Using a S21 Ultra alongside my 12 Pro Max. Just got the S-view cover w/ S-Pen.

I haven't used the S-Pen or a S-view folio since my Note 3 days and I definitely miss those two. I wish it was a part of the phone rather the case (so I wouldn't have to use the case).

Same for me too. The auto focus seems a little faster.

I still have and love my ultra but it's about to get some drawer time. I can't sell it as I am getting huge monthly credits from T-Mobile so it'll be in my drawer for the next time I get an Android itch, in a month or so.

For now, heading back to an iPhone 12, pro, or pro max. Still undecided. The ecosystem is also too much for me right now and frankly I love the apple ecosystem. I miss iMessage, my watch, and Macbook integration of all my devices.
You can still use it on WiFi can’t you? I only end up with a phone in a drawer when I’m trying to run 4 phones simultaneously. I have my 12 Mini and my S21 Ultra with AT&T sims in them. I have my 12 Pro Max and Pixel 3XL on WiFi. The Pixel is the only one not getting used daily. I did think I would not be using it at all but it’s always lying around somewhere and I can pick it up and browse the web or read my ebooks.

I think one thing that really bothers me about Android smart watches is that most (but not all) of them look very masculine, like this one. So if there’s a watch I like but it looks masculine, I’m screwed. Apple Watch looks good on everyone.

Its the fact that AW look the same on everyone is the reason I don't buy one LOL

Most AW users walk around with a black rectangle showing and the watch face may aswell be a picture in your bedroom as it just personal to the user most of the time

My wife's Active 2 could not look any more different to my one

Just updated the ultra with the last patch yesterday. Decided to test the camera today. Recording a 10 minute video and taking some pictures resulted in so much heat that temperature showed "too high" when being measured. Not even a number. Insane. Lots of people are having this issue on other forums with many threads and videos on YouTube. Curious if Samsung will be able to fix this with software update. Unless it's a hardware issue.

I haven't recorded any video since updating, but have taken a lot of pics and so far, so good on my end.

Hi everyone,

I've read some of this thread (it is very long), but wanted to get a quick opinion. I was attacked yesterday in the street and my S9+ was stolen. Insurance will cover it, but I was wondering about switching up to the S21 Ultra, as I like big phones.

Is there anything I should be aware of? Some people here are talking about a heat issue, but I'm in the UK and it has a different processor?

Or am I better off with the S21+?

sorry about the incident

some analysts say the + is in an odd position because at that price point maybe you would rather add a little more and go biggest, otherwise you do like me with preference of smaller and manageable phones

if the camera usage spanning into 10 minutes excess then perhaps wait for others opinions

otherwise as a first time Samsung user i am more than satisfied with my S21
sometimes i think the review videos do not even do justice until one actually feels it in the hand

The Exynos version, which is what you'd get in the UK, is the one that seems to have more issues with it so far. The + vs Ultra is your call. Do you prefer a flat or slightly curved screen? The screen on the Ultra is also a bit bigger so that's another point you can use to decide, along with the extra camera.

The AW still looks better to me, TBH.

Shame about the attack

Think there is only one user noting heat issues and given the ambient temperature is about 20C more in Brazil than UK, you already on better ground IMO and we have no idea of configurations and/or open apps etc

PS Think you will find its the same Chipset only US and Korea I believe have SD and maybe HK ?

I installed an app called:"CPU Monitor." Pretty good one and runs in background measuring CPU temperature. When taking just pictures temperature rises to 43 degrees after 10 min or so. When shooting videos after 15 min it's 48-50 degrees Celsius. I do use the phone without any case. This way I perceive the heat pretty quickly. I do have regular apps installed on my phone: banking apps, Twitter app and one game: COD Mobile. Same as I had on my Note 10 Plus and iPhone 11.

Being attacked is no small thing, I hope you're okay and hope they apprehended the attackers!

I have an exynos s21 Ultra, yes it was a bit warm for the first week or so but not so much now.
I'm totally satisfied with the phone, the microscopic criticism of the device is overblown.

Which one has a flat screen? The heat issue, I'm not so sure about - I sometimes take video, but never more than a minute or so at a time. I do take lots of photos, but probably only really a fraction of the number your average user takes.

Thanks. At the moment I'm using my wife's S9, which feels TINY (and is really only fractionally smaller than the S9+), so I wonder if the S21 might be the same (I haven't looked up dimensions vs the S9, I assume the S21 and S21+ are about the same as the S9 and S9+). And as you say, the S21+ seems like an odd option, sandwiched between the S21 and S21 Ultra!

Thanks! And, yeah, there is sometimes a risk of getting obsessed with something that isn't an issue for 99% of people!

Was shooting a video today. 4K 60 fps. Showed up a warning about overheating after 17 minutes of shooting. Then the camera app shut down. And this is in a flagship phone. I've never had such issue in any phone I've ever owned. Can't return it and can only sell it for less than I paid for it. Or can keep it and hope for future updates. Really don't know what to do...
