So, let me get this straight.

Fold 4 and 13P during Monday and Friday… combination of S23U & 13 Mini on the weekend?
S23U may be weekend phone. Mini if I really want to carry a small phone (no jacket weather). Mini is also my phone of choice when I go jogging, cycling or any physical activity

I’m curious… no interest in a cellular AW for physical activity purposes? Or perhaps you already have one…

On my iPhone I have my Bloomberg App..my work emails..all 2FA for work ...personal emails and it's my main number for friends and iMessage and WhatsApp..

is that because you feel the iphone is better for 2fa and emails?

I trust both of them but since I have so many job apps and I need 2fa for logins for the remote work environment. I just keep everything together. Makes it nice and easy.. I know nothing is 100% safe but I do keep my stuff on both sides on lockdown..haha

yeah I'm the same... 2fa for sooooo many remote work things that it would worry me if android didn't perform as well on that

two phones? I see loads of you use two (or more) phones daily! how do you do that? I can see the advantages but do you use a different sim in both? do you use one for specific things and the other for other things? where do you carry them?

as a guy used to just putting his phone in the shirt pocket, I'm kinda running out of convenient places :-D but seriously, how do you make it work?
We have each got two lines. So a separate sim for each. My husband is a big guy and can carry two phones easily in most of his pants pockets or jacket pockets. And we sometimes carry 3. We also have Pixel 6 Pros. No sim in either Pixel at the moment, we just use it on Wi-Fi.

Before the e Sim horror was inflicted upon us, I would regularly switch my main sim among three different iPhones: 12 mini, iPhone 11, and iPhone SE.

What i carry on me in a pocket of my jeans when I’m working around the house or yard is an iPhone and that’s due to iMessage and because my main sim is tied to an iPhone and I have to always be ready to answer the phone if my mom calls. My Android number is no longer one I give out for people to call me. The cellular connectivity on my Android is purely for my own use, not for others to reach me.

The 14 Pro Max IS big but I can carry it in my back jeans pocket well enough when I’m doing chores. I have a cellular Apple Watch, so theoretically I don’t need to have an iPhone on me, but I prefer to.

When I go out of the house, both phones go into a dedicated pocket on my little backpack or handbag. Thanks to cases and screen protectors they do not scratch each other plus I have a piece of paper that sits between them to keep the lenses from scratching.

In the summer time when I’m wearing dresses and carrying smaller purses I had been carrying either an iPhone 12 mini or my SE3. Now with e-sims, I don’t know if that’s going to be easy to do. I will find out, I guess. Supposedly on AT&T it’s not difficult to switch between different iPhones. But switching between an Android and an iPhone is a hot mess.

90% of my web surfing is done on my Samsung. I do some emails on my iPhone and all my texts to people who are not my husband. My husband and I send texts to each other on a “group chat” consisting of our iPhone and Android numbers but it’s just us. We can tolerate the green bubbles!

(Sorry if this post ends up falling out of place in the conversation. I started typing around 5 pm and after interruptions to help with homework and feed cats and dinner and so forth…lol here it is 9:13 pm)

I ordered at 1st and received on the 2nd of February directly from Samsung in Europe. The phone is great, especially without exinos chip. Good luck to receive as soon as possible. I do not think that 7th or 13th is a mistake.
Congrats on your new S23 Ultra!

Finally I actioned my pre-order this morning (Samsung UK) but it is actually more like a standard purchase than a pre-order; I was able to select DPD delivery from the 7th. Your right about those shipping dates which is great and a change to last year, I believe Samsung only shipped out on release day.

With the Samsung promotion, extra 10% off with a case, 10% referral & Samsung reward points I'm happy with the total price without any trade-in. Cashback is unlikely to track mind.

Decided on a 1TB Phantom Black as I've not had an all black phone since the iPhone 7 Plus in Jet Black! The hero Botanic Green colour does look much better in person than online. Interested in seeing all the exclusive colours too.

I now need to work out if I'm keeping my Z Fold4 with the Ultra or selling on. Likely better to sell to recoup the best price before the Z Fold5 is out.

Good luck to everyone else receiving their S23's soon. The more YT videos and comparisons I'm watching is convincing me that the Ultra will be the one competitors watch closely this year. Samsung have definitely worked hard on the software side during 2022.

Hello. Just received the S23 Ultra Black 512 + 12 GB. Dissapoinded about cameras coming from LG V60 ThinQ European modell...
Either LG is holding really good, or the hype and marketing over new Samsung, Apple models is misleading customers. V60 smokes it in selfie and main cameras, portraits, also is keeping up with 10x digital zoom vs 10x space zoom. Display nits 1750 on S23 ultra seems inferiour to V60 600-800 nits. Real upgrade for me was the 120Hz. Thats life.

Glass from the selfie, Uwide and Main seems to be bigger on LG V60. Hype and big camera rings, and nothing more on the 1500 euro S23 ultra phone...

Have there been any more battery test results? I’ve seen a couple but that’s about it. I’m unsure about believing random people on Twitter

What do people tend to use for screen protectors on the ultras? I've tended to use spigen ezfit on my iphone but I dont think that exact one is available for the s23ultra

For the UK, I think this year it seems to be dependent on which model and colour you choose. I went for 1TB in black which is likely less popular than the 512GB version in say hero green. If I chose 1TB exclusive blue today, delivery date would have been 24th!

from what I can tell, screen protectors for the ultra are film ones rather than tempered glass because of the curved edges. How do people find these? Are they easy to apply and do they feel like glass? I never used to use screen protectors but found tempered glass ones for the iPhone so good that I’ve used them on my last 2 phones. Not keen on the idea of a non-glass protector so might leave the ultra without one. Not sure yet.

I admired LG phones greatly when they were still being sold. I'd always wanted to get one, but service and support were always concerns in my country (USA) at the time and they were often only sold as carrier dependent models.

I don't remember unlocked phones being an option and if there were any, at the time my carrier wasn't supporting them with all the available services I needed. So unfortunately that renders so much about what made the LG phones so awesome moot. They just weren't a viable choice in the same way some of the interesting Chinese models aren't viable choices for me, today.

But LG phones have always had some superlative features. They were so far ahead of the pack with audio recording quality, for example. The level of control one could have over so many aspects of audio was amazing for a smartphone.

Looking at your samples here, I have to say my personal preference is for the Samsung. I see a more pleasant color balance and a bit more details, at least on my display. But it's not an overwhelming difference in quality. You have every right to be pleased with your LG's camera performance and overall quality. I wish LG had never exited the market, but as I recall they kept making key missteps in marketing to the USA. And we consumers are sadder for it.

At present time, it is my personal opinion that the Samsung s23 Ultra as a whole, offers "the complete package" to customers in the USA. Lol, but as beloved reviewer Flossy Carter would say "The price is too Goddamt high.". Flossy is not wrong, flagship phone prices are astronomical.

If you've got a phone the quality of the current flagships but didn't cost you such, you're a very lucky man and I envy you. Enjoy that phone! Maybe consider getting your money back on the Samsung and trying them or another phone when your LG is no longer viable.

And thanks for sharing the photos. It puts a lot into perspective, doesn't it? We need more competition, not less.

I use the film ones. I've got a fantastic one but sadly I don't know which brand it was and I ordered Supershieldz for now because I'd had good luck with them on past iphones. I think with the latest Victus, scratches are the main threat. Film will be sufficient to protect from scratches while the Victus itself will be resistant to shattering. Or so I hope!

In my opinion, a great tempered screen protector is the glass equivalent 'feel'of the main screen. I know a lot of people freestyle without glass protection but I have always used tempered ones on flat screens like the iPhone & currently my Z Fold4. With a film, to account for curves, if they are applied correctly with zero bubbles etc. they are not noticeable and do offer scratch if not drop protection.

Whilst never as completely smooth as either the main screen & tempered glass, nor offering the same level of drop protection, a good film is thin and clear enough not to make a difference to either usage or screen display.

The films are notoriously more difficult to install perfectly than tempered, either wet or dry install. I wish Samsung would just pre-install them to save us the hassle! They had to on the inner screen of the Fold 4 as the film is required for the plastic screen, but this is different to glass.

This year I've gone for Samsung's own film and leather case. Without the film I'd still be worried about glass screen scratches in my pocket despite the new Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the S23 Ultra screen. I need to check out some videos to see the Victus 1 & 2 differences. Other options could be no film and full front protection like a folio or other Samsung cases they are offering but I prefer to see the screen.

The film I've got on my S22 Ultra right now is smooth and feels like glass. I had bought two different brands to try at the same time. One was Omoton 3 Pack and the other was LK 2 Pack. One of them was sticky and unpleasant so I removed it. And one was what I've got now and would absolutely get again if I knew which it was.

Supershieldz was on massive discount when I got it so I figured I'd use that temporarily until reviews come in again. I don't even see Omoton being sold for S22 or S23 Ultra at the moment. LK is being sold and has 4.5 star reviews so far. 2 pack for $13.99 USD.

Caution: LK reviews apparently include reviews for film for other models and include ratings from 2019
