Really still impressed overall With s23 ultra. It’s really what a device should be for 1249. It really does have it all

It has officially replaced the pixel 7 pro for my work sim. Not sure it will leave it either.
Really tough for me. I love the device. It's stupid fast, the display is best in class, havent got to test the cameras too much but i'm sure they are as good as any, battery seems to be a beast. But man, I sure love my Pixel 7 Pro.

Yeah my pixel 7 pro has been great but I will be honest it feels quite boring in comparison. One area where I still love the pixel is for photos of my family. Gets most shots instantly and face unblur is very good

yeah, some shots with the pixel 7 pro where the AI has obviously been tuned, just look amazing. The overall look rivals much more expensive cameras.

Just speaking on the surface at the moment because I'm still diving into a lot of other apps, but I will say that the wide gap of quality in apps between iPhone and Android has definitely closed. I'm not seeing any noticeable difference at all.

I guess it's all down to which apps we use! but it's good news if it's getting better

Keith: If you have a lot of crashy apps, I am wondering if the switch app copied over preferences/settings for those apps too and something there is broken/incompatible (?). Not sure how that works as I always try to start fresh. Maybe just try deleting and redownloading the apps.

If the problem persists, try turning off RAM Plus (Settings > Battery and device care > Memory), reboot and see if that does anything. I have heard that fixes a lot of performance issues. Don't get mine until Friday, so can't confirm any of this. Just playing troubleshooter.

Yep for sure that's where it shines. The fact I can use magic eraser or face unblur on it even on pics taken on other devices is just icing on the cake. Other things like being able to just type in a business name in the dialer. I really hate Samsung's phone app bc it doesn't have this. I agree the pixel version of Android is short of a lot of the bells and whistles OneUI has. But the little extra things it has and does well you just don't realize are there until you use a phone that doesn't have them. On top of that I prefer the overall look from the app drawer to the notification pull down and especially the widgets for Spotify and YouTube, etc that are in the notification shade.

That said, the battery life on this S23U and the much superior camera hardware. There's no denying when it comes to hardware it's easily the superior device. I'm keeping it I'm certain but my phone collection is getting waaaay out of hand 😂

Tested battery life fully?

No doubt

I have

14 pro max
S23 ultra
Pixel 7 pro
Z fold 4 (although I view this as my portable tablet not a phone)

I want to maybe try Xiaomi 13 ultra too when it’s out so one needs to go

We have the exact same lineup and I still have a 13 Pro Max thrown in the mix as well 😂
I'm going to try not to upgrade my iphone this year and I'll either get the Z Fold5 or Pixel Fold and be done.

My husband’s S23 Ultra just showed up! I was leaving to pick up a kid and visit my mom and there it was by the door. He thought it was arriving tomorrow.

Unfortunately I’m going to be tied up visiting my mom and running errands and doing chores so I won’t get to see the lime green phone in the daytime. I actually haven’t really seen my phone in the daylight properly either. I have a pretty bad headache anyway because my neighbor was burning leaves and filled the whole street with smoke. I have asthma. Normally it doesn’t trouble me much…unless I get Covid or a face full of acrid smoke when I step outside into “fresh air.”

I’m so glad you got your phone today! The wait until tomorrow is agonizing for me! I’d be curious what your initial impressions of the device are or will be?

I feel ya with the asthma. It really bothered me in my childhood and hadn't bothered me at all since my college days at Texas A&M (lots of trees around and outside of Bryan/College Station). However, after I had covid in 2020 it started to flare up again. Could be coincidental, I have severe sinus issues and nasal polyps as a result of the recurring sinus infections but I wonder if something triggered it after covid. As for covid, I know it's a scary and serious deal for some, but I had it again a couple weeks ago. I've had worse hangovers than my two bouts with covid. Much rather deal with it than sinus infections or asthma attacks. Hope you get to feeling better and are able to get out and enjoy your S23U.

My phone is set to be delivered tomorrow and it’s still sitting with FedEx in Fort Worth! I’m getting a little concerned here! 😬
I wouldn't get too worried just yet. It will probably get loaded on a plane this afternoon at DFW Airport and arrive this evening or overnight to your local hub and out for delivery in the morning. Seen that many times with my Fedex shipments.

Great point. It’s so easy to start worrying, as I’m super excited and it’s not helping that other people are receiving their phones! My Best Buy finally put a display model out, and I tinkered with it yesterday… Ahh! FedEx can be super quick. I’m sure they know what they’re doing!

Hi guys. My lockscreen brightness is not synced with the desktop brightness, it's annoying in low light, lockscreen one is much higher. Anyone knows a fix?
I tested at night the zoom camera to see if the moon thing is a fake and i can say it is not. Pointed it at about 500 meters on a store with lights on, and the quality is just ridiculous. It corrected exposure iso and shutter speed exactly like in the moon pics and i was able to see inside the store with ridiculous quality.
I RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE HIDE NATIVELY FROM THE ONEUI NAVIGATION BAR SETTING THE UGLY WHITE NAV BAR!!!
GAME CHANGER!
