Really hoping Fed Ex doesn’t require a signature tomorrow. I have to run an errand around noon, smack dab in the middle of my delivery window. Nothing on the tracking says signature required.

I wonder if I can put a note at the front door with the tracking number and my signature.
Something as expensive as a phone will need a signature/photo at your door of the handover.

Do you think that’s good? It depends on what you do with the phone I guess. Compared to the S22 Ultra, what battery percentage would you be on with the same time?
Maybe just over an hour.

More testing is needed for sure but battery life I can tell will not be an issue

Been testing the camera assistant app with quick tap shutter on compared to off and I'm not noticing any difference in image quality I imagine it may be more obvious in darker situations but for shots of your kids or pets this option removes any blurry photos completely

So yeah happy to admit was wrong on this one

This is brand new update BTW in camera assistant app

I've gone all in and bought watch 5 pro and buds 2 pro. Happy with this set up
To those S23 users who have the Watch and Buds setup.. how do you like the new battery widget for OneUI 5.1?

I'm excited to add that to my home screen when the new OneUI 5.1 update comes out...

Looks like mine is due in tomorrow. I'm so excited. I am almost over my virus. Today is the first time in a week I can run straight through all my housework and not have to sit down and rest after each chore. I was starting to feel recovered yesterday except for the fatigue, so I masked up and visited my mother for a bit. She had wondered what had happened to me!

She's amused I'm getting a phone and that I don't know if it's pink or lavender or...what. So now she's curious and wants to see it soon, too!

I did get my Pixel 6 Pro charged and updated. Since I'd been dizzy and nauseated anyway, so I figured may as well work on it since I can't tell what's my virus and what's pwm sensitivity. 🤣

I just wanted it up and running so I can do camera comparisons for myself. I also wanted to reacquaint myself with the features and how I had it set up so I can set my S3 Ultra up better than I have done on my S22 Ultra. I'm not sure I'm making a direct copy over via Smart Switch.

Sigh. The one thing I'm not looking forward to is applying the screen protectors. Film ones. Eww.

Battery widget is cool although I won't have a watch with it

Will be getting buds Pro though

I plan to use 0% opacity on the widget and stack it as well with my device care widget.

Getting the Buds Pro, eh? So... I'm guessing you moving toward replacing the Pixel with the S23U?

Subjective. I can get that with the Fold 4 but overall the battery life is poor.
I have no idea what you guys are doing to get poor battery life on your Folds

Sure if I download 4 hours of TV and Wifi Cast/Stream to my TV I can make a dent or use it as a mobile hotspot for 6 hours when I get a power cut, but these are not normal dailies.

On the odd occasion when I have over 10 hrs SOT because I have been binge reading on Kindle can also make a dent, but otherwise its fine

I can only assume your doing an awful lot of 5G streaming or gaming on the big screen to get such poor results over most other users IMO and is not representative for most but is specific to you :)

I’m leaning going that way to be honest. Still need going to keep testing and comparing them though. Won’t make a decision for a little while. I wasn’t expecting to like the ultra as much as i’am. Not having exynos is playing a big factor here

Yeah despite people saying otherwise at launch I've always found the Fold 4 to have poor battery life even when using the small display all day. It's noticeably worse than any smartphone I've owned in recent memory.

How much better is the battery life on the S23 Ultra? Twice as good? Slightly better?
Based on my limited experience so far of using the Ultra, I would say the new Snapdragon Gen 2 chip is significantly helping towards the battery efficiency; this is resulting in serious battery life gains. The 5000 mAh battery I've found it to be really stella and this is using it high intensity, 1440p screen with 120mhz straight from turning it on. I get over a full day's use on all apps. Really impressed.

If your using the screen at 120Hz refresh rate at 1080p, easily expect a solid 2 day use out of it no matter how intense your usage is - it's that good.

I am actually surprised by how improved the Ultra battery performance has been so far. Battery life usually disappoints me! Reviewers and even Samsung in advertising need to give this more attention.

Compared to the Fold4, I have to say the Ultra is probably twice as good; at least the battery efficiency is twice as good.

As others have mentioned battery life is a non-issue - it's something not to worry or think about with the Ultra.

yep that's my finding too. In fact when someone mentioned the battery widget, I did add it but I've removed it from the home screen now because when all it shows all day are high numbers, that's space I could take with something else :)

It does, I've never had a red phone before. I hope it's a good enough upgrade from my S22 Ultra Exynos, especially when it comes to the battery life. I'm not expecting miracles, but it would be nice to get at least a full day out of it and not have to worry about that. Also the camera looks to be a nice little upgrade, I like taking night shots of the moon on my S22 Ultra, so hopefully it's as good if not better on the S23.
Well according to a new test the battery life on all the new S23 series seems impressive to say the least.

The new ultra bests the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max and is just a hair less than the 14 Pro Max.

Even the regular s23 is much, much better.

Kudos for this very welcome change!

But the battery widget isn’t necessarily for the phone alone, but for other devices (galaxy buds & watch). However, I’ll share the same thoughts as you if I didn’t have other devices with the phone.

Isn't it the capture speed option that fixes blurry shots of moving objects? Quick tap shutter just helps start the exposure quickly.

I am excited for you to get your new phone soon!!

Unfortunately mine arrives in March ......

Already sold my s22 plus so using just one phone feels weird. Lol. When I am home I use both phones. I will be reading Kindle or streaming on one and browsing the net with the other.

Curved displays and bloatware are the bain of my existence.

I was going to get the regular s23 and decided at the last minute I need to try an ultra. So I cancelled my Fi order and once they had more stock bought a green s22 ultra. Since I use my phone so much I figured it was worth it and I was able to sell my s22 plus for $50 less than I paid for the Ultra. Figured I could afford $50. I will have to pay another hundred dollars to Fi over 4 months so $25 a month for 4 months. Making the total cost of the phone $150 assuming I switch back to boost mobile. I might in the end just keep Fi. We will see how it goes. Then it would just be $50 since I may keep the cell service.

If Samsung would have offered a similar offer I would have bought either the Lime or Graphite color. Although I still do like the Lavender. Just wish it was more on the purple side.

I don't know what I am going to do about the screen though. I might try one of the cheaper Loca no name brands on Amazon. The Whitestone dome is a PITA to apply and takes me more than one try but the end result is really nice.

So far I am super excited for the phone. Just have to wait longer than everyone else. Once I get it I will do a comparison to my Pixel 7 Pro.

Nah the quick tap shutter is a brand new update to the app so it releases it as you touch the shutter and not when you release your finger. You can have this on while still having prioritie quality on
