Do you have the Exynos Note 20 Ultra? If so could you let me know if the battery life is any better on Andriod 11?
If it’s the case that Samsung have managed to improve the battery life with software updates (since I had my Note 20 Ultra), I would be very tempted to get another Note 20U, now that there won’t be a Note 21 and the lineup being discontinued
It's too early to tell at the moment.
I'd need around a week to see any difference, I think that's roughly when my S21 turns up.
My usage isn't as high as some of you, especially during the week, but I did get better battery life from my Note 10.
Yeah, I'm not getting the pen until later on, apparently there is a "Pro" version coming out, ffs...
So I'll try my note's spen and see how that works but I'll wait.
As long as all my former notes are transferred to the device, I'll be happy til then.
If you like light colours s21 silver is the perfect choice. Blue suppose to be the second default colour of Samsung flagships but its not shining like before.
Eh I didn’t know that. I didn’t read that bit of fine print. So I went and canceled my order for the brown. 🤣😂 I was thinking of doing this anyway. I’ve been drooling over the black phones in the reviews. Well not literally. Ugh. That would be gross. 🤤
I really REALLY like the idea of having a brown phone because there was a Huawei one I wanted years ago. At least I think it was Huawei. I’ve never had a brown phone before. And this was a beautiful looking chocolate brown or coffee brown.
But jeez this is the year Samsung makes the most perfect black I’ve ever seen on a phone and then I love how the camera bump flows into the frame and body of the camera visually when they’re all one color. Swoon.
I lost track of how many cancellations I have made now. So anyway I now have the black in 512 GB.
And I added a purple case. I kept the purple ear beans and the black rugged case and the S View Cover Case with S pen. Samsung immediately reactivated my $50 off discount code so the $250 total credits still applied. It doesn’t look like anything is unduly back ordered or backed up. If it is, well I’ve waited months for orders from them before.
I doubt I’ll need 512 GB or the huge 16g RAM, but I’m not going anywhere or doing anything other than working, so I may as well splurge on the specs because I have found myself making more videos on my iPhone with 512 storage. When I know the storage is there, I am less hesitant to go a bit crazy and have fun recording the less formal moments.
I still am getting a sense for how my videos translate into file sizes.
Oh wow the reviews for the cameras on both Exynos and Snapdragon versions are so promising! I can still see where Apple does many things better. I think the iPhone cameras are capturing more subtle details. I think sometimes the white balance is better on the iPhone. And iPhones do portraits better, in general. Maybe not selfie portraits but other kinds. But it doesn’t look like there are any deal breaking differences this year.
And there’s so much more to play with on the S21 Ultra. I’m blown away by the macro capabilities. I can’t really do that on my 12 Pro Max. I used to take some good close up shots with iPhones before but the 12 pros struggle with that this year.
I can’t wait to take macro photos of bugs. I’m going to be turning over rocks and I’ll probably get stung by something, but I am so looking forward to getting some bug pictures. 😆
I don’t know if I’ll get to travel this year. I guess it depends on how it goes with the pandemic and how things go with my parents and some health issues they’re dealing with. If I get to travel then I’m going to test the zooms. I also bought some hiking boots on massive discount and I need to break those in so I’m hoping to get out on a hike.
My energy levels, breathing and heart rhythm have not been the best since I had that suspected case of Covid last spring, but I think there are a few local easy trails I can do and I will stop and take lots of breaks to take pictures. It’s something to look forward to, to get through this cold bleak winter.
Lol it did just occur to me if it snows I can use the zoom to take photos of the kids sledding from indoors, through the window, because let me tell you, I am NOT going out in that mess this year! I’m staying in with the hot cocoa!
Usually I’m the one out there up and down hills with the sled like I’m 6 years old. Everyone else has to drag my butt inside. I have often stayed out to sled under the moonlight. That’s how crazy I am about sledding.
A few years ago, I even built a snow fort with another mom. The kids were like icicles and wanted to go in and get hot cocoa and we wouldn’t budge because we were perfecting our building blocks of ice like crazy people.
This year, I don’t know what it is, but I am totally freezing my butt off just walking down the driveway to pick up my mail. Then I need a nap. I don’t know if Covid did that to me or I’m just finally feeling my age.
So what are you all looking forward to doing with your new S21’s when you get them?

Almost the most difficult thing in these days to “leave home” without.
You would literally sense that there is something missing on you when you step outside the door.
Forgot the most important thing from the list. Our phone also became our credit card. So for many of us its very important to research next phone. For heavy usage Flagships are a must now days.
Also with the prolonged closure of schooling / work facilities due to COVID “someone” has been trying to find the ideal gadget that does all PDFs, office editing, scribbling, ZOOM meetings, Google classroom, Scanning etc
and can still be shoved in the pocket for an occasional music &/ social media break when sitting behind a real computer becomes tedious.

Yep, the only thing I don't do is gaming on my phone, thats what my desktop is for.
I do love how far smartphones have come, and there's still plenty of scope for improvement.
I install very powerful and graphic rich games to test motion and resolution performances.
Check out R.A.C.E graphics and motion is beyond if you change graphic setting to Ultra in the game.

I'm really not interested in games on my phone though, I think the last time I played games on my phone was years ago, actually, it was Note 9 time to get the Samsung fortnite skin.
I used to be all about it but now, I even play King games (pyramid saga, candy crush etc...) on my PC lol.
Your Samsung phones can now become a desktop computer in addition to all the other things we do on them.
Fab post, you’ve hit the nail on the head re. the cameras and iPhone. I ordered both the Black and Blue but I saw the clause about non-refundable (unless faulty). So I was was on the fence, the blue and carbon camera cover (from marketing imagines) look incredible but I didn’t want to be stuck with it just in case so I cancelled the order the the blue.
