Truthfully? I'm exactly the same, I just don't see the magic in iMessage. I am the only one in my family with Android, my son, daughter and grand kids all have an iPhone and we just text. I can't see what I am missing.Curious question for y'all. Why do you "need" iMessage. Don't get me wrong. I like iMessage more than what Android offers, but since switching, I never felt like I absolutely needed it for any reason. I just text people now.
Yep exactly. I will say though, I'm not involved in any huge group texts, so maybe that's why.Truthfully? I'm exactly the same, I just don't see the magic in iMessage. We have a family WhatsApp group, it works great.Yep exactly. I will say though, I'm not involved in any huge group texts, so maybe that's why.

It's not necessarily a "need" factor. I now decided to use BlueBubbles in anticipation of getting that invite from Sunbird or Beeper.Curious question for y'all. Why do you "need" iMessage. More than anything the convenience of media sharing. Football is starting back up and all the other coaches on our team have iPhones. I'm the one that messes up the group chats and makes it where we can't send full res videos, game film, etc back and forth. I know there are other alternatives but hard to ask everyone else to change just for myself. Also with wife and kids on the iPhone it sure is convenient to have airdrop and imessage as well. Using the 14PM the last few weeks has shown me just how much I prefer my S23U or Pixel to the iPhone. I have to have either of them with me as I just don't care for the 14PM for taking pictures and video, however, using the iPhone has also shown me how convenient some things are with iOS.Curious question for y'all. Yeah I signed up for Beeper back in September and still nothingFor me personally, most of my contacts use imessage by default which means they throw pictures/videos etc at me over imessage.. if I'm on an android, they come through as a picture message which is chargeable (stupidly).
There's a lesser problem which is when people see a green bubble they text less. yeah I know, could be a blessing ;-) but I don't hear from imessagy people nearly as much when they get a green bubble back. Stupid? yep.
If imessage stopped tomorrow and everyone used whatsapp or messenger or a.n.other I would be fine and I wouldn't care at all.
In the meantime I use bluebubbles which is work brilliantly but I'd love beeper.... applied weeks and weeks ago but nothing.
Have you figured out the Private API features under BlueBubbles?More than anything the convenience of media sharing. Football is starting back up and all the other coaches on our team have iPhones. You only have to tie your shoes once a day maybe twiceS23 Ultra still my favorite phone so far. Love/hate the screen size lol. Appreciate that it's huge but damn it's annoying to kneel down to tie my shoes with it in my pants front pocket lol. I still alternate with my Fold 4 and appreciate both their strengths. Using each make me miss the other's features haha.
I still haven't messed a whole lot with BlueBubbles. Been using AirMessage mostly, because lack of time and laziness....Have you figured out the Private API features under BlueBubbles?
I was struggling with it trying to decide why it wasn't working... downloaded MacForge and MySMBL determining which one could get it to work. But realized I was using the wrong MacForge version lol. I needed the one specifically for Apple Silicon (they had it in a separate tab).
It's been awhile since I've used iMessage on Android... last time I used it was with AirMessage, but BlueBubbles is great... kudos to the devs! I shouldn't have waited this long to use it...
Fair enough, but I highly recommend BlueBubbles... primarily for the read receipts, that was one of my annoyances when it came to using iMessage for Android.I still haven't messed a whole lot with BlueBubbles. Been using AirMessage mostly, because lack of time and laziness....
There's really only two choices when it comes to iMessage for Android.. BlueBubbles or AirMessage, because there's a waiting list for Beeper and Sunbird.might have to get bluebubbles a go and only carry one phone from time to time- any other services that people recommend?
To send full res photos in WhatsApp just attach as document instead, this option has been around for agesIt's not necessarily a "need" factor. I now decided to use BlueBubbles in anticipation of getting that invite from Sunbird or Beeper.
I'm not going to speak for everyone, but for me... it enriches the conversation shared between my family and friends. Let's look at it from the perspective of countries that use WhatsApp or Line app... I know initially the reason those countries switch were due to SMS fees, but nowadays its more to enhance your messaging.
But one key factor for me is being able to send full resolution photos.

Sending as photos is for send/receive speed and cost for those on limited plans
What many places LOL this Imessages thing is mainly in US and even then although Apple has a dominant market share in US it is still only around 60%...if the recipient uses whatsapp. If they're only on imessage, as is the case in many places, then uhoh.

How do you guys gals feel about the security of these apps for iMessage?
Yeah I'm a bit leery with it though I've not done enough research ...I really have no reason to join other than curiosity...I'm running iphone on separate line daily so I have my iMessageshmmm yeah I know what you mean. There's probably some explanation somewhere of why we shouldn't worry but still doesn't feel great.
luckily anyone listening into my messages would be very bored very quickly ok I guess there's mfa codes if we're being accurate which is a concern.
