So I work in the printing industry and have access to wide format printers, so I thought I would test out the 200mp camera by taking a photo of my car then printing it out, I placed my note10+ on the print for size reference, very impressive!! Its over 1 Meter wide.

Ayyy Mazda 3 4th gen hatchgang!!!!

After about a day of use, I'm really liking this phone a lot. Samsung freaking nailed it in pretty much all aspects. My only annoyances are that I'm just so used to certain things in iOS. That's transitional stuff.

I'm going to Cancun starting tomorrow and returning Monday. Leaving the S23 Ultra home and taking my iPhone just because I have everything set up for my travel already and don't want to forget something and then be scrambling on an OS that I haven't used much in years. I think that'll be the big determining factor on how I move forward. If I can't wait to use it again while I'm in Mexico, then I think it's a keeper. If I generally enjoy my experience again on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, then I'll probably stay put. Really tough to think about sending the S23 Ultra back though!

Take both with you! It'd be fun to do comparison pics. I'll be taking the S23U along with Pixel 7 Pro and 14 Pro Max to Maui in a few weeks and taking pics with all three.

I feel ya with the asthma. It really bothered me in my childhood and hadn't bothered me at all since my college days at Texas A&M (lots of trees around and outside of Bryan/College Station). However, after I had covid in 2020 it started to flare up again. Could be coincidental, I have severe sinus issues and nasal polyps as a result of the recurring sinus infections but I wonder if something triggered it after covid. As for covid, I know it's a scary and serious deal for some, but I had it again a couple weeks ago. I've had worse hangovers than my two bouts with covid. Much rather deal with it than sinus infections or asthma attacks. Hope you get to feeling better and are able to get out and enjoy your S23U.
The neighbor is still burning leaves. The wind carries it away from his house and straight to ours. So I couldn't go out to test my phone camera when I got home.

I did at least see the color. It was surprisingly white! 😆

It's a chameleon. It encompasses a range of nail polish colors I wore a few years ago.

I think I like Lime Green a lot. It is hard to tell for sure but i think the camera rings are gold. If my husband had gotten 1 TB I totally would be tempted to steal his. But I am always like that with bright, bold colors and then a few months later I want something more subtle. I'm just glad both are available for me to drool over.

He has mixed feelings on the lime green. I think he was hoping for more green and less yellow. But he didn't get to really look at it much before having to go back to work.

Edit: I realized the IMEI number was imprinted on the back.
Oh and my husband dropped his phone! It seems okay. He has dropped all of his phones now. He says it was still in the box and the box came apart and half the box with the phone in it hit the floor.

I don’t have a 4th gen, but I have a 2017 (3rd gen) hatchback, a 2012 Mazdaspeed 3, and a 2004 Miata. I might like Mazda. Just a little bit, lol. Hey, related question: how is the new Android Auto (cool walk) performing on the Mazda infotainment? Any issues with the fact the touchscreen isn’t enabled and it’s wheel only for Android Auto?

(Hence my username, haha)

It works well on the Mazda, however there is not a huge change from how it worked previously, the only real differences are the Spotify and You Tube Music cards are updated and look way nicer, you can also jog music forward and back which is very handy. Also when someone sends a message the Music card splits horizontally to allow for the message card to appear. Personally i love that the Mazda is not touchscreen, once you get used to the wheel it is actually way easier to use especially over rough road as your hand isn't bouncing around , its also much safer.

Since it's my day off today. I've been testing this phone's battery and it's 6pm at 70 percent. I've been watching YouTube and twitch, along with checking social media and web browsing, some as texting and phone's calls. This is a beast when it comes to battery life.
It's such a battery beast that i actually enabled the protect battery feature today which limits the charge to 85 percent, will see how it goes.

As I use my iPhone tonight, I find myself asking questions like “who in the hell developed App Library and were they drunk”? Seriously, gotta love how things just move around. Suddenly my Sports folder gets mixed in with Entertainment. Oh and how about the fact that Reddit is not listed as a Social app, but reading and information. Or how about the fact that I moved from iOS email to the gmail app 3 weeks ago but it still suggests the iOS mail in the top 3 apps in the folder?

yeah it's weird... I've been on my iphone today because I had serious work to do and I haven't completely got everything working like it needs to on the s23u. All day I've been thinking arghhghg where's the back button, why can't I leave a space between icons on the home screen :/ where the heck has that app icon gone.

I can honestly say this is the first time I've ever been this positive about android.

Keith: If you have a lot of crashy apps, I am wondering if the switch app copied over preferences/settings for those apps too and something there is broken/incompatible (?). Not sure how that works as I always try to start fresh. Maybe just try deleting and redownloading the apps.

there could WELL be something in that because the apps I installed from scratch do seem ok it's the moved across ones I started using like parcelbox, ezview and so on which seem to crash.

Fair enough! thanks for the suggestion, seems like I have some more testing to do.

I never use app library. Utterly useless. I just swipe down on the home screen and use spotlight search. Usually it has my most used apps on display and I can type whatever app in that I want to pull up. One of the few things I really love about ios. Pixels app drawer is similar and has my most used apps when I open it and I can always type in whatever app I want as well. Samsung...well not so much. You can search but it's just not as intuitive. Or scroll thru the app drawer. But it doesn't put my most used apps at the top when I open the app drawer. Love that on the pixel.

That green actually looks really good and the lavender isn't bad either. I always go black on my phones if it's an option or space gray/graphite/space black or whatever apple offers at the time. I almost went graphite on the S23U but hard for me to resist a matte black phone 🤷‍♂️

LOL Yes I cloned my Fold 4 as much as I could to my IP14P that's just a spare phone for my UK sims and sits on WiFi only most of the time unused waiting for occasional OTP code (When I switch sims on no data)

Not had an Iphone for over 10 years since I last lived in the states and it was a complete throwback of old trying to organised apps etc and I have never noticed any extra polish to apps that I use, they all look the same on both OS's

My biggest gripe is my spam/junk mail has tripled since using the IP 14 and stuff I forgot about like Walmart, SAM's club, opticians and letting agents etc from the US all started to reappear and I have hardly any hours of use other than setting up. So something leaks badly and trips spam lists of old all from the US, so annoying

That is really interesting about the increased spam!

If I wasn't wanting the top of the line camera, bigger screen, s pen, or bigger battery of the Ultra, I'd go for the S23 Plus. S23 is still semi flagship specs but smaller battery, smaller screen, and max charging speed of 25W would push me to spend the extra $200 on the plus. S23 is still a great phone but I'm not sure I'd put it on par with the S22 Ultra or any of the Pro models of the iphone or Pixel. Can't say for the non pro versions as I have very little experience with them.
