Several people in this thread have told you (@GrumpyMom?) to hang on and try to appreciate the S23 Ultra for what it does good and different in comparison to your 3-year-old LG V60. However, it seems that you're still so firm in the belief that the V60 is WAY better. While I / we appreciate that you're sharing your actual real-world experiences, it's becoming a broken record at this point. If you think the S23 Ultra is such a bad phone, from what I've gathered from your posts, why do you keep it? This is the beauty of technology, what one might like, the other might dislike. Thank you for sharing your opinions, but how about some positivity and what you DO like about the S23?

Man, I am getting jealous of all these people already getting their phones.... I have to wait until March is Google Fi is accurate which I really hope they are not and it comes way early.

I find it kind of funny watching a lot of YouTube videos and the reviewers being so unimpressed with the Ultra. It has the same design and looks like the same phone from last year, LOL. Yet iPhone 14 Pro Max reviews were like it has a new camera sensor and dynamic Island it is the best iPhone release ever. Lol

Samsung Ultra has the same style but the body has a different edge and flatter screen, it has a much better main camera sensor and selfie sensor, it has a new chip that is custom for Samsung and compared to last year a significant upgrade, it has faster ram and faster storage. So that means the phone should last longer on battery and perform much faster with the CPU, storage and ram upgrades, take better photos which to me sounds pretty significant.

I am glad Samsung didn't change the design. I would have preferred different colors and a completely flat screen but the design is good. They could have made the chin on the bottom thinner. But what else could they really do design wise that would be an improvement? Also the idea that Android OEM's have to completely redesign their phones every year is a bad thing in my opinion. It is one of the reasons resale value is bad. Make a really great design like Apple and stick with it for 3 years or so. Make improvements and refinements that make a difference. I would like the changes I just suggested and maybe an anti-reflective screen like Apple. Bigger battery. When you refine instead of completely redesign it allows for a better device vs. starting from scratch every year and never truly optimizing or refining the device.

Anyway I am looking forward to getting my Galaxy when it arrives and hopefully sooner than later.

It shows you the level of "techie" these youtubers actually are. They cannot even appreciate any tech if it doesn't look different physically. They are basically the same "judge book by its cover" as the rest of the masses. Heck, I even am disappointed in MKBHD, who simply glossed over the SD8gen2 (which is a huge improvement on its own) and simply claimed the S23 as more of the "same" as the S22 just because the designs don't change much.

"Tech" youtubers are basically marketing people. They know how to create fancy videos, but the actual tech knowledge is extremely minimal, and pretty much borderline lay-people-reading-brochure level of knowledge.

I completely agree. In one video MKBHD said the new S23 series has updates in areas where it matters like CPU, Camera, Battery life but then said it wasn't a big deal?? Like what do they expect a Nothing phone with LED's on the back. I bet is Samsung did something tacky like that they would be raving on what a great design yet it does nothing to improve the actual phone experience. couldn't help the pun.

I mean for me the new 8 gen 2 is almost enough in itself considering what it brings to the table, then add ufs 4.0, faster ddr 5, 4 years of OS upgrades, better screen tech, vapor chamber cooling, Victus 2 glass and a better camera sensor on the ultra and that seems pretty impressive.

I would have liked some different color options but I think the s23 line looks pretty sharp.

I have to call bs, it is pretty clear this is not normal so either you have a defect unit or you are in the street team for LG
Leave the guy alone. He started his post with Brah. I mean come on Brah, give the guy a break.

Let him post all he wants. Fact is no one is going out and buying a new LG smartphone, you know since they don't make them anymore.

Maybe he is upset that his new phone is not as ground breaking as he thought it would be. Which I amsure we can all relate. But the phone is not just a camera and I am sure there are a ton of other features that make the Ultra a lot better than the LG phone. From what I remember about LG they were terrible with updates. Never had an LG phone I liked. Well, except for the LG made Google Nexus 5.

Besides I am sure the camera's on the Ultra are pretty good or we would all being seeing videos like S23 Ultra Camera fail...etc. Lol

Totally agree... Those pics look very suspect to me, my friends... I'm sure LG has done plenty of good things on previous phones but never tested one that was hands down better than plenty of other phones I've used ... Sometimes you get used to something from using it so long that you just don't know how to make that change..

I get selfies like that from time to time on some of the best phones I've owned. Usually either I moved or the camera moved and the lighting was poor.

Or the other possibility, with me, anyway, during a long day fueled by insufficient caffeine, is sometimes there's not enough AI in the world to fix a bad face day. 🤣

Late at night here and I got the notice FedEx actually has possession of my phone! Looks to be delivering on the 13th. My husband hasn't had any progress on his lime green phone yet. But he did order a couple of days after I did and he got a special edition color.

The weird thing is on my Shop Samsung app my order status is still not changed and I still have the "Cancel Order" button.

There were a few times my finger hovered over that button as I wondered should I get the white or sky blue instead. But I held steady on my choice of lavender after all.

I forget exactly how many times I canceled and redid my order the year I couldn't make up my mind between the chocolate brown S21 Ultra and the pure black one, but it was an embarrassing number of times!

Ok, for anyone having this issue i found a fix for this problem:
Go into display settings and disable Enhanced comfort! - see attached video

Regarding the LG comparison i really don't care about your fan boy things. When you own a phone for almost 3 years and want to change with something better, you compare especially when your personal sim is in the s23 ultra and your business sim is now in v60. Yes you compare with what you have in hands. What is wrong with you people?
Anyways, i fixed my display and I'm getting happier. I'm convinced s23 ultra is in a beta stage and it will get fixed, but in very low light selfie camera suffers from small sensor.
And explain yourself 600 nits vs 1750 nits in direct sunlight and also in HDR10+ video playback (grass photos) in the examples below.
