I agree. It's got to be a true red, not faded ketchup stain. But I do think someone simply faded last year's already off-red color.

I was not even considering black but after seeing that video I posted a link to, whoa, I'm interested! 😮
If the battery life hasn’t been improved, I won’t bother with the upgrade. I would like a nice red colour tho, if not the Cotton one is what I will probably get. They have to improve battery life tho.

My S22 Ultra, Exynos isn’t as good as I would like it to be when it comes to battery life. Camera is great, One UI software is great. But battery life is where I want to see gains.

My S23 Ultra battery life has been ok until yesterday and today. I’m not sure what’s going on. It’s currently on the charger and I’m on my iPhone. Some days are like that with ALL my phones.

So I was on the Macy’s app on my iPhone looking for a Valentines gift for my mom.

And I came across this item and the colors immediately reminded me of the fact I’m still undecided on a color. 🤣. There’s just no escaping it, I guess:

So what do you guys think? Cotton white or mystic Lilac?

Looks like if I get this cookware set I can have both in my life! 🤣

Yea mine hasn't exactly been the best. My iPhone 14 Pro Max I can use all day and not have to worry about it, in fact I can use my 14 Pro Max with my Apple Watch Ultra for a day and a half sometimes, (the Apple Watch Ultra easily gets 2 or 3 days use). My s22 Ultra can't do that.

I wonder what behind the scenes shenanigans took place to ensure it’s almost impossible to order/preorder a Samsung flagship phone on the IOS version of the Shop Samsung app.

Older phones come up and refrigerators and Galaxy watches. There’s nothing whatsoever mentioning the upcoming Unpacked event or preorders.

As far as I can remember it’s always been this way. I think it stinks. Apple must have thrown their weight around or something.

There’s a Samsung store app? I’ve not seen that in the App Store on my iPhone.

I think it's called Shop Samsung. I've had it for ages. I don't remember how I found it. Probably when I was purchasing one of my Samsungs from the web site.

Oh goodness it just occurred to me maybe Apple threatened to take 30% as "an in app purchase," 😒

Does anyone know what time Samsung normally open the pre orders after the event? Is it straight away, a few hours later or a day or two later like apple? I’m in the UK if it makes any difference? Haven’t done a Samsung pre order process before but I do remember checking the status of the S22 Ultra during the pre order period and the delivery dates slipped back pretty quick so I want to get my s23 ultra order in straight away

Last year they did pre-orders straight after the recorded event. Im not sure if it will be different this year tho, Wednesdays even is a live in person one with members of the press and some tech YouTubers going.

Im from the UK also, i’m looking forward to us finally getting a SD chip instead of Exynos. I hope that it will help with battery life. The only thing that’s putting me off at the moment is the rumour that we will be getting a price hike by around £100, if Samsung give a decent trade in for my S22 Ultra and some good pre-order bonuses, it may still be worth it for me.

Thanks. My last Samsung was a Note 8 and I’ve been on iPhone ever since so coming back to Samsung for the first time in a long time! I played with a friends S22 Ultra the other day and it really reminded me of the things I really liked from my Note 8 and I’m looking forward to seeing how much Samsung/android/One UI has evolved and improved over the years.

Will also be getting a watch 5 Pro to replace my Apple Watch. That’s probably the part of the switch I’m most nervous about

One UI is much better than what Samsung had years ago. I remember trying a S4 with Touchwiz, the software on that was laggy and just not good. Now tho, Samsung have definitely upped their game when it comes to software.

I have the Watch 4 classic, its a great watch. I still have to have an Apple Watch tho, for my fitness I find the Apple Watch Ultra much better. I run marathons, train hard and I run daily. If it wasn't for that, the Samsung Watch 4 or 5 would of been my only Watch.

I don't know how much more battery life you will notice going from Exynos to the Qualcomm chip, but if everything I've ever heard about the Exynos ownership is accurate, the phone will run cooler for you over a wider range of usage scenarios. There will be some improvements in image processing, though maybe a small less desirable difference here and there. But overall there will be an improvement.

I'm just glad all of us are finally going to get the same chip so that when we discuss the phones we now are finally talking about the same phones! And everyone deserves the best Samsung can make and should not be hampered by this longstanding issue.

Light blue and light green sound like they could be pretty but unfortunately they aren't for the Ultra. The smaller handsets often do get the colors I really would prefer.

Gray. Doesn't sound too exciting, really. But it could end up being very well done.

I'm going to have to look up how Samsung has done reds in the past. Last year's wasn't my favorite version of red.

Oh and as always, thanks for the links!

TSMC-made SD8gen2 should be very good in terms of efficiency+performance, pretty much at the level of Apple's A14 for CPU and A15 for the GPU (and can even surpass A16). But that's TSMC fab. If Samsung uses their own fab, it's well known that Samsung doesn't have a good track record (the disappointing SD8gen1).

If they haven't improved the battery life, I will just stick to what I have now.
