They unfortunately can’t pick a winner. The comments are so toxic when in the past someone has made the mistake of declaring a winner. And goodness help a female reviewer who declares a winner, or even hints at having a preference; the threats I’ve seen a few years ago are sick.

There are just too many crazy people who take these things personally and have nothing better to do than go to war on people for having an opinion that differs from theirs.
Great point actually, the comment sections in a lot of places are a toxic mess.

The moon photos have become cliche at this point but I am absolutely amazed to see it in person.

15 years ago you would have been happy to get this shot with thousands of dollars in camera gear.

That’s amazing! But what happened to the face that was on the moon? There used to be two big craters like eyes then one that looked like a open mouth. Sort of like this: 😮. Maybe it’s only visible in certain seasons.

That face was actually a kid that Tom Hanks and Hillary Clinton were trafficking, so it's long gone!

"However, the Man in the Moon is just one interpretation of the Moon's features. Other cultures have seen very different shapes in the lunar surface.
Remember too that the Moon only looks this way in the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere, people see the Moon the other way up."

I live near the equator.

How well does Android play with macOS nowadays?

Last time (on Samsung Galaxy SIII era), Samsung’s Kies software did not backup everything on the device. When I did a restore after a warranty claim, not all apps and data came back.

It is all handled phone to phone, or through the cloud.

Or you can use apps like handshaker to transfer files.

I make backups using smartswitch on my PC, there's a Mac app too if needed.

I have my current phone backed up.
I don't really lose much at all, I just have to remember the odd app login, Samsung Pass takes care of that mostly.

I haven't done a fresh phone install for years now, I just apply my favorite theme (Black Edition V2) and I'm done.

Phone to phone is a bit of a bummer... Notably if you lose/break the old one.
I like to start fresh every time I get a new phone. So I avoid the phone to phone transfers, and all of my photos are automatically backed up in the cloud, so no risk of losing them.

Google will restore the vast majority of your apps from the cloud. In the event that you lose your phone, the new one will be restored with all of your contacts, and texts in tact, as long as you opted to have them backed up.

Just like everything to do with Android absolutely anything you want to do is possible, however you do need to do your own due diligence.

Since I use Windows, Mac OS, Android, and iOS, I purposely lean towards apps that aren't reliant on what device you are using, and just use any screen as a terminal.

I never miss a beat if I change devices.

As mentioned above, Smart Switch is the backup system for Galaxy phones even on a Mac. I think for the app backup it only restores the installed apps without the stored files and contents of the app itself, so it's not full restore like on iOS.

Phone to phone is a bit of a bummer... Notably if you lose/break the old one.
There are many options to back up and restore, most are automated and transparent others allow for more subtle user preferences, phone to phone is just very convenient when upgrading for most but Google and Samsung cloud back-ups are always there amongst others

Samsung Kies died ages back BTW

The only major difference to say Iphone back up are

Most key passwords like email, onedrive, have to be re -entered for security, depending on what you have installed previously

3rd Party apps are automatically downloaded from playstore based on your installed list so you always have latest versions. The apps only, user content and settings are backed up and restored

Samsung have an extreme secure area "Safe" that is completed segregated to main phone where business, or personal apps and 2nd accounts etc can be run plus all the normal personal files and photos etc, this has its own secure back up routines to cloud that are separate

Samsung phones allow many options on what you back up or restore including previous phones that can be used on any other phone of your choice

Because of all the customization possible on Samsung and android phones the restore process is much better these days even if you try and use say your S9 back-up to a S21 it will try its best to get close to configurations, newer phones and upgrades need little fiddling to get the same look/layout as previous, same model to model restore even better

For those that use 3rd party launchers and other unique customizations you can always back up to SD/PC just for the layout config then restore over with just current msg's, phone logs, contacts etc , so everyone is covered

Hello everyone. New member here. I currently reside in Brazil. Long time tech enthusiast. Own an iPhone 11, Note 10 Plus and just received a S21 Ultra a few days ago. Wanted to ask some users here: my S21 Ultra heats up a lot while using the stock camera app. Gets to 43 degrees Celsius when recording a video. Tested it yesterday simultaneously with Note 10 Plus and an Iphone 11. Results after 48 minutes of recording: S21 Ultra was at 43 degrees, Note 10 Plus at 38,5 and an Iphone 11 at 33,5. Never owned an S series device before. Only used Note series. Is this normal or I should return it? Would appreciate a feedback of real S21 Ultra users here.

43 degrees, whilst hot, is not something to be worried about.

Anyone order and receive the Caudabe Sheath case? I'm glad to see they made one for the ultra. Mine should arrive next week.

Tested again today. Compared my wife's S20, my Note 10 Plus and S21 Ultra. 30 minutes of video recording. S21 Ultra reached 46,5 degrees. Was surprised to see that S20 ended up with the same temperature. Note 10 Plus reached 39. Guess this is common for S series. Really surprised. I always use my phones without cases. This is why I do not like how hot s21 Ultra gets if when taking pictures for 10-15 min. Any hope that Samsung will make it more tolerable with future updates? Or this is how it will be?

My $1500 mirror less camera can't even handle 30 minutes of video without becoming the surface of the sun. I guess if you need to film that long on a cell you will be better of with an iphone.
I actually do have an iPhone. The problem here is not just about video recording. Phone heats up the moment you launch the stock camera app. It gets hot even when taking pictures. Not just videos. I do like the phone. Always wanted to have a phone in the pocket that would have great macro and zoom capabilities. If these types of temperatures are normal for these devices from Samsung then maybe I can live with it. But if it's a defect or hardware malfunction I'd like to be certain while there is time to return or exchange the item. That is all that I want. So far no one here replied if their S21 Ultras heat up to similar temperatures while using the cameras. Would love to hear their feedback.

I've noticed no heat issues on my ultra. I've not taken a ton of photos or videos but when I do I don't notice any heat. You may have a lemon or the exynos may act differently than snapdragon. Not sure how the exynos performs as mine is a snapdragon.

My S21 ultra ran very warm for the first couple of weeks, it's a lot cooler now.
It will still get warm using the camera for extended periods, and warm while wireless charging but it is better.

I don't know if that's helpful at all.
Exynos in NZ.

Thanks for replying. I actually never had a phone with Snapdragon in it. Would love to get one to see the difference.

Appreciate your feedback. I've perceived with previous Samsung devices that the at the beginning it kind of learns your usage pattern. Then it adjusts to the use. I do really hope that is the case this time as well. But my wife had S20 for 6 months already and my Note 10 Plus is with me for 4 months. Their camera apps heat up as well. My guess is this type of thing is normal for all Exynos devices. So far I haven't experienced any camera closures while using the app. Let's see how it goes and what other users will reply.

I did see this video yesterday. But thanks for advice. My experience with heating up is similar to what is shown in that video. But what is the verdict from all of this? My feeling is that it's normal with latest Exynos devices from Samsung. But it's still very uncomfortable.

It seems to have answered your 1st question ie it's normal and not dissimilar to other devices when you factor in the differences in specs etc

Its up to you to decide if its tolerable but there are mitigations you can take to possibly ease the situation like closing all apps and 5g data etc while your filming these planned extended periods

Yes. I know. Though I do not like to meddle much with devices. I do know how to jailbreak, root and replace the firmware but these days I prefer to use devices the way they were designed. But I'll keep observing and using S21 ultra. Let's see how it goes.
