It's from very.co.uk

They usually send me 20% Off codes every 6 months. That in addition to the recent promotion for the 512gb (£130 off) model makes the upgrade only £40 for me as I was still in the return window.
Damn, I use very a lot and I never get codes!

Hello everyone. Was curious if anyone here have both Z Fold 2 and s21 Ultra. There's an offer on the horizon for me to get a Z Fold 2 in return for my s21 Ultra and a small additional sum. What would your opinions would be on this matter? I'm just tired of the heating issue on this device while using the camera. And one of the reasons I bought this device was its supposed great macro capabilities. But so far not impressed. Anyhow, would love to hear some ideas. Thanks.

The only reason I didn't get the z fold 2 is the price, so I would definitely take one over my s21. That is as long as I had insurance on it.

Even for someone with a very healthy gadget budget, $2,000 is just too far for something I will use for 2 years at a maximum.

Appreciate your feedback. You have an Ultra as well?

Kinda wondering whether I should go for the S21+ rather than the Ultra. The heating issues bother me, and the idea of a flat screen is very appealing. It's only fractionally smaller than the Ultra, and... do I really need all those cameras?

Hmmm! This is coming from an S9+, so the S21+ would be a pretty good upgrade anyway.
Based on the shots I've been able to get with the cameras, yes I'd say you need them. Lol

Yeah, I think you are right. Looks like I can get a very good deal on a Note 20 Ultra (for less than the S21+), so that might be the way to go!
As someone that had the Note 20 Ultra, I will say there is a marked difference in battery life between it and the 21 Ultra. For me, that was a big deal. I like to take trips, so there are times I may be away from a charger for long periods of time. I hate having to plug up to my portable battery, so the 21 Ultra's battery life has really been nice to have.

The cameras are great, they trade blows with the best.
The battery life is great too.

From what I have gathered from various youtube videos, forum posts, etc etc, it seems that the Exynos version performs slightly better than the Snapdragon version, but overheats easier than the Snapdragon. Snapdragon will eventually throttles as well, just not as quick as Exynos, it seems.

And I am wondering it's due to the new Cortex X1 core. Reports of other SD888 phones overheating are also present, like the Xiaomi Mi11. I also wonder if it's a reason why Qualcomm also rebadged the Snapdragon 865 into Snapdragon 870, as if they need a second flagship.

I went and ordered the Note 20 Ultra. I’ll be interested in seeing the battery life. Considering how cheaply I got this one, I’m not going to be too disappointed if the battery is weak - my S9+ wasn’t great in that department, after nearly three years of use. Certainly if I had bought a Note 20 Ultra at launch for full RRP, I would think differentl!

The S21 Ultra sure does look good, but that would have been an extra £400 - almost 50% again of the price I got the N20U for.

Watched some videos on YouTube yesterday. Quite a lot of content on heating issue on s21 Ultra. Kind of glad that my unit is not defective, lol. But not happy in general that it heats up more than my other phones. Especially while using the camera.

main issues with exynos seem to be overheating, image processing not as good and video are worse than the SD models. granted not the same for everybody but does appear to be an issue. I know people are having issues with camera getting overheated with any amount of use.

My S21U gets warmer than my 12PM but not too warm to the point that I can’t touch it. I don’t get the temperature warning either, and I don’t really use the camera for long periods where it gets warm. I wonder why everyone has a different experience? I have the snapdragon version so I understand why it’s different in countries that has exynos, but I do see some people with snapdragon complain on the galaxy s21 subreddit about overheating.

Yup

256 GB phantom black. Absolutely in love with it. Coming from a note 10+.

Something that doesn't seem to come up is the shape of S vs Note series. The curved edges of the S make it so much easier to pocket, and it feels like a smaller phone.

I doubt I will go note again. Next phone, and probably all future phones for me will be folding, but the S21 Ultra is the candybar phone refined, and a great phone to end an era.

Galaxy watch 3 came in, to keep the ultra company.

Nice strap! It's nice having the tools to adjust links.
Unfortunately my black SS strap broke and I'm using the original silicone strap.

I keep being amazed by my Frontier, nearly 5 years old , always on display and I get home with 30 to 50% battery.

I appreciate this is not quite on-topic for this thread, but with those using big phones like the S21 Ultra, what weather widget do you use on your home screen, if you do?

On my S9+, I used the standard weather widget. However, on the larger screen of the Ultra, the layout isn't quite right and it seems to waste a lot of space.

I'm a bit new to Android so wondered if anyone had any recommendations.

You prefer the feel of the S series over the Note? Little slimmer and curvier.

I never had a lot of apps on my Apple watch so the Tizen app 'shortage' isn't a big deal to me. I do feel like the Samsung watch and phone (Active2, S21 Ultra)tend to disconnect a lot more frequently than the Apple watch and phones, though maybe that's becasue the Galaxy watch lets you know when it disconnects. The Galaxy watch seems to struggle a bit connecting to WiFi.My

The Outlook app on the Galaxy watch doesn't show the calendar whereas it does on the Apple watch. My work stuff can only be accessed via Outlook so that was nice to have when needed. I know that's a Microsoft thing but it;s something I've noticed.

Other than that I'm pretty happy with the Samsung combo.
