Even the app shelf isn't great. The fact you can't organise them how you prefer seems like an odd decision to make by apple
App Library is quite possibly the worst software decision Apple has ever made. They went from intuitive to completely confusing and unorganized. And the fact that they're unwilling to realize how awful it is and change it speaks volumes.

I just pulled down to search for the apps so much easier than using that app library..

I keep my screen pretty clear of everything other than four folders which have most of them pouring stuff at the beginning for daily use..

Hope it is a lot more stable than the first Beta. I couldn't take it. Maybe I will give it a go again??

You don't realize how much you take things like stability for granted.

Made me appreciate the work that goes into the finished product. I think if is a good idea that we all try a Beta every now and then to give feedback on the issues in the current Beta and even long standing issues. So if there is a feature you want to see in OneUI you can make a suggestion. The developers may make those changes or maybe something close.

While on the other side, Apple is trying to milk every penny out of us by selling us overpriced accessories (that rumoured TB cable for 15 Pro’s for 120$ is just a joke), and not even mentioning the price of higher storage options.

You don’t have to use Apple’s thunderbolt cable (or any of their accessories specifically), and it’s not as if quality thunderbolt cables are that readily sold by other android OEMs (because what android device supports thunderbolt transfer speeds?).

Hate on Apple all you want. At least hate right.

I haven't had any issues with the new beta. It has been rock solid for me.

Im sure something will annoy me but so far I'm really pleased with it. It's made a lot of little changes to bring the design closer to Apple (which I know will make some people scream). I mean things like the notification bubbles, the consistency, the icons, even the font looks better.

Very impressed so far

Do we know normally when these betas become actual releases? Like will I even see this on my S23 ultra before I upgrade to the S24 ultra?

s23u is the first time I've stuck with android long enough to mess so I'm not sure but I THINK I remember friends saying that their s22u got the actual release of one ui 5 in november 2022... so I guess we'd be looking at nov/dec 23?

On ios I've always done this!

Utilizing universal search to find ANY file or data within- saves having ti remnebr the file, a HYGE computing paradigm shift to be honest (thanks Unix and MACH kernels).

With the Google 1 row widget on AndoidOS on my S23 I do thr same thing and honestly I'm SUPER surprised just how equally fast it is and accurate just like what I was used to on ios!

I honestly thought that was unique to ios and its not. Also love the dictionary search for highlighted words, another item I thought was unique to ios - but it is a lot better polished therein.

perhaps it has already been written, but I have not read all the previous messages, I would like to know if the problem of blurry photos in s23 and s23+ has been resolved,
Thank you.

How do you get the Google one widget? It's not on my list of available widgets?

By the way, you can also search universal from the One UI app drawer

Tap & Hold the main (or any of your home screens) and the Home Screen Editor will show up.
Bottom lleft of the screen you'll see 'Widgets"
select and search for Google (in the top search bar)
you'll see the results "Google 4" which you can use the chevron to expand and there you'll see the 1 row Google search bar.

My S23 had this there by default - you can addd/remove at your leisure.
Saves me from 2 finger swiping fromt he top and selectinhg the top right corner of the On UI app drawer for searches ;) Also its a universla like search: Apps, web, files, etc. results are very accurate.

First time I'd actually seen/heard this guy and as much as I'm loving my s23u, I think he was pretty spot on with everything he said.

In fact it reminded me a lot of Steve Jobs interviews where he was talking about how Microsoft just lacked taste and didn't inject culture into anything they made. Samsung does feel a bit soulless in that sense... everything by the book, but not necessarily something to feel passionate or inspired by.

Didn't put me off my s23u which is still the best phone I've used, but I'll pay that guy and his company a bit more attention in the future I think.

As you know I'm a diehard Nexus / Pixel guy, but open to other brands if they're truly as good or better.

Don't know why I'm always so tempted by the S23 Ultra? I keep reading about the stellar battery life, and amazing bright screen, and that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 being far superior than Tensor 2

But...is the S23 Ultra smooth and fluid with little to zero hiccups or microstters? Meaning as smooth as a Pixel 7 Pro?

Everything I read online approx 75% people saying the S23 Ultra is way better and faster and just as smooth as the 7 Pro. But then I also read about 25% of people saying it still runs Lagwiz and just isn't on par animation wise and fluid wise as a Pixel or newer iPhone?

If not, why is that? The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has the best fastest hardware of any Android phone, so why isn't is as smooth and watery fluid as a Pixel? It should destroy it, but I hear it doesn't. What's up with that? Or am I wrong here?
