It can be software issue as well. Probably due to Google being behind in supporting camera hardware and features in Android’s own camera APIs. In Android world, each OEM ended up doing their own thing for their camera software. Even Xiaomi had to do their own camera app on their Android One models since Google’s camera API back then didn’t even support dual lens setup.

Without proper API support for the actual camera hardware, 3rd party apps automatically suffers. This is why Snapchat and instagram in Android are poor compared to iPhone, since they were simply taking screenshots instead of actually using the camera APIs.
Regardless of hardware or software, not having 25 FPS is silly.

Samsung sells phones to Asia where the 25 FPS PAL standard is used. Millions of customers in this region will wonder why the lights are flickering in their videos recorded on Samsung phones but not iPhones.

I haven't see the specs sheet of S22 yet but hopefully they added 25 FPS

Managed to get my phantom black 512GB though. Should still be here for release day. Ordered silicone case as well

I hope these phones will get Apple to offer larger than 6.7" displays, more than 4,400mAh batteries and more than 27W fast charging

Love what Samsung is doing with the 4 major OS updates. They are really making it a one-horse race in the Android world in terms of an experience that can rival Apple.
Agreed. This was a big contributor to why i pre-ordered the Ultra. It seems Samsung has been leading the way when it comes to updates in general on Android lately and now keeps on setting an example with this commitment.

The whole 4 years of OS updates is giving apple another one less advantage over Samsung.
That beats even Google's own Pixel (which is just 3 OS upgrades). Kudos to Samsung.

Or maybe it's a sign that future versions of Android is being less and less significant that it's easier to adopt. I just hope they don't count Android 12L as one of those upgrades.

I doubt that the Ultra display being 0.1" larger than the Pro Max will get Apple to do anything whatsoever. Rather I was hoping that Samsung would grab their pair and make the Note properly huge. With a FLAT screen to boot.

Really though, the direction I would prefer is if Samsung go back to making a 8" OLED tablet. I personally love that format and my ideal setup would be an 8" tablet + smaller phone. I've always loved huge phones but I've come to see that most of my phone based tasks would be just as easy to do on a smaller phone, and it'd be far more comfy to have a smaller phone + small tablet for on the go media consumption, gaming etc..

I'd love to get an iPad mini and use that alongside say an iPhone SE, but the mini doesn't have OLED. And that's one area where Samsung setting a better example might actually prod Apple at least a little bit.

The only reason I went for the 512GB over the 256, was because with my discount it worked out to just over £70 difference between them. I thought why not, it’s better to have extra storage.

A couple of software things I really like from Samsung with the S22:

- Making Google Messages the default messaging app in the US. This will help make RCS more of a standard thing.

- Adding a wallet app. Apple wallet is so much better than anything on the android side right now. Gpay is a mess visually and organizationally.

naw...they will not add AOD on a iPhone. They want you to buy a Apple watch instead.
Same reasoning why they do not have touchscreens on their laptops....they want you to buy an iPad instead.
They have the technological ability no doubt.
But they want to sell companion devices more then they want to add features to existing products.
This is probably the best post I read in a long time, this is 100% true... I'm been waiting for AOD but I'm having doubts Apple is about the whole 9 yards.

The three popular FPS are 24, 25 and 60.

Countries where electricity's frequency syncs with 25 needs phones to shoot at 25FPS otherwise lights (e.g. traffic lights, light bulbs, shop signs, exit signs) will flicker. The workaround involves choosing a shutter speed to prevent flicker but whether that shutter speed is available will depend on the lighting situation. A phone that can shoot 25 FPS doesn't have to depend on lighting situation.

Most Asian countries use 25 FPS PAL. And Samsung sells to Asia. That'a BIG problem and somehow they still don't get it after many years.

And third party apps cannot shoot 25 FPS because its either hardware locked or Samsung OS locked.
Got it, yeah they appear to be selling NTSC standard phones in PAL regions, presumably to avoid bifurcation and complications in production. Frustrating for sure. But do you need to shoot cinema-type videos on your phone? Other than that, 30P is better without being too smooth like 60P.

Finally!!! got my preorders in.. The checkout screen kept removing certain discounts, and I finally gave up on that $50 preorder registration coupon! What a freaking fiasco!

512 is definitely the sweet spot.
