Personally I think they should introduce the S21 Ultra as the new Note. SPen support and a curved display.
I respect your preference, but for me that's a big no thanks. Curved screen is one of the reasons why I haven't bought a Note the past few years. Now they have a perfect opportunity to sell two huge phones with different specialities: the S21 U for those who like curved screens, you can still use the S Pen presumably with the same functionality too; and a Note with a flat screen to provide the most usable screen real estate for the pen.

Curved screens are categorically a No for me as they warp some of the content displayed on the screen, create glare along the curve, and on a Note I just feel cheated out of some of the usable space as the pen can't write on the curved part. The increase in pocketability is not worth it to me.

I understand the reasoning for keeping the big screen curved, even if I dont agree with it. But curving the screen, you not only make it physically smaller but it feels even smaller than that. A phone with a 6.8 inch screen is already pushing the boundaries of what is comfortable in the hand so they are trying to improve that.

By comparison, my current phone (S20 plus) has slightly curved screens with a width of 2.9 in and the 12 Pro Max has a flat screen with a width of 3.07 in. Both have the same screen size but the S20 plus feels WAY smaller in the hand and way more comfortable. I didnt think the 12 Pro Max was unwieldy because the weight was balanced well, but it was close.

If Samsung were to go back to the S10 style of curved screens, which is really curved, I will be unhappy. If they keep the minimal curve from the S20 series, I wont mind at all.

I understand that, for me tho I really liked the curved display on the Note 20 Ultra! It was something different compared to my iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I’m hoping there is a curved version of the S21 with S Pen support and Note like features. Much better battery life is the main thing for me (it’s the reason I sent my Note 20 Ultra back).
I’m also hoping that the new Exynos chip is better with battery life.

Either that or give us a new Note this year (Note 21).

Curved screen is very annoying if you don't use cases.

- Too many accidental touches.
- Slippery at the edges when you draw with the s pen or do some work.
- Reading or viewing videos or pics is not comfortable as the flat screen.
Flat screens can be very annoying if you use edge panels :)

..mmmm 🤔...i don't think so, never heard this complaint before from anyone. My Lenovo tablet has edge panel (surprisingly) and it works perfectly without any issues.

Well that's hardly conclusive LOL

It's the same with touch screen laptops, some have a raised lip or rubber seal and swiping for message notifications is hindered

The curve of screen on the note facilitates the gesture even with a case as the curve is still proud. You can see this easily on the Fold 2 outer screen vs inner screen

I have never thought the curve makes the phone more slippery if anything the reverse as the edge gains more natural traction without having to apply more pressure with a flatter side

Similarly I have heard this viewing comment before yet everyone seems to ignore conveniently the massive glare and reflection you get form wide metal edges

Each to their own as YMMV

I didnt know s21 Ultra is first Galaxy phone to offer 120 hz @ the full QWHD wow. Also 2 variants will be flat screen . May be old news but they look very premium with killer specs. That purple colour easily outsold the rest because it looks gorgeous.

Samsung had a good opportunity to bring some awesome two-tone colors.... *sigh. Imagine red and black combo, or light blue with white. Why do they have to pick pink and purple?

The pink and purple looks so gaudy and cheap.

Love the color combinations, very premium looking devices. Glad they stuck with curved sides. Nothing worse than a flat edge jabbing into your palm.

I hope they bring this color combination to the Fold 3.

I’m too boring for all that. Give me black, preferably with a matte finish but still definitely black. Easily pleased
