This is crazy how bad it's getting with trade INS ...we need to get Samsung involved more with taking responsibility for the service they are using for them trades ...
I think since they moved to a different 3rd party company the experience has changed.

Because the Fold 4 trade in process went fairly smooth... I seen a few post regarding "lost phone" or "cracked phone" from various users. But as I stated before, when users brought up they had their own footage... Samsung disregarded 3rd party claim and pushed through the trade in.

But you are right... Samsung should take a more personal approach given this is a new 3rd party company to make sure the experience goes relatively smooth.

Are you able to see the weight of the package on FedEx? Mine is 1.5 pounds so if Samsung tries the same **** with me, I'm going to use that as additional proof.
If I'm not mistaken, you can't really argue the weight of the package to Samsung since it's a prepaid package... there's no weight to factor in.

I was hoping to do the same... but when I dropped mine off to FedEx, I wanted them to weigh it to provide some proof. But they scanned my package.. gave me the receipt and that was it.

How long after Samsung received your trade in did you get an answer? Just wondering how long I need to be in eggshells for lol

For me, I received an email from Samsung on a Saturday that the trade in was received... when in reality it was on Friday since the tracking number indicated the package was delivered.

Tuesday, midnight... I received an email the trade in was successful. 1k trade in, I was relieved lol. But some took 3+ days... have Samsung sent you a received email?

I think my s23 ultra has the odd lamination issue on the bottom right corner but it is hard to see. You have to shine a bright light, have the screen off and angle it so you can see it.

I would rather it be perfect but honestly if I can't see it when I use the screen and it doesn't distort the image then it is not a big issue.
That's the "issue" that Samsung says isn't an issue lol

Well everyone is aware of my Samsung trade in saga. When thery said I had a cracked display....i told them to send my S22U back. It will arrive tomorrow. BTW my S22U was perfect and not had a mark on it.

I decided to keep the S23 Ultra. It is by far the best overall Android phone I have had...and I have had a LOT of Android phones to date.
I will sell the S22U when it comes back tomorrow and get more for it than samsung was going to give me for it anyway.

But I am concerned that samsung has not corrected the whole trade in fiasco in texas as the trade in sent to their Tennessee site has not had all the complaints texas has had.

I'm glad to hear that you are still keeping it. Must have been a tough decision because I already am fired up about a potential issue and I haven't even experienced one lol. I just checked in mine is going to Tennessee so that has me feeling a bit better.

Agreed with you though. This is by far the best Android phone I've ever used. I cannot believe how stable Android has gotten. It just works lol

You should be safe with the trade in going to Tennessee. I have heard of any complaints from that location.
Fingers crossed for you!

Wow, it’s always scary reading these package/mail theft, especially in a developed country. I’m just glad we seem to be doing a better job here in Indonesia. For trade ins, a courier will come with the new phone in a brown package, and I gave to the person my phone. The courier checks it, scan the IMEI, give my my new phone (which he doesn’t know what phone is inside), and that’s it. Seems simpler.
Yep, in Malaysia and Thailand you agree trade in online and get all the discounts etc but a guy physically comes to your door and does the final inspection and takes your trade in after you have received your new phone from Samsung

Could not be easier or more secure

In UK similar to US trade-in process , but never had an Issue

So the Tennessee location has not had any issues? I had pretty much decided to hold on to my trade in and sell it or just hold on to it and give to one of the kids. But if TN is safe I might go ahead and send it in. Crazy, I'm just a few miles from the Coppell return center but my label actually has TN on it.

There is a couple of threads over on Android Central about the S23 trade ins. Just aboput everyone that went to Coppell has had some kind of issues. But so far no trade ins going to Tennessee has reported any issues.

Makes me think that maybe everyone should just call the police in that city and tell them that their items are being damaged, stolen, or that they are trying to commit fraud.

another option is to file a small claims case in local court. That way Samsung has to hire a local lawyer to go to court. this would end up costing them more than the $155 they seem intent on charging everyone lol.
Then if they did not appear in court it would lead to a default judgement.

If there was any media attention to the Coppel Texas location or the issue with trade in/returns made through there it might change things quickly. Bad media attention will make Samsung act a lot faster than anything else.

Developed country? Oh goodness. I guess we are? My mom was a little girl when her small Asian Pacific home was shredded apart by war so she truly knows undeveloped conditions. She spent her childhood in a wasteland. Compared to her, my childhood even in a neighborhood torn by gun and drug violence was privileged, so I wouldn't presume to rate my own country vs others. But I will heed her own alarmed observations over the decades she's lived here.

Even she, at the advice of her siblings, returned to her homeland for mental healthcare back when she still had her citizenship. She could get a level of care there that doesn't exist here and she didn't have to pay for it. (I paid for the plane tickets with my college money).

I went with her and was just in shock and awe at the difference. So was she. She said when she was a kid the "doctor" was the matriarch of the village.

She's always been keenly aware of signs that things are about to go off the rails and many of the things she predicted years ago like increasingly stripped down services and growing homeless camps in suburban shopping centers have indeed become reality, even in my quaint, thriving, charming country town.

So no, this recent thing with whatever is going on in Copell Texas isn't quite the shock it should be for how things currently are here.
I'm not going to worry about the phone or anything right now. I'm pretty sick and sore with an autoimmune flareup so I'm just resting. My husband wants to handle it and that's fine by me.

I'm taking @mjschabow suggestion to use package weight as evidence. I used the same packing materials as were provided plus a little extra bubble wrap around the phone box. I don't know if that will mean anything but I'll pass it along to my husband.

I'm so glad to hear you're keeping your S23 Ultra. I would have understood and respected any decision you made. But this is a really fantastic phone.

I do have a little bit of eye strain on it but I can still read as long as I want to on it. It isn't doing to me what the one I returned did.

Meanwhile the functionality is fantastic. It's the upgrade I'd hoped it would be.

The camera is excellent so far. I'm still getting a feel for it and I can see so much potential because I'm allowed so many options and so much control.

Oh goodness, and on a day like today where I'm really not feeling up to doing much I can just simply admire the pink! The pink side rails and the pale pink with hint of lavender make me smile.

I took a look at how Best Buy is selling and handling trades these days. I think next time I'll wait until after preorders and buy and do my trades with them. I'm still hoping to keep this one 2 years though, even if it's not 1 TB.

Lol I AM actually still using my S22 Ultra, too. It's not just sitting there. I even have my Pixel 6 Pro charged up. I'm still having a hard time looking at the display for very long but I can still use the camera and do other comparisons and have some fun tomorrow.

bit of a revelation day for me really... I put my sim back in my iphone as I was going through a "miss apple" moment.... got bored of macos by lunchtime and was fedup with my iphone a little while later... somehow, it felt like I was forever swiping up and missing the back on the samsung.

dunno but I'm starting to think I've "evolved" ;-)

Anyone figured out how to eliminate audio delay with the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro when it comes to gaming? I only occasionally play Mariokart and noticed it. I've tried everything within the phone settings to no avail. Really disappointing, otherwise the Buds sound great.

I haven't had the issue personally. Have you tried Game Booster at all? Not sure if that would do anything but just a thought.

I saw a suggestion to go into "Labs" setting within the Wear app and enable Game Mode. It helped to the point where it is acceptable now.

I just watched Flossy's review of the new Soundpeats capsule 3 Pros for $50, seems like a much better option than the Buds 2 Pro. May give them a try.

I am keeping the S23 Ultra, I packed up my iPhone 14 pro and Apple Watch Ultra and sold them today. Both fabulous devices, I just have more fun with the S23 U. As for iMessage and WhatsApp, all my family except me now have iPhones and we all used WhatsApp. Blue or green bubbles don't bother me either way. My son works in the US, the rest of us are in the UK.

I’m watching an Amazon Prime movie on my S23 Ultra. The last movie I watched gave me a bit of eye strain. So I went into settings and changed the settings and I’m fine now. I would never use these settings for anything else but for the movie it made a positive difference. I’m just glad Samsung gives us so many options. I think Apple does too but you have to wander all over the menus to find them all!

My 14 Pro Max and my S22 and S23 Ultra all do a great job displaying this particular movie I’m watching which is Volcano, Fire on the Mountain. So far the movie is boring though. Which is why I’m taking a break from it and posting here. Unfortunately there’s no setting to fix that. But the volcano hasn’t exploded yet and has only eaten two people so far. Basically a split opened up in the snow and two newlyweds who really shouldn’t have been in that area fell into it after yelling “aggggggghhhhhh.” I don’t know why movies always make newlyweds look and sound so stupid.

I guess I just need to be patient. So far it’s just a lot of people in bad relationships being snarky to each other. 🙄. I actually don’t want any death and destruction, but I want to see people driving around in speeding trucks thinking panicked scientific thoughts. Instead, so far there’s just one guy at a desk thinking panicked scientific thoughts while his boss snarks at him. It’s like listening to one of my husband’s Zoom meetings. 😵‍💫

Okay, back to the movie. I think there might be some action coming up because a guy just fell over after inhaling what probably is toxic gas from the fissure the other couple fell into. Or maybe he just…nah…it is probably from the volcano. However, everyone in the movie did just eat lunch…
