Update on my S21 Ultra handling struggles.. especially my poor and sore pinky!

I am currently using a Spigen Thinfit case on the Ultra and it has solved all my handling issues.

I have to say this case complements the design of the phantom black finish whilst adding the grip I needed. Naked was too slippy for my liking.

PS. Pinky is feeling much better. Happy days!
I’m so happy for you. I suffered that sore pinky (and subsequent strain on my entire hand) with the 12 Pro so I thoroughly empathize. Odd how getting any even larger 12 Pro Max solved my problems. I guess it made it more like an iPad mini for me.

I’ve just got my Caudabe Veil cases in Navy and Black. Oh my goodness navy looks so nice. It looks like it is the phone’s body instead of a case. But the sides don’t come up enough to really protect the glass display well. So it definitely is more for minimalists than clumsy critters like me. Still, I’m fine for using it around the house and it does grip. It’s nice when I want a bit of a color change. I’ve not tried the black case yet but I would imagine it looks just about perfect.

Spring is the time when parents get drafted for fundraisers and stuff like that so I’ll be a bit scarce for awhile. I’m very pleased with the S21 Ultra so far. And I really like Duck Duck Go as my browser. Right now I’m on my iPhone though as I just got a barrage of iMessages concerning school stuff. Most people connected with our school are on iPhones. That’s just the way of it.

Oh well, I am not picking one platform over the other at this point. I love them both for different features.

Oh the in screen fingerprint sensor is still working great for me. I am so used to it now that sometimes I forget when I pick up my iPhone I start pressing on the display. Lol. Of course Face ID can see it’s me and unlocks my phone anyway. The touch sensor seems faster to me now than Face ID. I hope the iPhone gets to have both eventually.

I'm sadly saying goodbye to my S21 Ultra. Let's just say that the need for me to use Parental Controls on iOS has arisen.

Incredible device but the Apple Ecosystem is definitely pulling me back in a real life scenario here.

If anyone is interested in buying mine, I posted it in the Marketplace: Other section. Mint condition!

That's the one thing besides the consistent camera and iMessage that keeps me wanting to use an iPhone.

Kids, wife, most family and friends use the dang thing. When my kids request an app or purchase most of the time I don't get a notification because after work hours I don't really use my iPhone.

I just can't do it though. I love the Fold 2 and S21 Ultra too much.

Yep super tough decision for sure. The S21 Ultra is by far the best phone I've ever used, including the 12 Pro that I'm switching to. I had the same exact issue with app purchases too. I do have a work iPhone but they didn't come through to it have the time, most likely because my work is probably blocking/monitoring it.

Thank you for the kind words.. I'm glad I persevered as I am now loving the Ultra experience.

Interestingly I am from the UK.. so have the Exynos version but I have had no issues with overheating or battery life which has been stellar.

Patiently waiting on the S Pen Pro release to try out the Note like features. Come on Samsung!

Anyway the next hurdle for the Ultra is me resisting the Z Fold3 when it is released!

I still have and love my ultra but it's about to get some drawer time. I can't sell it as I am getting huge monthly credits from T-Mobile so it'll be in my drawer for the next time I get an Android itch, in a month or so.

For now, heading back to an iPhone 12, pro, or pro max. Still undecided. The ecosystem is also too much for me right now and frankly I love the apple ecosystem. I miss iMessage, my watch, and Macbook integration of all my devices.

all been there with this one. thing is Samsung and android make amazing phones so really the ecosystem for many makes it impossible to move on. It's really no fault on the devices at all.

For me it's even more extended now I have the MacBook, iPad, iPhone, watch, air pods, apple tv, HomePods and now magsafe wallet lol which to my surprise I really love.

was it just app purchases? and family using it as the main reason to going back?
It's really because I have a 12 year old daughter in a world full of social media, creeps, peer pressure, all that fun stuff.

Big picture, the Apple ecosystem and accessories cannot be matched, so I am excited to go back for that reason. I think the AirPod Pros are going to be a nicer experience. The Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch are about the same for me, but it'll be nice having iCloud again.

Totally understand that and can't fault someone for wanting to be protective of their kids. I stay logged into all my daughters social media accounts on my computer and iPad. I tend to keep pretty good tabs on things. Every couple days I'll get on her phone and check her messages and camera roll as well. Sure she can delete stuff, but I don't think she has.

It just started about 3-4 months ago. Man it's fun. Thank goodness my younger one is a boy, haha!

Hey get that, we have a 14 year old and have to do the same.

Same here that is why I switch back and forth between the 12 PM and S21 Ultra

I miss one.....then use it for a while and miss the other one...it is a vicious cycle

Samsung is at it again with their crazy promos on products.

Just ordered a Galaxy watch 3 45mm cellular for $85 with trade in, and first responder discount (no proof needed), and trade in of my gear s3. I believe it is even cheaper if you have a edu email.

I don't care for the 2 tone so I added this ringke stainless applique bezel, and a brown aligator 22mm strap.

Will look close to this in the end.

That's really the only thing I miss with not using an iPhone. I still have an iPad so can approve apps and screen time for my 10 year old son, but I don;t always have it in front of me, so sometimes my son has to (horror of horrors) come out of his room and ask me to approve things.

I think one thing that really bothers me about Android smart watches is that most (but not all) of them look very masculine, like this one. So if there’s a watch I like but it looks masculine, I’m screwed. Apple Watch looks good on everyone.

It looks much more feminine in the mystic bronze, but I get what you are saying.

One of my main complaints with my apple watch was how feminine it looked, and I ended up bulking it up with a rugged case.

I am currently using the fitbit versa 2 which works well as a basic smartwatch and is more unisex.

Although I also have it in a rugged case to beef it up.

Galaxy 3 really impressed me yesterday
