Lol yep dbrand skins are the best. My daughter was begging me to get a new iphone because she wanted a white one (she has the sierra blue iPhone 13 pro). Dbrand matte white skin to the rescue for a little over $15.

they look great on too…easy install and you can change em up

I don't know that I could ever use a phone again that DOESN'T have 10x Optical Zoom. Here's a picture from last night's game. Simply amazing.

yep exactly.... two things that I really notice when I pick up my iphone v s23u, that lack of a 10x zoom and speed of operation (silly long ios animations)
For sure! It's to the point where 10x Zoom has become a must have practical feature.

I actually like the animations :( one of the reasons I still cannot decide between 14pm and 23U

I know what you mean and if I'd never tried the s23u I probably wouldn't even think about it, but wow having seen what near-instant is like, going back to the iphone really does feel slow.

Things that would keep me on 14pm are secure faceid, app quality, imessage, ecosystem (although beeper takes care of imessage mostly)

Not seeing the app quality argument myself.

yeah every time I mention it, people say nope not seeing it.

I guess it all depends which apps you use as to how much if any difference you see.

It doesn't stop me enjoying the s23u and it's certainly far from every app, it's just something that I notice.

There will be some apps that are better on iOS and some that are better on Android but the vast majority are almost identical.

Likewise there will be some apps we love that aren't available on iOS and some apps that aren't available on Android. It's just the way it goes but for the most part the app experience is almost identical on both platforms IME.

yeah I'm sure that's fair and accurate, it's just that the experience will vary depending on the selection of apps a particular user chooses.

I guess what I'm saying is objectively it's probably even, but subjectively, which is what matters to an individual, it can be quite noticeable.

Apps are simply more polished and look better on IOS for me. All social media seems more optimised certainly apps like snapchat, instagram (stories), tik tok these kind of apps are better on IOS if you are for example a content creator. android still does not play nice if you use these posts to post. browsing not so much.

That said you're right the apps on the ultra and android is good and not a deal breaker they are just more pleasing to me on IOS. I for one hate the twitter app for android. Feels buggy and just doesn't feel good when scrolling.

I know I've said this a few times, but if there is still a gap between app quality, it's never been smaller than it is today. App quality used to be one of the reasons I always returned to Apple. But I really don't see an issue or less polish on Android anymore. The only one I will agree with is Twitter, but it's still not bad. Just not as smooth for some reason. But screw Elon. I use Threads more now anyway.

I'm a diehard Nexus / Pixel user, but I have had a few iPhone's over the years, not many, maybe 2 or 3 the past 15 years. My last iPhone was the 12 Pro Max, and that was few years ago, and I will say the apps were indded just a bit better, more Settings options that just aren't in the same app on Android, they moved a bit more fluid smooth.

And I hate iOS think it's a dog poo OS, but I will say apps wise they just seemed more polished, more options, and ran better on the iPhone 12 Pro Max than they did on my Pixel 4 XL at the time.

Specifically the extra settings options I really liked, that for some reason were just absent and not in the Android version of the exact same app. You could individually change the font size or theme or certain things in the iOS app, but in the Android app those options just did not exist.

But that was 3 years ago, things have probably changed since then? I have zero intention on getting a new iPhone anytime soon, just do not like iOS at all. But I will say hardware wise the iPhone 15 Pro does look extremely impressive, it will be the top dog smartphone king of 2023, as far as best hardware.

But I'm a weirdo, every time I go to BestBuy I will stop by the Apple section and play with the latest Pro Max phone, and always have been super impressed with the fluid smooth operation of them, and I do love the FLAT display, and the rounded corners / shape of the phone. But then I think deeper, and realize how frustrated I get with iOS compared to stock Android, and then put the phone down and walk away. ( day dreaming we could flash a stock vanilla Android ROM on an iPhone LOL )

What are you seeing that impresses you? I mean I HOPE it's impressive, I always keep both an iphone and samsung up to date, but so far I'm just seeing usbc, rumoured 5x zoom (v 10x on s23u), action button and the usual slightly faster cpu etc..

I'm hoping I've missed some killer features!

hehe funny how people differ, that's almost the exact opposite of me. I think my 14pm rounded corners etc looks really old and boring v the s23u shape.

This year samsung really has impressed me though, I think Apple is going to need to up its game

The hardware inside the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro looks mighty impressive, maybe the biggest iPhone upgrade in YEARS.

-A17 chip being built on the new 3nm process = extremely efficient for amazing battery life, but also super high performance as well. The A17 is supposed to be a big deal, major leap forward.
-Larger sized batteries going into the 15 Pro's
-Brighter displays, rumored to go up to 2400nits, which is crazy bright
-8GB RAM up from 6GB
-Titanium frame for the phone, less prone to scratching, and lighter weight
-Thinner / narrower bezels
-Shape of the phone, to have a slightly more rounded feel or curve, and not as sharp pointy feel it has now.
-But sadly it runs iOS boo

Titanium is way more prone to scratching. I've had a couple of titanium watches and never will I go there again. It's lighter and it's stronger than steel but it scratches like a mofo unless coated with something.

Have a question for the Samsung community🙂
Been using a S23 256 for a couple of months now, after a long period of iPhones, and i really like the phone except the message apps.

Which messages app are you using?

I dont like the Googles RCS app, because it's so buggy and crashing constantly.

I dont like the Samsung message app either, because the app splice the message in half (if its long), and you have to click on "show more" to read the whole message.
And then you have to go back to the former screen to start texting, and you still can't see the whole message.
Who on Samsung did think this was logical?

Sorry for my rant, but which app are you using? Whats app?🙂

Here in Finland I have used both Samsung and iPhone. All my colleagues, friends and enemies, whether using an iPhone or Samsung use WhatsApp.

I've never had an issue with Google's messages app did you clear data on the app? That's my go-to app on all my Android phones when I'm switching but as others have said here WhatsApp would be the next thing..
