Why the doubts? My S20+ came over the weekend. I'm having second thoughts. Now I don't know what to do as it sits here sealed in the box.
While I sympathise with the frustration as it is offered, but as an outsider like many, try living in a country where these 14/30 days return periods do not exist
Talk about taking your cake and eating it. You get to play for 14 days or more and return, get freebies, then moan the refunds not fast and want a gift card
I assure you more would be a lot more decisive on purchases if there were not these practices
The thing that grates is these returns and services like Apple stores push the costs of devices up globally where only a few countries get the benefits
Hope its sorted soon
a bit of anxiety thinking about leaving iMessage and the notion of being able to walk into an Apple store and walk out with a replacement should something go wrong. My last Android was an S7+ that I had to send in for a replacement and it took two weeks - long time to be without a phone lol...Why the doubts?
You must be in the States, iMessage isn't really an issue here in the UK as we pro dominantly use WhatsApp or Messenger.a bit of anxiety thinking about leaving iMessage and the notion of being able to walk into an Apple store and walk out with a replacement should something go wrong. Yes, in the USA. I purchased from Swappa so I can't go to a store if something goes wrong unfortunately where if I had personally purchased I would be covered for at least 14 days to start or longer if I had purchased an extended purchase protection plan. For now I am enjoying seeing the black box sit on my deskYou must be in the States, iMessage isn't really an issue here in the UK as we pro dominantly use WhatsApp or Messenger.
The bricks and mortar store does give some reassurance in the event of a fault though so I understand that.
It's unlikely there'll be a fault but I understand your caution. I have the regular S20, it's a great phone.Yes, in the USA. I purchased from Swappa so I can't go to a store if something goes wrong unfortunately.
Can you not buy the extra care package from Samsung ?a bit of anxiety thinking about leaving iMessage and the notion of being able to walk into an Apple store and walk out with a replacement should something go wrong. I would count on Apple to raise the price on the next iPhone model especially with 5G and the normal incremental feature upgrades.
If memory serves me right...during the recession in 2008 they did not fail to raise prices on new products.Normally I’d agree but considering everything presently going on around the world, Apple might find it both difficult and bad form to roll out a price increase at a time where many people have suffered financially over the prior 6 months and Apple’s own financials couldn’t really take a consumer backlash.
I’m certainly curious to see how the next iPhone is priced.

Today's issues are unprecedented though. I think it could go either way. But apple is pretty adamant about their pricing models. They do not usually reduce prices or put things on sale.....
I am curious as well. They canceled the planned press event this month. Most of their products are manufactured in China so they might be heavily impacted by a prolonged pandemic.
If you all don't mind a personal public service announcement from ol' Grumpy, please do take Covid seriously and do all that social distancing stuff you're hearing about on the news. Especially my British friends here. I understand you're currently trying to keep calm and carry on, and that's admirable. But let's not push your luck with the resources of the NHS!
The S20+ has been my daily driver so far...love the ergonomics and feel in the hand. The battery life has been great for me so far. I don't even look at it anymore cause I know it will last me ALL day. Typically off the charger at 5:30 AM and around 10 Pm I still have about 20% left.I could see them holding price if they werent dropping a budget iphone sometime soon. But they'll just point to that as their discount product for customers as if they're doing them a favor or something and keep their flagship (pro) devices at their normal pricing with should go up with the addition of 5G and high refresh screens.

Side note: I am keeping the s20 plus. Its ergonomic are the best I've used for my use. Perfect size and form factor. Battery is good enough to last all day. Camera is good, not great. Gcam port alleviates some of the issues but not all. Samsung just having figured out shutter speed and moving objects in post processing like Google and Apple. Everything else about the phone is best in class.
Anyone know how to actually register for Samsung Care / extended warranty? When I had the S10 I could do it within the Samsung app, but now I can't see it anywhere. I also can't register on my PC in my Samsung account. We shouldn't have to call customer support to add the extended warranty?
*Edit- no luck within the Samsung Members app. Unless I am missing something. Why do they make it so difficult for me to just give them more money if I choose to...

Strange, I don't have that option anywhere. I see the scrollable area on top and I have 8 options, but that isn't one of them. The phone is registered to my account.I can do it through the Members app and Samsung Premium Care, one of the scrollable options on the top.
Loving the ultra so far and size of it. No issue for me.
still waiting for my free buds plus to come but I was thinking what’s best between the buds plus or the regular AirPods for music quality and voice calls?
as I don’t like earphones with the rubber bits that go in the ears like them crappy ones that come In the Samsung box, as I’ve always just used the Iphones free headphones with my phones.
I'm really intrigued by the iPhone rumors. But I'm so enamored with the smallness of the 11 Pro (and the S20) right now.
I use both Galaxy Buds 2 and Airpods 2 with my Ultra. I like the Airpods the best for just keeping in my ear and phone calls, but I like the Buds better for just listening to music as the quality sounds much better. I can't just go about my business with the Buds if I'm not listening to music, the ambient sound feature is good, but not good enough. The same with most rubber tip earbuds. I haven't tried the Airpods Pro yet though.
i think that answers my thoughts there also. AirPods are easy in the ears and hearing surroundings hmm I’ll prob sell the buds and get the AirPods then.
I hate these tests, they don't prove anything. Nobody uses a phone like this.
