Fab post, you’ve hit the nail on the head re. the cameras and iPhone. I ordered both the Black and Blue but I saw the clause about non-refundable (unless faulty). So I was was on the fence, the blue and carbon camera cover (from marketing imagines) look incredible but I didn’t want to be stuck with it just in case so I cancelled the order the the blue.
I think, unfortunately for the UK, that clause only applies to UK purchases. On the US site we are shown the usual 14 day return period for all colors. At least nothing changed or popped up as I tested the selections.

All custom colors in 512 gb except the brown are now sold out. Lol, how custom can it be if they can be sold out during a preorder? I thought “custom” and their description of “made to order” was exactly that, they get the order request and make the phone. Did they run out of their allotment of blue and titanium paint? :p I can understand the concept of a limited production run, but to claim to be sold out of a made-to-order item when regular orders aren’t even open yet make me wonder if something about “custom, made to order” got lost in translation.

Also, I didn’t see those colors described as being offered as part of a limited production run. But it’s probably there in tiny print on their site somewhere. I hate navigating their site and I hate shopping through their site or their app. At least this year it was less glitchy than in past years.

But regardless of return policy, I had been wanting the black color since seeing it in reviews. And I’d been regretting not getting at least one silicone case since I made the last preorder that I canceled.

It definitely popped up in the UK store and I also heard that they only make a certain number of the exclusive colours which are only available during pre-order so who knows but I get your point about “made to order” - doesn’t make sense.

I am starting to change my mind from Brown to the Black.
I’ll forever be going back and forth between the two. I hated giving up my chance to own a brown phone at long last. And I know eventually when I see videos of it I’ll get a pang of regret.

But dannnng that matte black is gorgeous. Apple made the iPhone 7 Plus in a matte black that I owned and loved. And they had the scuff and fingerprint magnet piano black that year, too that was incredible to behold.

Those were pretty colors. But those phones weren’t as interestingly designed as this phone. The curves and the black color really work together here. I’m not going to want to put a case on it.

After seeing Flossy’s review of the Samsung black leather case I regret not ordering it. Maybe I’ll pick that up with the (few dollars off) points my purchase earned me.

Has anyone seen the S21 Ultra in person? with the pandemic at the moment all non essential shops are closed here in the UK and so I can’t go to a store to see it in person. I’m not sure if it’s the same in other areas of the world (I’m guessing so). But if anyone has seen/held the S21 Ultra in person, could you possibly answer a couple of questions?

1. How curved is the screen? Compared to the Note. I loved he curve Note 20 Ultra and I like curved displays
2. How big is the Ultra to hold compared to the Note 20 Ultra?

Yes, I got my hands on one at a local T-mobile store.

1. The curve is very subtle. Its more in-line with the S20 and Note 20 curves than the extreme curves of the S10 or recent OnePlus phones.

2. I dont have a Note 20 Ultra so I cant comment there. But I currently use a S20 plus and recently owned a 12 Pro Max. It feels close to the size of the S20 Plus than the 12 Pro Max. It feels more narrow and comfortable than the 12 Pro Max. The only differences over the S20 Plus that I noticed are it was a little heavier and noticeably thicker. Its definitely a thick phone.

1. Do you mean the a Note 20 Ultra? The Note 20 doesn’t have a curve it was a flat display.

it’s difficult to get an impression watching videos. Thank you for the reply.

Edit: I’ve just watched this video and I can see the curve on the screen much better than on previous videos. It looks very slight and not as good as the one on the Note 20 Ultra, unfortunately.

I’m guessing you are referring to the tapered off edges on the sides? It’s a hit or miss kind of deal with me, because visually... it looks dope. But for practical use... I end up getting accidental touches.

Very subtle screen curve. And I haven’t held the note 20 ultra. But my brother has a note 10+ and I have a 12 pro max. The S21 ultra is far more comfortable and a joy to hold compared to the other two IMO

I originally ordered the brown just because it was different. But it said delivery would have been Feb 16th. There was no way I was going to wait THAT long lol
My indecisiveness cost me, so even for the “default” option I have a ship date of February 9th. 😝.

When I expressed my recent regret at not getting the black leather case my husband said he expects I’ll cancel THIS preorder and do another that includes the black leather case. I admit the temptation was there but not that much. For one thing, I can’t decide between black or brown leather.🤣

To those who have held it, any comments on the back of the phone? Is it slippery? I'm the rare type that likes glossy backs because they add more grip. I felt the pink/gold Note Ultra once and it was as slippery as an ice cube so I'm hoping this matte black has a little better grip to it.

I haven't received any notification from Samsung yet, but FedEx Delivery Manager shows I have a package in transit from Samsung, shipped from Coppell, Texas, scheduled for delivery on Wednesday.
