I never had issues with the 22 ultra I had, it felt super smooth and fast to me. My only issue was the curved screen and battery life

After using my S23 Ultra for 2 days and then deciding to travel with just my IPhone 14 Pro Max for a day, I’ve decided that it’s time to move on from Apple. Can’t wait to put my main e-sim in the Ultra. Going to sell my Apple Watch Ultra and stop using watches. They’re just annoying and gave me more connected than I’d like. My MacBook Air just connects dust. That’s going too. My work Lenovo laptop will be just fine.

Wow! I didn't see that one coming. At least not that fast. I can't part with my AW Ultra so the 14 PM will stay, without sim, and perhaps be my last iphone. I do love my MacBook Air M2 but here lately it just collects dust. I basically use it as an overpriced AirMessage server to get iMessage on my Android devices. I'm usually carrying my Tab S8 ultra with me alongside either my Pixel 7 Pro or now my S23. The Apple Watch is just too integral a part of my morning jogs and fitness tracking. Glad you are like the S23 Ultra. It's a fantastic device.

How is android auto with the Mazda 3 infotainment system?
Right off the bat, Android Auto connects so much faster and more reliably than CarPlay. With my 14 Pro on the last few stable firmware versions, it was to thr point where I had to unplug and re-plug the cable in several times before it would realize what was happening.

I am still trying to get the hang of using the infotainment wheel, only, but it's not a big issue. Cool walk is so much better than the old Android Auto.

After about a day of use, I'm really liking this phone a lot. Samsung freaking nailed it in pretty much all aspects. My only annoyances are that I'm just so used to certain things in iOS. That's transitional stuff.

I'm going to Cancun starting tomorrow and returning Monday. Leaving the S23 Ultra home and taking my iPhone just because I have everything set up for my travel already and don't want to forget something and then be scrambling on an OS that I haven't used much in years. I think that'll be the big determining factor on how I move forward. If I can't wait to use it again while I'm in Mexico, then I think it's a keeper. If I generally enjoy my experience again on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, then I'll probably stay put. Really tough to think about sending the S23 Ultra back though!
Your trip would be the perfect time to leave your comfort zone and dive into the Samsung. You iOS guys!

I did the same a long time ago, i still use my Macbook Air as i hate windows for anything but a HTPC server. I have a Samsung Gear S3 classic watch which is nice and will soon be replaced with my Free Galaxy Watch 5 that came with my S23U as part of a promotion. I just found IOS and Apple way too restrictive, of course you lose some of the seamless ecosystem advantages but you gain so much control, freedom and most importantly choice when buying.

Wow you must be really impressed with the S23 Ultra, I'm glad that people seem to be loving it so far, although it does make me wish mine was here already

Cheers,

Have added it but no matter what I do I can't get it to display the weather on it. Only Day, Date showing up for me

Have you got location tracking turned on? I had that issue with my S22 Ultra and later found out I needed to have my location on.

Has anyone here got experience returning a NON defective phone that came with pre-order cases/goodies to Samsung? Are they difficult about issuing returns or charge restocking fees?

I've done it in the UK with zero problems but we do have consumer laws over here which means we have a basic right to return stuff within a certain time period even if we just change our minds.

...but yeah, samsung were brilliant tbh

ps. sounds like you're really not getting on with the screen then :(
