Everyone send good juju my way that FedEx doesn't try to deliver while I'm gone getting the dogs' nails cut.
I used to cut my dog’s nails my self. She would scream like she was being murdered. The vet couldn’t ever do even the simplest thing with that dog without eliciting ear shattering screeching.

Check the ears…scream. Feel along the ribs…scream. Pay the bill…scream. Oh wait, that last one was me! 🤣

I wish you all the best on your errand!

I’ve had a rough morning so far. I had to administer insulin to a feral cat. The cat is very shockingly nice about it all, but I did have to catch her. Then when I went to fetch the cat a treat I ended up covered in cocoa powder. My husband had to vacuum me. I’d mistaken the package of cocoa for the tuna treats. I’m not exactly sure how but it all ended up all over me and the floor. I just am still addled from the stupid virus, I guess. The worst part was the cat watched the whole thing and appeared to be judging me. Harshly.

And now my phone is just sitting at the local FedEx distribution center. It doesn’t say Out For Delivery but the estimated delivery time was from 9am to 1 pm. I had gotten into an argument with my kid, who thinks I exist to facilitate her social life, about transportation arrangements so I could stay home and sign for it and now it’s not even on the vehicle for delivery. I’m not sure what’s going on.

But so far it hasn’t been my day. I’m tired and want to go back to bed but I’ve got a mountain of chores to get done. And I smell like cocoa. I unfortunately had taken my shower before the cocoa mishap. I’d take another one if I weren’t waiting for the phone.

Haha yeah, one of my dogs is high anxiety and a bit ridiculous when it comes to this stuff, so I just shell out the money to have someone trained do it.

It’s worth every penny! I’d have done that myself, except my dog had a nervous stomach and often uh…dramatically befouled our truck. She was okay for short rides to the dog park. Iffy on trips to the vet. Local groomers are all too far away. That dog was a massive pain in the butt. But I adored her and I miss her so much. So does the formally feral cat whom I’m administering insulin to, who was her best friend.

Hm, played with ultra in store, it is too big for me.. but really quite impressed, as snappy as iphone (would say even snappier - probably faster animations in one ui than in ios), tried 30x zoom, wow… but as i said, probably too big for my life and not sure if worth moving from apple (even as for now it is rather love/hate relationship than pure love one😂)

Yeah there were times in my life I just didn't want to deal with a huge slab of a phone. Not at all. I still don't always want to deal with one in the summer which is why I have the 12 mini and the iphone SE3.

I hope I'll be able to use the display on the S23 Ultra. That's the wildcard for me. I never know when I make an upgrade if I'll be able to use or stay consistently comfortable with the display (regarding migraine).

If all goes well with the S23 Ultra I do want to settle down with it, my 14 Pro Max and my other smaller and slightly older iphones for a couple of years more. Give my nervous system a chance to settle down and adjust to what I own.

And of course I'll have a nice array of sizes and feature sets with that group. Even my S22 Ultra is fine if I have to return the S23 Ultra and stay awhile on it.

Now I just need to figure out what on earth is up with FedEx. It's well past the delivery window they stated on the app. The phone is still not on any truck out for delivery despite the phone being here locally since yesterday.

My one correspondence from Samsung just said they anticipated my delivery date to be tomorrow, the 14th. So maybe that's what it is. I'll be able to be home to sign for it then, too. After that, my schedule is iffy. Today wasn't really a good day but I moved some things and my husband did so he could help me be here despite esteemed descendant throwing a last minute curve ball.

I ordered the regular S23 6.1" to replace my iPhone 13 mini and it arrives Friday. I have short, stubby fingers and my right thumb gets seriously sore using 2-handed phablets, so I really need a one-handed device. Had a Zenfone 9 for a couple weeks, but eventually returned it. The size and weight were roughly the same as the S23 and it was almost perfect, but the 2-year update policy of Asus sucks and the fingerprint sensor was awkward to reach when holding in my left hand, so the S23 ultrasonic fingerprint sensor should be a good improvement. I'm really excited.

My only concern with small phones is battery life. I keep a magsafe dock on my work desk to top up my mini as needed, but would really like my S23 to last all day. Not a lot of reviews of battery life for the little one yet, but PhoneArena and GSMArena have some early testing that seems promising. I only need about 4-5 hr SoT, so I think if I run the S23 @ 60hz I should be fine, but I will probably also turn off 5G and set the performance mode to Light just to see how much I can get out of it. I mostly use my phone for listening to podcasts via bluetooth and browsing the web and reading RSS and Reddit, so not a lot of video and zero games. I will report back after a few days to let you all know how well it fairs.

I'm kind of disappointment in this case from Spigen, it's almost as slippy as the phone is without a case.
Which one did you get? I got the liquid air and it's not very grippy either but what bothers me more is the bottom edge of the case seems to not fit tightly around the phone and it's showing a bit of the metal bezel next to the screen.

Fedex truck showed up at my office at the exact same time I did this morning (9:00 am).

Been playing with and setting the device up all day. Already convinced this one is going to be a winner. The display is just "wow" after coming from the Pixel 7 Pro which is no slouch. I prefer the UI on the Pixel but I don't dislike anything about One UI. Lets see how I get by day to day without the little conveniences that are baked into the Pixel.

This is definitely the most premium feeling and looking device on the market in my opinion.

I got the zero one. This is real tight fit, almost thought I ordered the one wrong.

I have always had large phones even when my child was very young and two cats. Lol

I am a tall guy but not the largest hands. I don't know I never found large phones hard to use.

I can see the appeal of a phone that fits comfortably in the hand. I remember when I was still using a flip phone and my ex had her first iPhone with a 4" screen.

I thought to myself the screen is so small what can you even do with it. But we had better eyes back then and she would just maximize the image.

It is funny because what was considered a large screen was 5-5.5" and with the bezels they were as big or bigger than the s23 with a 6.1" screen.

From what I have seen so far it looks like 7-8 hours SOT with the base model s23.

The extra battery and extra efficiency of the 8 gen 2 should make the s23 pretty good in terms of SOT. You shouldn't have to worry.

Just give it a couple of weeks to learn your usage. If adaptive Battery is enabled your battery life should improve over time. It will probably be as bad as it would ever be the first few days. So if you get enough SOT the first couple of days then you should have no problem.

Look, one hand operability is great when you are catching two children, calling wife and trying to carry some bag…;)

Jealous of all of you receiving your phones today! Mine shipped on Friday, but it’s still sitting in Fort Worth as of now. FedEx also plastered a huge message saying “per shipper instructions, package will not be delivered until 2/15”. It’s only two days. Two long days though!

You think the 15th is a long ways a way. I have to wait until after the first week of March. It is like torture listening to everyone get their s23 while mine is weeks away. 😂 Lol.

Oh well, better late than never. I used to have a s22 plus and I recently sold it to pay for the Google Fi promotion for s23 ultra. I don't know what to do with myself with only one phone....Lol

I keep hoping Google will ship early.

I got an update to my status almost a few minutes before my phone was left on my front porch. They do like Amazon Prime now does and take a picture of where they left it. Which is good because I’ve had packages that had been hidden all over my property like eggs for an Easter Egg hunt before. I have a little over an acre and the delivery people have been creative.

I can’t open my package yet because I have to scrub two litter boxes out first so I can put them away and lock my late father’s cats up. They’re super curious. I’d get no peace.

Oh I've had packages with delivery photos from all over the place including 25miles away, in a neighbour's (full) bin, in a fountain in the garden etc.....

Funny thing is, I have a fully working parcel box but seemingly pressing the button and opening the lid is beyond the mental capacity of many delivery drivers.

ARGH well I hope you find it worth waiting for and love the colour :)

Got the S23U delivered from FedEx and no signature was required. he left it and drove away.
This has got to be the easiest fastest setup and data transfer ever on an android phone.
Data transfer and settings from my s22U was very very easy and complete.
Love the feel in the hand and this things is noticeably snappier than the s22U. Going to test the camera in a little and post some outdoor and pet shots when I can. The curved display is noticeably less pronounced which make for a better feel in the hand IMHO....
