Some new leaks of the demensions of the S8 and S8 Plus. Not a deal breaker, but hopefully that micro USB port isn't true. The rest of it, I dig.

That silver prototype/ mock-up sure looks real. From the leaks I've seen that is very close to the final product.

I want to know will the Plus or larger version have a beast battery ? Let's see 4,000mAh :)

That would make it wider and thicker than the iPhone 7 plus.

LOL , let's not say things without looking at the whole picture. Basically with these rumored demensions, the S8 Plus with a massive 6.2 inch display, will be 0.6mm wider than the iPhone 7 plus with a much smaller 5.5 display. At the same time the S8 Plus will be a very noticible 5.82mm shorter. WOW! Also 0.64mm thicker. Damn I am loving those demensions. Bezels simply have no place on a high end premium phone.

Someone with good photoshop skills - can you verify if this is legit?

Damn, that looks legit. But on closer inspection, I have to say it's photoshopped. Zoom in on the front facing camera. You can see they cropped it with a square selection tool, then moved it up to fit in the smaller bezel.

It's madness :D

In actual fact, if we just compare the current S7 Edge to the big and clunky iPhone 7 Plus, it's amazing how Samsung fit the exact same screen in a much smaller body, without even removing a good feature like headphone jack. :)

Nowhere days I see phones like the iPhone 7 Plus, an think to myself how unnecessarily large they are.

I can't wait until Samsung unleash this S8.

They must make a 5.1inch variant.

Well it's basically the size of the galaxy note 4

Here is the galaxy note5 vs the galaxy note 4:

So according to dimensions you provided it's basically a galaxy note 4 that's a bit slimmer

Sure it might have a 6.2 inch screen, but it is going to feel more like a brick to hold when it's thicker and wider than the iPhone 7 plus, which a lot of members on this board already stated as much compared to the s7 edge and the note 7.

Are you really not getting it? Being a 6.2 inch display completely "changes everything." lol, but seriously it does.

He doesn't get it at all.

Past phones with >6.0inch displays were closer to being Tablets than normal phones. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra was quite the unwieldy thing to use. How Samsung has managed to get the S8 Plus to have such a large display with the dimensions of a Note 4 would be incredible, and actual innovation, instead of being like some manufacturers that just keep using the same clunky design.

I hope all this about S8 Plus is true, it will bode well for the Note 8. :)

Samsung will go all out for S8 - they are not going to leave anything missing. With Note 7 being a bomb they are going to come out with everything they got. Expect good times for those who plan to upgrade from older phones.

The biggest question of 2017 for the S8.

Will the new S8 run as smooth and lag free as the Google Pixel ?

Because right now the S7 Edge with the SD820 vs. Pixel XL with pretty much the same hardware, there's no comparison, the Pixel is hands down a smoother more lag free hiccup free OS to use compared to Touchwiz on the U.S. carrier version of the S7 Edge.

If they were able to reduce the size of the S7 Edge while making the screen a bit bigger, why not do the same for the regular S7? Instead of 6.3" and 5.8", they could have done 5.8" and 5.2" (both 0.1" bigger and smaller bodies). 6.3" and 5.8" are too close, in my opinion, plus it leaves a window open for competitors to target smaller devices.

S8 will probably be my next jump on t-mobile. The timing is just about right when that one is released.

In the meantime my eyes are focused on the Mate 9.

You keep saying that. But it would still make it wider and thicker than an iPhone 7 plus, in the Hand and in the pocket it will be bigger.
The note 4 was a brick.

I wonder how big the display is not counting the edge displays?

5.6 to 5.8 inches?

Looks like the Iris scanner will be in. A GS7 with a Iris Scanner, embedded FP Scanner, USB Type C, 6GB RAM, Snapdragon 835, better camera, 4K display, Bixby, Desktop Mode, 3D Touch, Dual Stereo Speakers, and a better UX than Grace is all I want.

Wow. I was going to wait until next year but that sounds incredible. A major upgrade for over 1 generation (the sum of all parts)

Exynos 8895 for me as I'm in Canadaland :D

Even better. By industry standards, Samsung could get away with a QHD screen instead of the 4K Display and still get critical acclaim if they implement the changes I want. Their phone was the phone of 2016. But expect a Snapdragon 835 perhaps because the Note 7 had a 820 in Canada. That's what my cousin had in his Note 7 when he visited me here last year.

No disrespect to Qualcomm, but I want the Exynos. My Note 7 (820) was smooth but it also had the Grace UI. So an Exynos with an improved new Grace UI on the S8 could only get that much smoother.
