They feel so light

Noticed that too, feels light comparing to my Note 10+ so that's good.

The back feels a bit "cheap
You are just imagining things because Note10+ , 20U and s22U use Aluminium framing which is three times lighter than Stainless Steel.

As for the front the S22 Ultra uses the latest Gorilla glass so physically its never been tougher.

Lol those guys are actually The Osmonds. Donny Osmond is front and center. I was a huge Donny and Marie fan as a little girl.
Aww man, I should have known, the teeth and all...

I saw the funniest video of Donny and Marie covering 'reeling in the years' by Steely Dan, did they not listen to the lyrics before singing that or what?

Anyway, I'm not at all ashamed of confusing the two 🤣

The three popular FPS are 24, 25 and 60.

Countries where electricity's frequency syncs with 25 needs phones to shoot at 25FPS otherwise lights (e.g. traffic lights, light bulbs, shop signs, exit signs) will flicker. The workaround involves choosing a shutter speed to prevent flicker but whether that shutter speed is available will depend on the lighting situation. A phone that can shoot 25 FPS doesn't have to depend on lighting situation.

Most Asian countries use 25 FPS PAL. And Samsung sells to Asia. That'a BIG problem and somehow they still don't get it after many years.

And third party apps cannot shoot 25 FPS because its either hardware locked or Samsung OS locked.
Why this is not a big deal even in those Asian countries where Samsung has been on the top market shares? Because people are no longer consuming content on standard TVs anymore. Majority of people are consuming user created content on Youtube/Tiktok, and/or on their computers/phones/tablets, where NTSC/PAL are no longer a limitation. Most people only use their TVs for movies.

I mean how long Samsung has been selling phones in Asia, and have anyone even cared about this? None that I know of. :)

Lack of 25 FPS will not affect people who don't record videos, or care much about their video quality for professional use.

It's not about watching videos.

It's about recording videos. When you record, you get flicking lights when and where there are lights. When watching your own recorded video on your high end S22, lights will flicker.

Chargers get old and tired. They get dangerous. Why do we have to use old chargers with a new phone? For the ridiculous pricetag you don't even get a new charger??? Disappointed with this kind of penny pinching on a high end piece of tech.

Actually, it was common for lowest end handsets to not include a charger in the past. Many just came with a microUSB cable as a cost cutting method to keep the price low. Of course, you have to give it to Apple to show the world that you can still cut cost while charging customers premium prices.

Apple prices stand stood for 4 years at least, no extra costing for 5G, or for inflation and so on...while samsung since the Note 10 series, the price increased by $200 and now, they copy apple by removing things from packages...but not copying Apple by sticking with their prices.

Was able to take a quick peak at the phones in person today.

If the s22+ had the ultras cameras, I would be getting it instead.

At a glance it looks very similar to the s21 +, but there is something about it that looks really appealing this year.
what is looking really appealing to you vs S21+ ?

What are you talking about?

S20 ultra started at $1400

S22 ultra starts at $1200, and no one who is pre ordering is paying close to that.

Samsung cut $200 off of the price.

Obviously in the minority, but I want the regular 22. Super happy with my 13 PM, but I like both android and iOS and while iPhones are my primary phones I still like to have an android phone. My S9 recently died after 4 years (my fault).

Samsung prices have been the same and lower since s20 ultra

hell I don’t mind paying 1300 for the s22 ultra as it actually is worth it with what the phone can do. I paid 1149 for my 13 pro max and it doesn’t do anything close to what the ultra can do

Also the pre-order bonuses, the included Buds Pro and the 12 Months of Disney Plus. Something Apple does not do.

Wow so inaccurate. I get a new iPhone every year and have been doing this since the very first iPhone.
One thing I have NEVER gotten from apple when preordering in $250 to spend on accessories. Then let’s not start this whole Samsung copies Apple fake misinformation. It is all BS as they ALL copy from each other.

I was really hoping the Ultra wouldn’t have curved edges. My Note 10 was maybe one of favorite phones (until it died anyway), but the curved sides drove me crazy. I think the S22+ looks better than the Ultra, but it’s not the powerhouse the Ultra is.

I'm so weak. I wasn't gonna do it. Then I got sucked in. And I also pre-ordered a Tab S8 Ultra. I have a serious problem ,🤣

Looks like the ZF3 and either the P6P or 13 PM may be up for sale soon.

I really loved my N20 Ultra and missed it when I traded for my ZF3. Really looking forward to this phone.

I ordered a S22 Ultra as well in 512 Phantom Black. While at it, got the S8 Ultra Tab coming. I am having buyers remorse on that one though due to the size I am questioning. Maybe too big. Will see. 13 Pro max will be going in the drawer for a while to try this one out.
