I agree. I've been on the Pixel 7 Pro since launch, and for texts I use Google messages ut never crashes. It seems super rock solid.

Numerous other apps installed. I can't really recall of any crashes or random reboots or odd behavior. No, it just works

I know this is nothing amazing, and I'm sure everyone else knows, but coming from an iphone this just makes me smile....

I noticed today that I can move the different types of photo into the main photo app bar so instead of needing to select more to get to a type I use frequently, it's just there.

ok tiny thing but will actually make a big difference to me and not something I could ever imagine apple doing

That's always been one of my favorite features. And how you can organize it differently too.

This also reminds me that I don't use Single Take nearly enough. I've gotten some great shots from that in the past.

Have a question for the Samsung community🙂
Been using a S23 256 for a couple of months now, after a long period of iPhones, and i really like the phone except the message apps.

Which messages app are you using?

I dont like the Googles RCS app, because it's so buggy and crashing constantly.

I dont like the Samsung message app either, because the app splice the message in half (if its long), and you have to click on "show more" to read the whole message.
And then you have to go back to the former screen to start texting, and you still can't see the whole message.
Who on Samsung did think this was logical?

Sorry for my rant, but which app are you using? Whats app?🙂
The Google Messages app has been flawless for me. My favorite messaging app regardless of platform.

Glad that your experience is better than mine.
Actually Google Messages app have been good until last Sunday.

I had to text a couple of friend's about something important.
And i couldn't send the text.
The phone said that i have to tap "groupconversation" on the phone and toogle it on.
I checked and it was on...
Tapped it on and off, and still the same: couldn't send because it was off.
Restarted the phone and couldn't still send.

Tried the Samsung Messages app (which i hate) and it worked directly🤣

Never touched the Google Message app since.

So yesterday I sold my 14PM and I’m officially free from walled up Apple ecosystem, having sold my iPad Pro and AirPods too.
My daily driver is the S23U and I am really happy about it. It has so many advantages over 14PM, and Android feels much better than the restricted iOS. Camera on the S23U and especially the 10x zoom is simply amazing, OneUI is fast and snappy, with zero lag. Battery lasts me 2 full days, couldn’t be happier. While on the other side, Apple is trying to milk every penny out of us by selling us overpriced accessories (that rumoured TB cable for 15 Pro’s for 120$ is just a joke), and not even mentioning the price of higher storage options. Here on S23U I have 512gb of fastest storage in any smartphone and 12gb of future proof RAM. Apple is really behind and punishes as soon as you want to leave the ecosystem, so I got rid of it all together, despite having hundreds of dollars worth of movies on Apple TV and many many books in iBooks.

Full on Android from now on.

I did the same approx 7 years ago. Never looked back.

Galaxy S

hello.
Introducing the Galaxy S23 Camera / Gallery August update.

With the efforts of many developers, we are happy to finally be able to provide the crop zoom that members have suggested and have been waiting for a long time.
In addition, we have optimized the rear digital zoom quality and high-pixel detail in photo mode, and we will notify you as soon as the model that can be supported is confirmed under development review.
We have optimized the camera quality and camera/gallery performance by referring to the feedback left by members, so if you have any questions while using it, we will respond quickly.

1. During 2x zoom operation in photo/video mode, the high-resolution sensor crops to provide optical lens-level image quality, and a 2x zoom lens icon can be added through the Camera Assistant.
In addition, you can add a 2x zoom icon in the video Super Steady on the S23 Ultra model.
▷ Camera Assistant > Crop Zoom (Optical Quality Crop Zoom) On : 2x zoom icon displayed in photo/movie mode

2. The AI deep learning technology-based digital zoom picture quality improvement solution applied to the photo mode of Z Fold5/Flip5 (operating in a specific zoom magnification range) was also reflected and optimized for the S23.

3. Optimized details by improving the blur of normal illumination when shooting high-pixel 50MP/200MP in photo mode, and optimized shadow noise.

4. Optimized the file size when shooting motion photos in photo mode.

5. Improved motion blur when shooting moving subjects in photo mode.

6. Optimized camera performance (inter-shot interval, super-steady frame drop, etc.) to improve various shooting experiences in photo/video mode.

7. Increased the frame rate of Big Circle, Color Point, and Glitch effects from 24fps to 30fps in portrait video mode.

8. Adjusted intensity for natural face shape correction in front photo mode.

9. Adjusted the focus position to reduce peripheral image blur when shooting close-up subjects in the rear photo mode of the S23 and S23+ models.

10. The FAQ of CamCyclopedia has been updated.
Nice.

A little late the party but on Wednesday last week I got my S23 in Graphite form my provider!!

I LOVE this phone! Great balance in weight (feels the same as the iPhone 13 mini I briefly had and a LOT lighter in the hand it feels va the iPhone 14 Pro, yet smaller in size - height especially. I'm able to cope quite well to the 6.1" screen.

Initial experience NOT too well.
Smart Switch (Google app) did NOT prompt me on what I needed for migration!
I didn't get when I selected wireless on first attempt what why it said disconnect cable when done (wtf)?? I tried from icloud backup- terrible idea this is not an iPhone to restore to.
Finally after 4 days I migrated safari bookmark and folders to Samsungs Internet browser.

After over 15 YouTuber switcher posts NOT ANY SINGLE ONE actually mentions no app, no service, and not 1 step they USED to switch nor even what specic ally is missed!!! Made me super vexed - websites also very blank as well as reddit or Google own Smart Switch! It's like the entire space in terms of smartphones is too focused on specs and camera capability!!

Anyhow still having to manually e ter passwords sourced from ios passwords to Chrome before I import into the samsung account for Internet browser as well. I don't see myself using anything other than Samsung Android or OnePlus Open (or Oppo's Find N3) phones going forward.

The worst part of the experience is:
Realizing any of Apple's HideMy Relay Service is painful not only to unlink from your apple ID but in doing so many services never knew your icloud account due to forwarding so setting up a new email address to login to your account may lead to a dead end. :(

Sorry through worst is manually capturing and pasting passwords from safari to chrome on iOS since without a Mac your held prisoner as NO ios browser or password app has ability to export in bulk. Nor even. 1 at a time. Didn't stop me!

SAMSUNG DEX! I love this, lots of great potential such as possibly using GDP's G1 AMD 7600m eGPU slim tiny dock for serious PC gaming !! For now I can use mirror casting to my FireStick 4K to my simple lcd 32" TV that's 1080P 60hz so Dex says it's not optimized but it does quit well.

Question ... the side panel. How do I get it to have 2 slides vs 1 when I add more apps to it? I'd like to swipe in one time and get 1 colum. Then swipe in again to get another single column, and not what I have pictured here? Tha KS

Has anyone with the August update noticed an improvement in battery life? It's not really great on S23U, but I don't have the update yet - looks like Europe is still waiting..

Congratulations on your new phone I'm sorry to hear that you had issues with the copy over to the new phone.. when you say smart switch Google app did you not use the Smart switch from Samsung? I don't think that app edge panel is set up to go to a single column once you start adding some apps to it... There might be another edge type that you can add by going to the store I will have to look and see if there's one that lets you set up more apps on it..

It gets easier, don't worry. There's always a bit of a learning curve.

For the side label, click the settings button shown below. I highly recommend the calculator panel!

Yeah, this is pretty much the most perfect phone I've ever owned. The ONLY complaint I have is more of an Android complaint. I still have phone calls that go straight to VM and the occasional texts that won't send. I've tried every troubleshooting step as well as testing via T-Mobile. So it is what it is. Otherwise, perfect phone!

I think that is a T-Mobile thing. I was having the exact thing happen on my P7P and S23U when on T-Mobile. I switched back to AT&T and have not had this happen a single time in the few months that I've been back with AT&T. It sucks because here in the Dallas area AT&T has so much congestion (everyone in DFW has AT&T) that T-Mobile's data speeds are so much better and more consistent but I just can't take chances on not getting calls. AT&T has been rolling out additional c-band spectrum in the last few weeks, upping their bandwidth to 120 mhz and I've noticed substantial improvement in many areas of DFW. Once they are complete this should help much of the congestion issues.

Another thing I have noticed on T-Mobile is my batteries drain significantly faster whether my e-sim is on my S23U, Pixel, or iPhone 14PM. Not sure what it is but I've tested on all devices and when the AT&T e-sim is on they all fare much better.

Regarding the S23U, I agree it is near perfect. Best, most polished device on the market in my opinion. My only complaint is that it doesn't fold 😆

That sucks about T-Mobile. My wife keeps telling me that we should go back to Verizon, but they're too expensive.

Not sure what area you are in but Verizon is probably the worst here in DFW. They are way behind in their 5g network rollout, although, like AT&T, they have begun to deploy more C-Band. But their 5g footprint is so small compared to the other two at the moment.

T-Mobile is definitely hard to beat on price. I think they still do the 3rd line free and they include all taxes and fees in the cost per line and I love those data speeds. I'm a big fan of them, just wish I could rely on them more for calls and the connectivity was a little better at my office. I'd switch back in a heartbeat.

I'm on T-Mobile right now and actually left Verizon a little bit ago.. getting the opposite around the house where Verizon was dropping calls all over the place and now with T-Mobile I'm good... It all depends on your area and why I tell people you have to experiment on your own what's good for one person might not be good for the other...
