Well the s23 ultra is still battery king/Queen!

I just don't have battery anxiety with it. I don't do anything to extend battery life other than the adaptive battery. Quad hd and standard profile in battery settings.

I never have slow downs no matter how much I push the phone. It doesn't heat up unless it is fast charging.

Performance is really good. The screen is great. Although I would like to see a higher PWM.

If Samsung releases a flat screen, oh please Samsung make this phone with a flat screen and just updated the processor and maybe up the ram to 16gb and just refined the camera software and AI call screening I think it would be enough for me to upgrade.

Honestly though I don't think it would be needed. This seems like a solid two year phone minimum.

Just wish there were less pre installed apps and bring back an option to restore the phone via PC on smart switch.
It for sure is. I didn't use the phone much yesterday. Maybe 2 hours SOT, but when I went to bed it was at 68%. Probably not the most impressive number ever, but it was sitting in the sun when we were at the pool, so I wonder expect some standby. I just hope Samsung doesn't do anything different with the S24 Ultra and that this kind of battery life becomes the norm.

I took my phone off the charger yesterday morning around 10am and a busy day so used it but not like normal SOT more casual usage ...it's at 50% now this morning ...with about 22.5 hours off charge ..checked emails and social media ..took pics and listened to music on Android Auto on a few short trips …a little YouTube …

And this is the reason I haven't switched back to iOS because I know that **** will happen. Haha

Hahaha, the thing is I’ve never regretted selling a Samsung device before. I don’t regret selling my Tab S8 Ultra, but for some reason i do regret selling my S23 Ultra. I think it’s the tinkering about with Android and the S-Pen

Just ordered an s23 ultra again. NHS discount, free airbuds pro 2 and £200 cash back.

Too good a deal to miss

Again? Did you sell like I did and regret it

I can get a discount through my perks at work and the £200 cash back, plus the buds pro 2 (altho they are a couple of weeks out for delivery).

Massive dilemma now, do I once again buy and admit I was a fool for selling in the first place, or do I hold out and see if better offers come along, OR just wait it out until the S24 Ultra next years. Ahhhhhh the agony of choice!!!

I am of the opinion that iMessage is an American thing, or should I say the reliance on it is an American thing. This isn't a slur or criticism, it's just what I have been seeing. I live in the UK and get free calls, texts and messages so I don't miss it in any way. Truthfully, when people say they don't answer or don't get answered if they have a green bubble, it's just beyond my comprehension.

It seems that way.

Annoying though sending images via WhatsApp they are compressed to buggery but iMessage to iMessage it’s full quality..

So what did you get in it's place?

If you went the Apple route I would have waited until September since iPhone 15 will be released with a17, periscope camera, and USB c.

I don't know what to tell you? I don't know if I would buy the s23 ultra again unless you could get a really good deal. Maybe wait for sales later this summer or during November. There should be good discounts then.

Alternatively you could get a cheaper Samsung Galaxy like the regular s23 on sale or a Pixel 7a. But Pixel 8 will be released along with iPhone 15.

Now is really not a good time to buy unless you can get a really good discount.

In terms of buyers remorse. I constantly sell my old stuff-usually not that old- and buy new stuff with the proceeds and every time or at least 9 out of 10 times I regret it or tend to miss something. Then when the new item arrives, generally it is a better device so I just immerse myself in it.

There have been a few times where I regretted the sale and new purchase and just either returned what I got new and bought something else and dealt with it until I got a better device.

I’ve got an iPhone 14 Pro Max, i have had it since it came out. My S23 Ultra was my second phone. I’ll probably sit it out now and wait until the S24 Ultra or even see what they announce with the Fold 5 in July, I’m just not sold on foldables.

I sold my S23 Ultra but regret selling it, i dont regret buying it. It’s my own fault for being stupid and selling it thinking I wouldn’t miss it

Don't be so hard on yourself. We all have been there.

Your iPhone is a great phone. You can use that money to upgrade your iPhone.

In terms of Android I think the Pixel 8 Pro might be a sleeper hit this year. I could be wrong but I am pretty excited for it.

Just hoping they made decent improvement to the chip.

What's the difference with the "unlocked" version at Best Buy, Vls.v the carrier versions?

Only way I would buy a Samsung phone again would be if it could be rooted with an unlocked bootloader.

Or if a lot of the duplicate apps and below where they put on there could be permanently deleted.

I am not sure there is a difference.

However it must be a long time since you used a Samsung phone?

Go to XDA developers website and look for Samsung declutter. Generally there is a thread for specific models like s23, etc.

Then all you need is ADB to remove any apps you don't like without having to root and trip Knox.

You can also disable most of the apps you can't uninstall and then for the rest you can put to sleep or deep sleep from within the OS.

I am not sure you can unlock the bootloader anymore anyway.

If you want full control best to get a Pixel and have at it.

Thank you, I'd just want to uninstall some bloatware and the Bixby stuff

This should do it for you. You will need a good usb c data cable and PC and you should be good to go.

Good luck 👍

I've learned a lesson, not to sell the next Samsung phone I buy just because I think I'm not using it enough. My iPhone 14 Pro Max is a great phone and I don't regret owning it, I just think the S23 Ultra is a completely different device, the S-Pen is what attracted me in the first place.

Pixel phones I've never tried, I've heard very mixed reviews. I think I will wait until next month when Samsung have their unpacked event, see what they announce with the Fold 5, however from what I've seen with foldables, i'm not that impressed.

I would have gone Lavender because I like a light purple, however from the online videos it looks more pink.

On another note, has anyone tried the Buds Pro 2 that come free with the purchase of the S23 Ultra?

I’m thinking it’s not a bad deal, £200 cash back, £200 off the price with my dads blue Light card, plus £150 trade in for ANY device (will be trading in my mums old iPhone SE first gen) and the Buds Pro 2 as a free gift.

I have them and they're great. Actually more comfortable than airpods imo.

I should add that the sound is really nice as well. My biggest complaint in prior iterations was that the Galaxy Buds were always too focused on dynamics and the bass would drown out the mids, but like everything else, Samsung has really upped their game this time around.

would you say that they are as good as the Airpod Pro?
