Anyone ever have an issue with Wifi where it keeps disconnecting even though your other devices connect just fine? It just keeps turning off and saying "Connected without Internet".

This was a known issue. Updates should fixed the problem but sometimes an update doesn't completely work.

I would reset the phone if the issue persists.

Unfortunately with Samsung devices you can't completely wipe the device and flash the firmware and start over with the latest update. I have complained to Samsung about this. You used to be able to do it with a program like Smart Switch.

Pixel and iPhone you can do this and it can be really helpful for persistent or intermittent issues.

The other thing you can try instead of a complete reset is to just reset the wifi and cellular. You will have to enter your wifi password again but this alone might solve the situation. Can't hurt to try first.

Thanks! Yeah so far it's been good today. I am definitely not going to do another factory reset. I did that to improve my battery a few months ago and setting it back up was such a chore. So crossing my fingers it was a one off!

Of course you can.

Just down Odin, and that will allow you to reflash the firmware. There is another program, Frijia or something like that to download the firmware flashes.

Go on XDA, there is a lot of info there. I used to do it all the time years ago with other Sammy's, but haven't done it in awhile.

I really like SamFW Tool for change csc or flash firmware

I am talking about official software. Sure you can use Odin or some other tool and get firmware from an unofficial source but I am not doing any of that on a $1400 phone.

I have had a lot of issues with Odin in the past. When it works it is great but I have soft bricked devices with it and I am not going down that road.

Also unless it is official firmware from an official source you don't know if it has been tampered with.

Also the gentleman who I was giving advice to used to have an iPhone so I don't think he would be familiar with flashing firmware on Android with Odin. I don't want to advise someone to do something that has a chance of causing software problems way bigger than the wifi not connecting.

Plus flashing firmware on Samsung phone may void your warranty.

I know, Samsung may never know but I am talking about when things don't go as planned.

I think it is irresponsible to suggest that people do something that could potentially damage their phone irreversibly and possibly void a warranty by using software that is not officially supported for a small software bug.

If I had a persistent issue that could only be resolved by flashing the firmware on a Samsung phone I would send it to Samsung to do it. The only exception would be a very old out of warranty phone that was not expensive. It sucks and is a huge hassle when Apple and Google allow you to do this with official software and tools. And the fact that Samsung doesn't allow you to flash firmware with official software was the point I was making.

The firmware from Sammobile is official software.

Flashing via Odin does not trip Knox nor invalidate the warranty either. I’ve used it many times without issue.

Not the same thing as using Pixel flash tool or Apple official support to flash firmware. It is not officially supported by Samsung. If you do something wrong and brick your device Samsung is not going to give warranty support. Last time I checked Sammobile was not Samsung? They may have someone downloading the firmware but how would you be able to verify that it had not been altered?

Whether you have done it many times without issue is not the point and doesn’t guarantee anyone else will have the same experience.

But sure tell someone who is more familiar with Apple software than Android to flash using Odin when Odin won’t even work on a Mac and they would not have a clue what they are doing?

I never said it was not possible to flash but that it was irresponsible to recommend to a novice for such an expensive device. I would never trust any firmware that I could not get directly from manufacturer anyway regardless if it was a trustworthy site or not. Times have changed from custom rom days. But this is just my opinion.

I completely understand advising a noob to flash their device is irresponsible… but according to Samsung Members using Odin and an official Samsung firmware will not void your warranty. And obviously, anything can get screwed when downloading firmware whether its from an official source or not.

Heck, Apple or Google send out updates that has the potential to cause all kinds of issues. Don’t get me wrong, it’s important to make sure whatever you download is from a reputable source. But I trust SamMobile or XDA when downloading firmware like the millions who do and it’s completely okay if you don’t.

And you did mention this when initially discussed. That’s why @MaskedCarrot responded claiming it’s possible via Odin.

You can get official Samsung firmware from SamMobile and flash in Odin.

I actually said there was no official software to flash not that you couldn't do it through official means. If I stated as a blank statement that was an error on my part as I was comparing it to Pixel and Apple phones which have official support to flash your phone.

Well the s23 ultra is still battery king/Queen!

I just don't have battery anxiety with it. I don't do anything to extend battery life other than the adaptive battery. Quad hd and standard profile in battery settings.

I never have slow downs no matter how much I push the phone. It doesn't heat up unless it is fast charging.

Performance is really good. The screen is great. Although I would like to see a higher PWM.

If Samsung releases a flat screen, oh please Samsung make this phone with a flat screen and just updated the processor and maybe up the ram to 16gb and just refined the camera software and AI call screening I think it would be enough for me to upgrade.

Honestly though I don't think it would be needed. This seems like a solid two year phone minimum.

Just wish there were less pre installed apps and bring back an option to restore the phone via PC on smart switch.

ALWAYS buy more than you think you need. Because, what you think you need is never enough. Ask me how I know.
