If I intended to stick with the S8 long term and activate a new line, I would go BOGO.

Another comparison, this time between the Note 5, S8, and regular iPhone 7. Again, the S8 for the most part get more onscreen even when compared to the Note, this new aspect ratio is it, they just need to eliminate the top and bottom bezels so the phone isn't so tall.

Wow the Note 5 screen looks huge next to the s8. The S8 only fits more on screen because the elements are rendered smaller.

How are the speakers on the s8 btw?

@Fernandez21 instead of eliminating the top and bottom bezels, I'd rather they get dual speakers in there maybe?
That would work too. Speaker is louder than both my S7 and Note 8, but my iPhone's speaker still sound better imo.

But I do think at least shrinking the top and bottom will make these phones feel even better in hand, the width feels great though.

Yeah, but you can change that in settings if you prefer things bigger. Both are set to the smallest font size and most compact view and the S8 is getting more onscreen while being easier to handle.

Also when watching extended widescreen video, the image is actually bigger on the S8.

The width blows my mind. Makes one handed use of the device easier.

I just started noticing something today with my S8+ lock screen.

On my lock screen (not using AOD) I noticed when I power the screen, there's a slight delay showing my clock and notification. I never recall having this issue before this morning.

Step-by-step: While screen is off, I use the power or home button to power up screen; first screen turns on, wallpaper shows, then clock and notification. There seems to be a small delay and not instant like I remember it being.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is it normal or should I reset the device? I already tried clearing out the cache through recovery and switching the theme, but I still experience the delay.

EDIT: After searching on youtube, it seems to be normal. Feel free to share your feedback, though!

Yeah but when you set things to be bigger and equal to the Note 5 the S8 won't show more onscreen since it's not physically longer than the Note 5. On the widescreen video I would assume 16:9 content would either be stretched out making it not really larger, or it would be letterboxed on the sides. For true 18:9 content yeah it would probably look decent, but I'm not aware if any content is specifically out there, maybe Samsung?

Got a massive (650mb) software update for my S8 today.

Didn't say much specifically apart from improving Bluetooth and a couple of other things (apart from usual fixes etc).

Did it bring you to the May security update level? Still waiting for that on mine.
