Got mine too and there's still a lot of testing to do, and work is really busy today. But I took a couple shots of one of my dogs when she was walking around and the shutter lag was improved. Still had a couple blurry shots but in fairness, they would have been blurry on my 14 Pro Max too. I am going to try to live with a shutter as I press the button and prioritize quality and see if that's the best middle ground.

Otherwise, phone seems awesome! Not a very big change from when I had the S21 Ultra but I'm sure those differences will present themselves as time goes on.

First week of March?! 😬 Oh no!

Yeah, the wait is due to buying through Google Fi and waiting too long to do so I guess.

But the phone cost me a little over $100 with tax. Not bad to get an Ultra. If I would have gotten the s23 regular it would have been free. But I use my phone so much and plan on keeping this one for at least two years I figured I might as well get all I want so I don't have any regrets.

This will be the nicest phone I have ever had with the most storage too since Google also gave the same storage upgrade as Samsung so it is the 512gb storage and 12gb ram model.

I figured to get a deal like this it is worth the wait.

I wanted to get a exclusive color direct from Samsung but that would have cost me just shy of $1000 with my trade in. No way I could afford that. Even the s23 regular edition would have cost close to $500 with my trade going through Samsung. The trade in value on my s22 plus was pretty bad.

The great thing with Google Fi is the deal was without a trade and no long term contract. 4 months and I can do whatever I want and it is unlocked.

Hopefully I will get it at the end of February or maybe even the third week if I am lucky but most likely after the first week of March. Now I have to be patient which is not in my nature. 😆 Lol

Had my phone for close to a week now, by far the biggest selling point is the battery life. I can actually get away with only charging when i drive to work and back each day, i don't need to charge overnight at all. The Computational photography is also such a huge upgrade over the N10+, you can see it in action when you use the 100x zoom, its pretty awesome. I really don't have any complaints about this phone and plan on keeping it for the full 5 years of updates.

Testing the zoom and it does not disappoint. I can't see any camera comparisons without including such a great feature.

I’d thought I had gotten everything done and out of the way but nope. I am just now getting to sit down a bit and set the phone up. I lost daylight so I won’t really get to see the phone in it’s true glory until maybe tomorrow. I am going to be super busy tomorrow so I’m not sure.

It looks almost pure white under my dining room light where I’m currently seated. It looks more lavender in the kitchen where the photo was taken. I’ve already put it in the lavender silicone case.

The display is way more blue than my S22 Ultra’s more pure white display. But I do have a screen protector on the S22 Ultra and none on the S23 Ultra yet. And I can’t remember if I customized the warmth of my older display. I think I might have.

I ripped a fingernail just taking the case off my old phone (to remove the SIM card) so I’m still having one of those days. (And apparently so is the rest of my family). So I’m not sure I want to try and apply the film screen protector tonight.

I like what I saw of the color. It is so subtle in indoor lighting it’s going to look white a lot of the time. It’s going to be very pretty! When I get around to putting on the display protector I’ll put one of my clear cases on it.

Edited to add that the camera rings are gorgeous! Wow! I wasn’t expecting THAT!

I don't think you have enough cases 😀

I was really close to getting the Lavender despite it obvious being a more feminine color. I really like the aluminum frame color.

When you get the time and energy I would love to see more pictures of how it looks in real life.

I hope you feel better soon and things start to go in a more positive direction for you and the family!

I had COVID right during Thanksgiving and since then still have a lot of fatigue just doing simple things. These virili really suck. Take care of yourself best you can.

There is one empty spot on that desk though. Lol
I didn't photograph my two clear cases!;)

I just tested the speakers. Wow they really put some effort in and now the sound quality for music on default settings matches and in places exceeds that of my 14 Pro Max on one song I tested, The Bell Medley by Jackson Caesar (it's from a Christmas album with a hint of gospel sound)

I'll try other genres next chance I get. But preliminary testing was at least very promising.

Unfortunately though I have more observations I also have two tubs of laundry to get done so kids can have their uniforms by tomorrow morning.

I'll catch back up with everyone soon.

Thank you. Oh this virus is awful. It's knocking even teenagers flat on their butts and it's not even Covid.

I hope you get back to full health soon, too.
Yep I'll get some photos of my phone tomorrow. I'm curious as to what it looks like in daylight.

You think the 15th is a long ways a way. I have to wait until after the first week of March. It is like torture listening to everyone get their s23 while mine is weeks away. Lol.

Oh well, better late than never. I used to have a s22 plus and I recently sold it to pay for the Google Fi promotion for s23 ultra. I don't know what to do with myself with only one phone....Lol

I keep hoping Google will ship early.

So far I’ve ordered three phones with this Google Fi promotion. LOL.

First was a green S23 with a timeframe of 2/22-23 but then it changed to the first week of March then the ultra came back in stock but only in phantom black which I ordered yesterday cancelling the S23. Then as I was working today I saw that the green came back in stock so I ordered that and canceled the black

So now I have a green S23ultra coming between 2/24 and 3/14. Such a big window LMAO but I hope it comes before the end of the month.

Wow, at least you have a February window. My delivery is between like March 7th-14th.

I am hoping the same thing! 🤞

Hi everyone! I haven't posted anything on the forums in a very long time, but I've been watching the S23 Ultra reviews and eyeing making a post in this thread once I saw @GrumpyMom in here, just like in the early days of the Pixel. How times have changed, but our interests and social nature have not!

Speaking of the Pixel, the last time I was really active on these threads was when the Pixel 3a was released. It's interesting to me, how I've traditionally stuck only to switching between iPhone and Pixel. I guess you could say that today, we are going to reinvent the phone. Or at least the one I'm using, lol.

In all seriousness though, the S23 Ultra will be my first non-Pixe/non-iPhone phone in almost 10 years. Yes, back in 2014, I tried the Galaxy S5, and I hated it. Bring back Google Play Edition smartphones, they said. And then last year, I had a three-month stint with the S22 Ultra, though the hardware wasn't quite what I expected and the battery life left a bit to be desired.

But I'm here now. And thanks to Samsung's trade-in values, I was able to completely switch ecosystems (from iPhone 14 Pro to Galaxy S23 Ultra, from Apple Watch Series 8 to Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, and from AirPods Pro to Galaxy Buds2 Pro) for under $900 total. I just hope it's not a mistake, but I don't think it is based on the reviews I've seen.

Anywho, my phone, watch, and headphones will all be here on the 15th, in about 36 hours, hopefully. I ordered the lavender color of the phone and headphones, and I ordered an iridescent case for the phone and an apple-style Alpine Loop band for my watch from Amazon. I can't wait, and I'm happy to be part of these forums again.

Good decision to switch in my humble opinion. Look forward to your comments over the next few days once you settle in with the Samsung lifestyle.

It was a tough call because just a month ago I was all-in on Pixel’s ecosystem, though the terrible battery life on the Pixel Watch as well as the lack of a dedicated tablet, made me think twice. I do like ChromeOS devices a lot, in particular, my old 2017 Pixelbook, but I also struggle in general with staying committed to any ecosystem for a long period of time. So, we’ll see how this goes.
