I am going to have a hard time not grabbing the S21 when it comes out. My Note 10 is my mobile computer and I would like to upgrade it to a newer phone that retains the ability to have a large SD card to hold my files. I still like my IPhone for casual use, but for traveling with business info, I like the ability to use removable media.

I am going to have a hard time not making the S21 my first ever device outside iPhone.

I do have a Note 9, it was a spare phone along with my go to XsMax. Still a darn good device, display I think - is top notch for 2020. But battery level on this is...eh, Understandable, it's an old battery.

I do love the freedom of Android, I admit. Sideloading better GCam, other apps...customization that iOS doesn't have for the most past (unless you jail break)

Current is 12 PM...and it will remain that way until at least Fall 2022, but whew..this is slick.
If I wasn't so locked into the IOS, OS, Mac ecosystem, everything I have now is Apple..this would be a real nice option!

Article I saw, https://www.tomsguide.com/news/samsung-galaxy-s21 , had this link - (is that a reliable leaker/source??..IDK)

But the S21 Ultra with the 6.9" curved screen. I kind of like the curved screens..

Ugh curved screens are the absolute worst. It just reminds me of those S7days. The iphone 12 has the sexiest design with the presion cut stainless steeel squared off sides.
And huge bezels with a massive notch. As much as I like my iPhone 12PM, the front looks and feels so dated next to the futuristic looking Galaxy devices.

Totally agree with you. This may sound really dumb but I find that damn iMessage is on the reasons I feel stuck with apple . All my group chats and family members have iPhone . I know that sounds really dumb but I have had nightmares using my note 20 ultra nmin group chats .

Im so damn excited for qhd 120hz im probably trading in the note 20 ultra for it

Doesn’t sound dumb - lots of us are in the same boat. I also jump between Apple/Samsung but also come back because of things like iMessage. My Home Screen is also so dated, I feel like I’m in 2009 compared to what’s possible with the Galaxy range. Looking at a Galaxy S21 Ultra when they are available.

I’ve given up trying to fix my iPhone to my liking. I can’t the Home Screen is beyond repair at this point. I’ve come to grip with reality.

And I bought these AirPod pros for 150 during black Friday and now want to try android again.

I can imagine the pros being completely gimped outside of iOS.

not dumb at all I would bet thousands of people are in the same boat....now that I have a Mac as well iMessage is even better for me now with my iPhone and iPad. WhatsApp is very popular here but all the people I text are iMessage so I don't really want to have to go into WhatsApp and use more than one messaging service.

What's the issue with having more than one messaging app? I can't for the life of me figure that one out.

I bet most people have more than just one social media app, shopping app etc, you get my drift. Hell, I've got 3 different weather apps!

I couldn't care less which messaging service my mates message me on just as long as they do ?.

Agree, it's not rocket science. I use a couple different ones and don't miss a message.

I actually have three but Telegram is just something I use for support on things I have and I get an issue I need resolved.
I don't give it a second thought. See message, reply to message....however I get it.

I simply don’t want to need to use my phone for all texts] messages. Different parts of the day I want to either text off the device I’m using wether that’s my iPhone, iPad, MacBook or hell even my Apple Watch..you may be able to receive texts but can’t start any on WhatsApp on my Apple Watch so I want that option if I need to...

If I needed to use WhatsApp I would but ideally all the main people I talk are on iMessage so once you’re used to that it’s for me not ideal using another app

I can never get used to iMessage lol been on iPhone since 2014 and before that 2009-2012. Yet I still don’t get iMessage. I just use and prefer WhatsApp. Even the iPhone users I have in my contacts use WhatsApp now. I’ve used WhatsApp since 2010. I can even get my HomePod to send WhatsApp messages via voice commands.

Yeah, it's a real shame. I'm so used to Apple, iPhone...love this 12 PM also, but you nailed it, it looks dated, even with the new flat side design. Also 99% of everything I own now is Apple so it all works together.

My Note 9 I picked up as a spare, inexpensive phone last fall, as "old" as this is now..I just like the design of it, it's a slick device. Samsung comes out with new designs every year, FULL screens..and yeah, I'd rather have the pinhole front camera.

Now to even imagine the rumor for 2021 iPhone is that the best there will be is just a “ reduced notch “

Yeah it will be a long walk.
Almost unbelievable it has been like this since iPhone X.

The faithful will be adamant that they no longer see the notch.

That said if you an iPhone in public you know it's an iPhone. As a design company first Apple nail it on this front. Like sticking with white plastic for their earphones. These things are part of icon culture.

iOS is what has kept me with Apple and their product and material design has forced the market to raise its game. Sadly for me Apples fit and finish has been on a steady slide down, especially considering the prices they command. I'm now looking to Samsung for 2021.
