I forgot about that!
Yep I am sure you guys with pets can capture some cute clips

I have been trying for 2 weeks to capture a Kingfisher that takes daily dips in my pool

The only bird I get is the Mrs hanging out washing LOL. She's in competition with the Kingfisher as they both use the same tree

We cant get rotary dryers here so the wife hangs her dresses on the small Frangipani tree

Hey guys maybe you can help me with something.

I'm trying to set a custom notification sound and it's selected under settings but it's still using the stock sound.

Do I need to restart the phone for it take effect?

Just tried to install Whitestone dome screen protector and what a total disaster.

Glue everywhere. Glue wouldn't go to bottom half of the screen. When I tria second time same thing.

Glue got on the back of the phone and the frame. I tried to get it off but it seems like it messed up the finish.

I don't know what to do. I didn't even get a chance to use the uv lamp so nothing cured but the glue was everywhere.

Going to try and get a refund from Whitestone. I have dealing with curved screens.

I am going to try a film next.

My mother and I used to hang out washing out, too, here in the US. Our family didn't get an indoor clothes dryer until a little bit before I got married and moved out.

Now, I think with climate change it would be just about impossible to hang laundry outside reliably. We will get the most vicious wind storms out of nowhere. There is considerable damage to the side of my house from a recent one that I need to get addressed.

Also we have a horrible infestation of vultures the last four years or so. I never saw one before except at a distance and now they are all over, covering our roof, attempting to rip off shingles, and turning trees a dismal grey with the mass of them just watching eerily. It's like a horror movie.

They're disgusting! They drool endlessly and do other disgusting things so there's no safe way to leave laundry out.

They're also aggressive and vindictive. They're extremely intelligent but in behavior they're psychopaths. I'll have to get a photo of them sometime for you.

I had thought this would be the home we would watch our grandkids in but now I'm not so sure. Edited to add: That's because as horrific as they are (they will attack children not bothering them) they are protected by Federal law. You can't legally even throw a pebble at them to shoo them away. They'd just try to get even with you anyway.

I used the LK ones this time, really easy to apply and no bubbles.

I've also got samsungs own but didn't need to use them because the LK worked fine.

I THINK @GrumpyMom tried both lk and samsung, be interesting to know which was better
There's LK newly installed on my S22 Ultra and the Samsung brand on my S23 Ultra and I feel they're pretty equal!

brilliant... so no point in me ripping the lk off to put the samsung on then :)
Nope not at all. The Samsung one feels maybe a bit thicker? But they're both smooth and clear. All the minimal bubbles I had during these installations worked out completely by day 3.

As for @swarlos question I'm sorry I'm using stock sounds so I don't know the answer.

its something weird in android I think... I had the same thing... if only I could remember what I did to fix it LOL

It was something like I had to turn the alert on/off or something weird :/ I'll try and remember but you'll probably have fixed it by then if you keep playing.

The bad experience with Whitestone dome kind of ruined my day. Thought maybe I damaged the phone finish. Can you guys verify that the finish is polished but has a almost blasted type finish. Like it is polished but there is some sort of texture too? Tried cleaning the glue off. But I don't know because of the texture. I didn't look at the finish super closely until after I had the mishap.

I never liked wet installs but I didn't have this happen on the Pixel 7 Pro.

Screen protector are just such a pain on curved screens.

I got a EPU film. Supposed to be different than TPU. Hopefully I won't get a sea of bubbles like I normally do. The LK protector was a UK product? I couldn't seem to find the brand in US?

Also Boost mobile is a disaster right now and porting my phone number has taken two days so far and still hasn't completed.

😰😥😱

Did everyone in here only get the S23 Ultra? I got the S23 and I love it! Great smartphone!

I was going to get the regular s23. But I was thinking about it and I am a pretty heavy user and my eyes are older now so larger screen was something I thought would be important. I also want to keep the phone a couple years and decided I didn't want to compromise.

Luckily the Google Fi promotion made the ultra affordable. I sold my s22 plus on Swappa and it mostly paid for the cost.

So glad I did because now I understand why people love the ultra. It is such a great phone and I can see why it costs more.

not sure and cos I have the protector on I can't really check

I won't ever do wet installs again. I tried it at work and I can still remember the howls of laughter as they watched the video with me showing a perfect install then looked at my out of alignment, sticky folded up mess on my phone LOL

I would've thought it was in the US because I only found it when DisneyMom mentioned it

I think this is the last time I try a wet Loca install. Let's see if Whitestone will do anything to rectify the situation. Not very confident they will do anything.

Sucks spending a high price on something that doesn't work.

I will check Amazon again for the LK protector.

I was talking about the aluminum frame not the screen. The glue got on the frame and back glass of the phone. Even got in the stickers. Luckily I hadn't cured it but I am not sure if I was able to remove all the glue or if it damaged the aluminum finish. Just want to make sure it doesn't look totally high mirror polished. If the frame has a high mirror polish then the glue damaged the finish.

Thanks

My aluminum sides look a scratched up mess because I never remove the clear stickers that cover all four aluminum sides. They look sort of shiny but not high mirror polish. There's a little bit of matte kind of gloss to them I think. I hope you didn't damage it. I am very good at installing screen protectors but I never got up the nerve to try the glue ones that need to be cured.

Omg I gotta go cat breaking into new loaf of bread.

Sorry for the terrible experience, this is why I will never again buy any phone with a curved screen. Good that you hadn't cured the screen protector yet. I recall the same thing happening to me a few years ago, glue all over the place and even got into the gaps in my phone (speaker grille, sim tray, etc). I used rubbing alcohol to thoroughly remove the liquid and it seemed to be fine after that. I am not sure if rubbing alcohol would damage the phone frame, but I don't think so?

You should demand a refund from them. If worst case scenario the phone is damaged (highly, highly unlikely) I doubt they would do anything.

I offer you a cute Kingfisher photo and you up the stakes to a Vulture LOL

Of course we have a Tumble dryer as we Brits call them and not that I am a greenie we tend not to use it other than to fluff up the sheets and towels as the climate is good in central Thailand. We have a PV solar system too but that's for the AC mainly and running the Jacuzzi heat pump occasionally :)

Still will try with the super slow mo on my F4

I caught this in KL, I always wanted to get lightning strike on the twin towers but never caught it but did see it twice from my office window

This super slow mo is another understated feature on Samsung phones :)

Inching closer to eliminating Apple from my tech world. Canceled Apple Music which I've used since the beginning, for Tidal HiFi (took advantage of the $2 60-day trial). Using the Buds 2 Pro w/ Samsung Seamless codec, the music sounds really great. In 2023 Apple still has no HiFi capable wireless ear buds...I realize BlueTooth wireless and HiFi is kind of an oxymoron, but I can hear the subtle difference between APP and Apple Music vs Buds 2 Pro HiFi on Android. Speaking of the Buds, they've worked perfectly on work phone calls all week, especially the ambient noise mode. My AirPods Pro 2 are sitting in my drawer with spare old phone cases and whatnot...I still can't believe how APP went from best in class call quality to complete trash since I've had the 14 Pro Max / iOS 16. Maybe mine are just defective.

Next on the list, transferring all of my iCloud photos onto Google Photos or just onto my phone storage. Have to take advantage of Samsung's "free" pre-order upgrade to 512gb.

I have to figure out what to do with iTunes Match that I pay $25 a year for. Do people still even pay for this? Some years ago I uploaded a lot of my live music to the cloud so I could stream it from wherever. Can't say it is all that useful to me anymore.

Apple really locks you in after several years of just using their services.

Not ready to sell my iPhone anytime soon, but if I can get completely out of the ecosystem while just using the iPhone, that's a win. My goal isn't to swear off iPhone, but to not be locked into any ecosystem so I can use whatever damn phone or service I want.

Well everyone is aware of my Samsung trade in saga. When thery said I had a cracked display....i told them to send my S22U back. It will arrive tomorrow. BTW my S22U was perfect and not had a mark on it.

I decided to keep the S23 Ultra. It is by far the best overall Android phone I have had...and I have had a LOT of Android phones to date.
I will sell the S22U when it comes back tomorrow and get more for it than samsung was going to give me for it anyway.

But I am concerned that samsung has not corrected the whole trade in fiasco in texas as the trade in sent to their Tennessee site has not had all the complaints texas has had.
Udate on my S22 Ultra trade in drama
I asked for it to be sent back to me. I got it today and no cracked display or damage anywhere!
Except they didn't send back the S-Pen! Bastards!

I would take pictures of your device and the lack of s pen. Contact Samsung and show them the emails saying that the screen was damaged and you now in possession of the phone and no cracked screen.

I would tell them this proves what you had already told them that there was no damage to your phone and that it also proves that there is fraud going on at the Texas trade in center.

I would ask for them to allow you to do the trade again with full value. And that the one that you are sending doesn't have an spen thanks to the Texas location.

I would push for a supervisor if you get any pushback and once they agree I would also push for some compensation in the form of a credit or coupon you can use in the future.

I know you don't want to deal with it but as a matter of principle I would. Also since you have proof that the trade in center was lying I would tell them that you know you aren't the only one who has had this problem and if Samsung wants people to trust their trade in service they should do an investigation immediately. Maybe you can help some people.

Of course you may just be fed up with it and want to sell privately or keep it. BUT it would be good if you could tell them what is going on and submit your proof and ask at least they send you a new s pen so you can sell or use it properly.

Either way I am sorry the ordeal they put you through. A shame really.
