I ordered at 1st and received on the 2nd of February directly from Samsung in Europe. The phone is great, especially without exinos chip. Good luck to receive as soon as possible. I do not think that 7th or 13th is a mistake.
Congratulations on your phone enjoy it! Happy to see some new owners with the new phone..

Galaxy S23 Ultra reserves 70GB of storage just for system files? Sounds excessive but to be honest I don't know the details.

Wow. I'm glad I got the 1 TB model after all. Unfortunately, 256 GB was never going to be an option for me because I would have that filled already. There had been a lot of older footage I'd had stored on an SD card from older phones that I now move to each new Samsung's storage.

512 GB would have worked, and was my original choice, especially as I very recently discussed on this forum that I was moving into a phase of my life where I was going to be taking fewer photos and videos as I edge towards the empty nest stage.

But thinking it over, I'm probably going to be able to do more fun things now. True, there will be far fewer kid photos. But there will be more landscape photos and, hopefully, more interesting travel photos.

But at 512 GB, because I already have a lot stored on my Samsung, I would have had to be conservative about trying 8k video and higher resolution photos.

I figured, you know what, it sucks I already have to watch how much space my butt is taking up in my clothes. (Ma'am, step away from that donut!) ☹️

So I don't to want to have to maintain similar vigilance about how much space I'm filling in my phone's storage. I may not be able to eat that damned donut, but I can take gorgeous 8k footage and detailed high resolution photos of it.

I can make a beautiful heartrending movie: "The Donut not Eaten". Who knows, this could be the start of the next phase of my life as a filmmaker! 😯

I'm old. I can finally afford it. Let this be the one part of my life I am not watching numbers!

you're SUCH a bad influence! I cancelled my 512 and went for the 1TB .... but you're right, if we're going to use the phone to its fullest, we're going to need as much space as possible.

Lol OMG! I can't wait to tell the kids I'm a social media influencer! 🤣

I hope you have a lot of fun with your Ultra and find the extra storage worthwhile.

Hey we all gotta start somewhere!

Like and hit the bell 🛎️ to subscribe! 😆

I'm feeling very influential at the moment. I just got my husband to order a 512 GB Lime Green S23 Ultra! ☺️😁😄

I am so excited! Usually, even as old I am, I still jump up and down and get hyperactive and run in circles when I'm excited. (Come to think of it, probably a side effect of being raised around lots of dogs). But with this darn cold I will just have to settle for grinning from ear to ear.

He even used his extra points to get me the clear case with the ring on the back. He only wanted a leather case and a wallet case. His usual favorite case is a Spigen. So that left him with extra points to get me the case I regretted skipping when I made my order. 😍

Fortunately, he likes color as much as I do these days and picked the lime green that I was growing increasingly obsessed with.

I showed him the post I made here with the picture of the green and pink mochis. So he knows he made my day!

I didn't even try to persuade him over to 1TB. He doesn't need it. 512 GB would definitely give room for him to use the higher camera and video settings.

Anyway, I am so excited now for Valentine's Day. I know we probably won't get our phones on Valentine's Day itself, but close enough. We can play with our phones together. I hope he and I can get away for a few hours to drive around the countryside and stop and snap some rustic photos. It's always more fun when we get our phones at the same time. We unbox them together. We watch videos about them together.

Judging from samples I've seen so far, I don't think the cameras on the Ultra are leaps and bounds above the competition. Even now the Pixel and iPhone do still outperform them in some shots. But they are definitely good enough and unlike Pixel and iPhone, the Ultra has zoom capability we definitely make use of living and vacationing where we do. That makes it overall just exactly what I can settle down with for a couple of years.

two phones? I see loads of you use two (or more) phones daily! how do you do that? I can see the advantages but do you use a different sim in both? do you use one for specific things and the other for other things? where do you carry them?

as a guy used to just putting his phone in the shirt pocket, I'm kinda running out of convenient places :-D but seriously, how do you make it work?

Some people use both at the same time and have two sims.

I generally have a primary phone and a back up phone. The primary usually costs more. If I ever have a problem with the primary phone I can use my back up and don't have to wait for a repair or replacement.

Sometimes my backup becomes my primary in cases where I couldn't afford to replace/repair my primary.

There have been times when I got a cheap sim plan for the backup and had two numbers.

Generally speaking though I have one sim and alternate between phone's.

When I had an iPhone I would alternate between it and my Galaxy s22 plus. It was fun to see how each worked and both had different pluses.

Everyone is different. I have seen people on these forums with 4 phones and some who carry both phones at the same time. I think that is too much for me but if it works for them why not?

To each their own.

US Market ONLY, AFAIK!

Google Fi is offering $420 for the Note 20 Ultra 5G (128/256 ) and $450 for the 512GB, plus $600 off of the MSRP and free storage upgrade.. So, essentially $599 ( not counting the Trade In ! ) + ~ $120 ( 4 months of service ) + Port in $ ( $3 if you have a google voice number.. it qualifies! ) + Taxes.. not a bad deal at all

If you have, say the N20 Ultra 5G, discount another $420-$450.. and the Google Fi offer is a great deal!

I'm seriously considering it..

Google Fi devices are factory unlocked, unless they changed it for the S23 series ( I doubt it )

$1200 ( 512 GB variant, MSRP )
- $600 ( Google Fi instant discount )
- $420 ( N20U 128GB Trade In in good condition aka No cracks or bad IMEI etc.. )
+ ~120 ( 4 months of service ..$20 voice + $10 data/GB )
+ ~30 Taxes for the Fi service for 4 months
+ $49.50 ( Tax for the device )

Activate the Google Fi sim on the S23U, leave it in for a few minutes..maybe make a few calls, take out the sim and stick in a drawer ( do NOT put the sim in another phone at all!! ), insert your regular sim and go about your business!

Cancel Google Fi service after 4 months, and done!

All said and done ~$380 for the upgrade after trade in, with no carrier bill credit BS.

Dang it I was going to do this but the ultra is sold out on Fi’s website I wonder if they’ll get more in stock before launch?

yeah I mean I've always had more than 1 phone at home... it's the people who seem to use 2 day to day or very frequently switch that I'm really interested in.

I don’t carry two phones… but I do carry two devices (Fold & cellular iPP).

My approach is unorthodox… instead of carrying a iPhone around, I rather use an iPad. So, it keeps me in the Apple ecosystem (iMessage & iCloud) and I can use it as a laptop as well. I have a leather backpack (daypack), so it’s not as if I’m carrying the iPad by hand.

When I made my order on pre-order day I was given the option to select delivery on Feb 13th. I assumed this was an error as it releases on the 17th but it still seems to be showing delivery on the 13th. Anyone else? I’m in the Uk if that matters. It would be nice to get it early but I’d probably prefer delivery on a Friday rather than a Monday otherwise it’ll distract me during the working week!

Well they don't seem to mind about the delivery dates as I'm writing this on my S23+. I put my order in on Thursday and the phone was delivered on Friday, so I've had a weekend's worth of use already. I'm in Finland and ordered through a carrier that offered a nice discount and 512GB for the price of 256.

I carry two phones most of the time. It's not cumbersome at all for me. I do frequent trading on my phones, check my surveillance cams, and remote connect to my server. So I have my 14PM on T-mobile and my S22U on Verizon. When I hit a dead/slow spot with one, the other almost always works. Sure, I can E-sim one line and regular sim on the other on the S22U, but where's the fun in that. :)

Exactly my approach too for on the go; I currently have a Z Fold4 & cellular iPad Pro with smart keyboard, each are excellent in their own way. I have been using Android & Apple together for a few years now and enjoy both ecosystems.

It's been over 10 years easily since I've been carrying two phones I don't think I could do without them.. One Android and one iPhone.. if I'm going out to dinner I'll swap out the pixel for the flip.. otherwise I alternate the Android phones weekly and the iPhone is the lone survivor going on two and a half years..

Part of the advice the poster gave about the phone is true and the other part isn't. If you get a second number then you can use another sim but you can't use that other non Fi sim in the s23 because it won't count as use on the network. Part of the contract is you have to use the Google Fi service for 120 days. That means in the phone you got from Google Fi and active o their network. It is unlocked but you might get charged if you don't meet the requirements. I checked the fine print.

I carry two phones Monday through Friday. My Fold 4 is my personal and my iPhone 13 Pro is my work. Each has its own sim. Since it's cold now, I carry one in my pants and the other inside my coat pocket. Once it gets hot I use a small satchel/fanny bag from Uniqlo to carry my Fold 4. If going out I use my 13 mini in order to travel light. If I don't cancel the S23U order it will be my phone of choice when I go out and do photography or plan on taking group photos. For now my Fold 4 is my main device. No plans on replacing it until the Fold 7.

You don't need it at all but if you want to use it every so often then you can. Sometimes iOS is fun to use and sometimes Android is. It is nice to have the option if one update sucks on one OS them you can use the other until things get sorted out.

It is purely a personal preference and choice.

On my iPhone I have my Bloomberg App..my work emails..all 2FA for work ...personal emails and it's my main number for friends and iMessage and WhatsApp.. my Androids mainly do the lifting for social media .and my sneaker hobby and AA for the car ...music at the gym ...
I have both sides synced to everything personal though and my good friends call me on either line...Google Voice number is linked to both lines for pesky or when I don't want to give out my numbers ...

My first impressions is the phone feels even lighter to me than previous though prob just me and the screen is getting almost to flat.. it did feel a little weird around the back edges if you're going to carry the phone naked felt like it grabbed a little bit.. The sides of the phone are more squared..

So, let me get this straight.

Fold 4 and 13P during Monday and Friday… combination of S23U & 13 Mini on the weekend?
