OOOOO! but PLEASE don't point me to fold5 threads :( If it inherits all the goodness from the s23u I'll immediately want it and that's just stupidly extravagant LOL
So you do not want to learn about new AOD on Samsung then ?

The Folds and Flips come out before the S24's so UI updates should hit them 1st

Highly recommend the Galaxy Enhance-X app. Just tried it today and it completely unblurred a picture of my dogs.

It's nice to finally see Android Auto full screen for apps like Google maps and Waze...

I can't wait until I get a new car. I been missing out on Android Auto and Car Play. 😢
I have it in my new PHEV but have only used it once

In Thailand when driving, given at anytime your surrounded by scooters going in every direction including the opposite way you don't have the time to be fiddling with this.

The cars own system is enough with a simple BT connection to my Fold for my mp3 collection :)

I think GM has it right given the complexity of cars systems with charging etc etc AA and CP are too simple IMO

Here in the US especially around my part of New York there is nothing but speeding cameras and red light cameras my Android auto kicks on as soon as I get into the car and it's a must to run Waze for me ...and music ,

You could always drive at the speed limit :D

At least they are static objects in NY, Thailand is whacky races at best and every trip has its own dodgem story :)

You can't hear my music over my swearing LOL

Welp. Just sold my MacBook, ecosystem finally escaped! I'm going to do my best to stay on Android for the forseeable future. I really do like how the platform has evolved. If anything, I might pick up a Pixel 7a when it comes out to have as a 2nd play device.
Are you planning on replacing the MacBook? Or you had no use for it?

I don't think I'm going to. I have my work Windows laptop. The only downfall to that is that I can't download and install programs to it, but I also don't have a great need to. I also have a PixelBook Pro that I sparingly use. I may in the future splurge on a nice laptop, but honestly, had this MacBook for 2 years and maybe took it out once or twice per month. I just do everything on my phone now, lol.

I’m one that likes to switch from my Samsung to my iPhone. I’m really pissed at Apple for taking out the SIM card on US phones. With Verizon I cannot switch esim between the two myself. I have to be on chat with them for 1.5 - 2 hours while they try to figure it out. Eventually it gets done, but what a pia it is. My S23 ultra is on a physical sim only, I’m not adding any esim to it. I now want to sell my 14 pro max, only because I don’t see myself using it as a phone again. If I can sell it, then I will get a 13 pro max, the last one with a physical SIM card. Then I can go back to switching, when I feel like it, really easy.

I know it is probably a glitch with the app but it only happens on Samsung devices. My Apple iPad air has no issues. My Pixel 7 Pro has no issues but my Tab S8, my s23 and my s22 plus that I used to have all do this. I love South Park and it is so frustrating. 😂 Lol.

Hopefully one day there will be a fix.
I haven't read through yet to catch up, but wanted to jump in and say I'm having (and have had since the beginning) the same problem on the Amazon Prime Video app. I didn't notice this slow mo glitch on Netflix so far.

A newer issue I'm noticing but can't tell you when it started is I've noticed indoor photos under any lightning conditions including at an airport have resulted in everything being too bright. (That's equivalent to overexposure, right?). Like a bit washed out and light sources are magnified a bit.

Sorry I'm struggling a bit for words due to migraine from congestion and allergies. I need a couple of days for the Claritin to kick in.

When I first got the S23 Ultra I didn't notice anything bothersome about the photos so I wonder if an update overshot the mark or something. Or maybe I need to dive through the settings?

Lol I am typing this on my S22 Ultra. I'm still using it! At home I use both of my Samsungs. One upstairs and one downstairs. I use it all the time on wifi. It's still the easiest display on my nervous system. It goes through the battery a bit slower since it's not trying to pull in 5G all the time. But for some reason the display shows full bars of signal. It doesn't say 5G, though.

I share your sentiments at Apple taking out the Sim card for US phones. I love my 14 Pro Max though and I am super comfortable, finally, with the camera on it. I got some great prom photos of the kids before they left for prom. Everything was beautifully exposed and there was barely a shot out of focus. I'm keeping this 14 Pro Max and keeping the e sim active in it.

For the first time since my iPhone 4 days, I feel settled on an iPhone for at least a full two years. So while I hate esims because they make switching complicated, I am super happy with this particular phone.

I use my second line (in theory) for switching between Android and my other iPhones (though I don't use them very often outside of WiFi). So far, my second sim has stayed firmly in my s23 Ultra. This is another phone I am really happy with.

I want to try the Pixel 8/8Pro when it comes out but I don't know if I can afford to, yet. We are finally able to start getting hold of contractors and most of them are finally able to get hold of supplies that had been constrained through the pandemic years. So we have this massive backlog of repairs and maintenance work we want to get done in the coming months. We are going to be putting our funds to that.

Yea I think Apple knew what they were doing here. I switched my personal line back to ATT from T-Mobile last week over the phone. I went ahead and just activated it on my 14PM figuring I’ll just swap back to my S23U in a day or two no problem. It’s a pain to switch esim between iPhone and android. It won’t allow me to on ATT online system and I don’t have time for calling in and talking to them for 30 min or going in to the store. Actually been enjoying using the 14PM and iMessage, Airdrop, iCloud sharing with family, etc but I sure miss my S23U and the camera, screen, s pen, etc. I’ll probably get to a store this weekend at some point and get a physical sim, sell my 14PM and use my 13PM when I want to switch it up

This has always been the case for me.... sometimes it doesnt much matter and is just "what you like best" but other times it totally changes the feel of the scene.

A getting dark, moody street photo for example can become like day time (even without night mode) and lose all the atmosphere.

IMHO this is a result of samsungs algorithms leaning towards a longer exposure time rather than wider aperture/higher ISO. As always, the combination of these things decides the look and there's not necessarily a right answer as to which is more pleasing BUT there kinda is a right answer as to which looks most like the original in person scene and I do feel samsung needs to tune its algorithm on that score...

Yes, I think I should have just kept my 13 pro, but then again I say that about every iPhone I previously owned. I did have a 13 mini, but my brother’s basic phone broke, so I gave him my mini. He hates big phones, so the mini was perfect for him. I’ll be using the S23 ultra only for the foreseeable future or until I can get an older iPhone. The S23 is a great phone anyway. What I really like about it is I can have all the text zoomed large, so I don’t need my reading glasses at all. Text is really big, everything is, lol. The iPhone is not capable of getting as big, especially IMessage, which I can still read without reading glasses, but I like the larger text. When I show co-workers a text message on my Samsung, they saw “wow, that’s big”. LOL

Switch to Visible they make switching eSIMs so painless take like 2-3 minutes all done from the app.
