Managed to stay strong and not decide to pre order. Do like the silver model though

Do hope we see periscope lens on fold 3 and I will be sold to upgrade
The silver is gorgeous. It wasn’t an option offered past 128 GB size for some reason. Otherwise I might have considered it. Though it does remind me a lot of my Note 10.

Tempting given the collaboration between Samsung and Google so potentially the marriage of best hardware plus best computational AI. Once camera reviews confirm this it might push me off the fence.

Lol I canceled my order and made 2 other orders and canceled those before I finally got the one I was happy with. It wasn’t the phone I was indecisive on but the accessories. The preorder discounts and a new promo code I found make a difference.

I kept brown, but I decided I wanted the Flip Cover with S Pen now, after all, while I could get a preorder discount. The other cancellations were because I can’t see worth crap and accidentally ordered wrong colors of accessories and accidentally didn’t put an accessory into my cart when I thought I had. Their interface on my app is so fiddly.

***But most importantly I got a code for $50 off and it’s 50LATESTGALAXY5G that I found on a post on AC.***

It still worked as of a few minutes ago for me and my husband.

Also I let my husband put his order in first for his black S21 Ultra in case they gave us a problem with processing 2 trade ins per household at the same time. No sense making him wait for the black phone when my custom order brown is going to take almost a month to make.

I ordered the black rugged case with kickstand this time. I decided I could get a nicer clear case off of Amazon but it was crazy to pass up one of my favorite cases on discount.

It’s so funny because last year I kept ordering and canceling the S20 Ultra, which I ended up never getting. It’s good to know I’m consistent!

I saw that as well. It was the AI and computational processing that prompted me to order.

I nearly ordered the Phantom Black Ultra even though I need another phone like a hole in the head :)

But after Flossy handled it next to the Note 20 Ultra those rounded corners and edges even in the I only see stars Phantom Black is not enough for me to be persuaded :(

Yeah I definitely always found the very square shapes of the most recent generations of the Note series very elegant and business oriented looking vs the S series more rounded shape.

I just found the appeal of the s21 Ultra irresistible because it finally marries the major battery capacity of the S series to the extra utility of the S pen.

But I didn’t always use the s Pen enough to justify carrying it all the time and sacrificing that little bit extra battery I could usually appreciate more.

So now I will have the option to carry the S pen in the S View Cover case when I think I may want that functionality with me. But I’ll have other slimmer cases when I want a more conventional use of my phone and less bulk. I don’t know for sure I’ll find this ideal, but I won’t know unless I give it a whirl.

And this is my life during the pandemic. It’s a very different existence and way of using my phones for me than I have experienced before. Some aspects we are living now will become permanent. There’s a lot of change happening and on the horizon.

If Samsung s pen is too expensive and you don't need the extra features , the second one below is not bad for AU$19.

I hate cases and i am heavy s pen user so bit of problem for me if i buy the Ultra 🤔
Yeah I would imagine you're not alone in that. Even people who are okay with cases would probably hate the bulky kind necessary to accommodate the externally stored S Pen. So I would hope they continue with the Note line for you all. Or even for me if I find this is a raging pain in the tail solution.

Somewhere in my home office is my old Note 7 s-pen. At least I think I remember running across it last time I sorted through my stuff a couple of months ago.

Oh I keep forgetting to tell you all something I ran into that I thought was shady. When I tried to order my new S21 Ultra through my Shop Samsung app on my iPhone there was absolutely no flipping way to find the pre-order page for the phones. I couldn't even find the new cases or ear buds. Only last years merchandise was accessible. I couldn't even get it to show up in a search within the app! Mostly I was being directed to look at appliances.

So I opened up the Android version of the app on my S20. And it was right there in my face!

So what is up with that? Does Apple forbid Samsung from advertising pre-orders in the ios version of the app?

I remember in previous years I ordered on my iPhone. I had to open up my invitation in my email to get it, though.

I just thought that was a bit shady if Apple is suppressing a feature of the app that's not favorable to it.

I had wanted to order from my iPhone because my face ID makes authentication easier for the transaction.

But to my absolute shock, now that I'm determined to trade in this S20, the fps is working for me much better than it was just a few days ago. Lol that is also shady in a funny way.

I just had a look all three s21 models, Samsung as always bounce back from previous problems and S21 series is a good example.

The s21 plus screen looks beautiful, huge and open due to the flat screen, it doesn't look like FHD at all, really like'm all but sadly you can not use s pen on that wide and gorgeous screen 😌

As for the Ultra .....i'll leave it to you but its funny how the ugliest part of S20U has became the most attractive of S21U which is the camera hump.

From what I've seen of other people using 3rd parties styli, they're not as responsive and/or precise compared to first party S-pen. They worked for general navigations, but might not be ideal for more precise needs like writing and drawing. Then again, maybe the passive tech has improved nowadays.

Thanks for posting this review. I really like this guy's reviews. I used my $200 credit toward these ear beans and was hoping to hear exactly what he said about them. Lol I know these buds aren't bean shaped like the other ones Samsung made, but I like the idea of calling them that.

I got some Airpods Pro for Christmas and still enjoy my red Samsung earbuds from last year so I guess I could have spent the credits on something else. But I couldn't resist when I found out about the water resistance.

Also...purple. I am going to admire how pretty they are.
another attempt at the accessories

Anybody actually know the differences between normal s pen and s pen pro? Lol seems very odd why they did this

Just what i said above about third party styles. You can buy any brand styles from $15 to $100+

Looks like the S Pen Pro is basically the same as the S Pen you get with the Tab S7/S7+ in that it has Bluetooth features and "air" features...; whereas the normal is just a stylus, its also larger.

Personally I've got an S7+ S Pen, a Staedtler Noris EMR Stylus and Lamy EMR Pen and a spare Note 10 S-Pen so I'll just use one of those!

From memory the pro is Bluetooth enables so works as the Note series S Pen. Also I think the pro version is larger more akin to a pencil in terms of size.
