does anyone know what return period Samsung UK offers? I'm really interested to try the S22 Ultra coming from a 13 Pro Max but would like to use it for some time to see if it can work for me and just looking at a display unit for 20 mins wouldn't be enough. I also have an apple watch so would get a galaxy watch 4 then see if the Samsung setup can work for me but it could be an expensive mistake if it doesn't!"

28 days! They are really good with it as well to be fair. I returned the Note 20 Ultra, back when it came out and I had issues with the Exynos and battery life.

Has anyone moved from Apple Watch to galaxy watch 4? How’s the experience been? I used to have a note 8 and I am sure that I would enjoy moving from iPhone to the s22 ultra. But I need a smart watch and ditching my Apple Watch is actually a bigger concern for me as I’m not sure the Samsung watches are as good as their phones?

I did the opposite recently. I went from a GW Classic 4 to a Apple Watch Series 7.

Much of the functionality is the same. Hardware is a little better on the AW. The biggest difference you will notice is software speed and polish. The AW software is a lot smoother and feels more mature and thought out.

I go back and forth between the two. I think the Samsung Classic is much more durable (my stainless apple watch 6 has lots of screen and bezel scratches despite my careful care of it). I think AW OS is easier to navigate and maybe software is overall a bit better but the Samsung watch has better health tracking. I don’t use a lot of apps on either watch besides clock, timer, health and fitness tracking (I prefer using apps through my phones). Each watch plays nice only within its own ecosystem. Battery life isn’t super great on either IMO and could be better.

Apple has a huge advantage in terms of Smart Watches. Every time I try an android watch (the latest being the galaxy watch 4 classic with the Pixel 6 Pro), it feels like there is a disconnect from the phone and the watch. Apples Notifications on the watch are leaps and bounds better. I always feel like I need to check the phone on the Android side, that's not the case on the apple side. I can manage just about everything from an Apple watch if I choose to.

Yes but then again Samsung notifications are so much better than iOS, IMO. Tradeoffs.

Android notifications are sooo much better than IOS. Like Tapatalk for example. In IOS I get on for setting for notifications on Tapatalk. So i get notifications for every little thing and cannot change it.
But on Android I can pick and choose what I want to get notified for.

Jamezr , you absolutely are right that burgundy colour looks fantastic, now i know why Samsung chose this colour to be on their promotion poster.

The battle now is between Black and Burgundy.... couldn't choose instore 🙄.

I also confirmed all s22 models in Australia are SD 🙂 this time around.

Edit.
At last ordered 12/256 model to be picked up 7th March 🙃.

Thanks, defo a good return window! Don’t suppose you know if that also works if you get the phone with finance or the upgrade scheme? It’s easy to return something if laid in full but not sure how it would work if signed up for a finance deal? Not sure I want to part with that much cash in one go!

Looking forward to my green 256 gb S22. It is just about the same size as my S10e but with a bigger screen so it should suit me well. Good deal cost wise from one of the three main telcos here: € 150 deducted from list price, € 150 deducted for trading in my 3 year old S10e, € 200 deducted for transferring my phone line from another provider (not tied to a contract as that is illegal here). So I am paying about 45% of list price plus Samsung will be giving me the Galaxy Buds Pro for free (normally € 229). :)
Sweet deal.

I'm really bummed that Samsung's promos is lackluster in my country. No straight discounts, no free storage upgrade, only a free case and a voucher to spend more money on Samsung accessories (that expires in June). Really lazy.

I think if we’re comparing notifications in general between Apple and Android, we should be talking about system behavior and not specific app behavior. In any case though, Tapatalk on iOS has the same notification options:

Not to add more fuel to the fire, but I neglected to mention that the telco is also giving me a € 75 gift card for their store. Prior to finalizing the deal I went two shops down in the mall to my current telco to see what they could offer if I purchased the S22 from them. They offered no price reduction from the list price, € 30 less for my trade in and I would have had to hand over my current phone immediately so I would have no phone until the S22 arrives. The clerk admitted it was a stupid policy. With my new telco, I have up to 30 days to hand over my trade in phone.

By law my current telco has up to 7 days to release my phone number to my new telco. Today is day 1 and they have already sent me 2 messages offering a lower price on my monthly service. It is very sad how these companies don't give a damn about their long time customers until they see them leaving.

Two questions for those with more experience with Samsung:

- Is Smart Switch the best way to transfer data from my current S10e to my new S22?

- From the little I have been able to find online, it seems the S22 line does not come with the thin factory installed screen protection that my S10e did. Is this the unfortunate reality? I have never used a glass or plastic protector on any of my phones in the past and I would prefer not to start now for weight and/or screen clarity issues.

I found it to be the best but bit slow if you have huge contents.

Yes. The screen is upgraded with Gorilla Glass version 7 or (Victus) refer post #561 video clip. Screen protectors are becoming things of the past so i wouldn't worry about it.

The factory screen protector that came with the Note 10 Plus was perfect. The best I've ever used and even though my mother now has the phone the screen protector still isn't peeling 2 years+ down the line!

Smart Switch on the computer is the way I did it the last time ...

It definitely copied over more stuff than Google is just not good ..lol

No thin film on the new phone so I ordered the same film protector I have on my P6P just for the micro scratches..

This is why SD cards are best. Download your apps, arrange them how you like and then transfer your SMS and Whatsapp messages over. All your photos/videos/documents drop straight in with the SD card. It is so much quicker, stress-free and doesn't involve a PC
