I haven't received any notification from Samsung yet, but FedEx Delivery Manager shows I have a package in transit from Samsung, shipped from Coppell, Texas, scheduled for delivery on Wednesday.

That's probably the phone. Most Samsung phone orders in the US ship from Coppell.

Any of the uk contingent received any emails yet? Mine still says preparing despatch
I received the shipped/dispatch notification from Samsung UK last Thursday with a DPD tracking code. However this code is still not active.

I am hoping for an earlier delivery than Friday. Fingers crossed.

On a side note, I already received the trade in pack to send off my old Samsung.

Yeah MBKHD raved about the mattee black on the S21 Ultra in his review. No more glossy back full of fingerprints!

Aren't all S21 Ultra colors frosted and not just black? If so, wouldn't that make them all fingerprint repellent and more so for the lighter colors since it's even less visible?

It is just the matte finish is less prone to fingerprints

I see that the 512GB version of the S21 Ultra has 16GB Ram, the 128GB and 256GB versions have 12GB. Why have Samsung done this and is it worth splashing out the extra cash for the Ram? obviously the extra storage is also nice to have.

It really isn’t unless you are a super hardcore power user and need the 512GB.

I had both versions of s20 ultra last year, 12gb and 16gb and noticed no difference at all in my day to day use

To those who have held it, any comments on the back of the phone? Is it slippery? I'm the rare type that likes glossy backs because they add more grip. I felt the pink/gold Note Ultra once and it was as slippery as an ice cube so I'm hoping this matte black has a little better grip to it.
Its not slippery IMO. If it is its just because of the sheer size of the phone. I held my iPhone 12 up to it and it honestly doesn't feel like its that much bigger!

I wouldn't bother unless you really need the storage space. 16GB really isn't needed on a phone

Can't pre-order lots of the configurations of the S21+ anymore on Samsung site, it's out of stock. I've been adding and removing it from my cart for a few days, haha. Maybe it is a good thing / saving me from myself. I'm also telling myself it is crazy that I can buy both the PS5 and Xbox X for the same price as a stupid phone...when I look at it like that these prices are out of hand. Maybe I'll wait until a Memorial Day sale or something. Excited to see all of your impressions once the phones start arriving tomorrow! Hopefully the Snapdragon variant won't overheat when shooting 4K video like the Exynos has been doing.

Pre-ordered phantom black S21+. I am weak. Delivers by Feb 3.

It's more for DeX. Plus, camera does a lot of processing that takes up memory and can cause other apps to close on devices without sufficient memory. Better to have more than less.
Sure, its always better to have more. But the difference between 12GB of RAM and 16GB of RAM on a smartphone is almost unnoticeable in day-to-day use.

When I get my 12GB version I'll try to do somewhat scientific tests to determine what the worst case memory usage is when simultaneously using DeX, taking pictures/videos with director's view, using object eraser, running apps, etc.
