I think I'll wait a bit until prices come down a bit. I waited a few months before pulling the trigger on the S8+ and got it basically for OnePlus prices. That's awesome value for a Samsung flagship. This S8+ should serve me perfectly fine until the initially skyhigh S9 prices settle down at least a bit.

That's what I always do. If memory serves, I got my S8 for £450! It had only been out for a couple of months at that point.

Tbh I'm really happy with it. I doubt I'll change unless a bargain comes up.

No point in upgrading to the S9 for you unless you can sell the S8+ and then pay minimal out of pocket for the S9. If the "Annual Samsung Bog" is still a thing, then yeah, S8+ can go away.

Don't know if this real or not, time will tell.

But here's the retail box for the S9: https://www.androidauthority.com/alleged-galaxy-s9-retail-box-reveals-new-details-829948/

There could be a variable lens within the camera (interesting), STEREO SPEAKERS (YES PLEASE), Super Slo Mo....

But otherwise it mostly seems the same. TBH if Samsung refine the S8, I wouldn't be too mad. They did that from S6 to S7, and the S7 is (for me) the best all-round phone pretty much ever made in most respects.

S9+ seems to have much more going for it than just a bigger screen. S8/S8+ difference was minimal, display size and battery. S9+ seems to have more RAM, dual camera apart from display/battery. If this means that S9 will be cheaper than S8, I don't mind.

1.5 aperture is nice, pretty lame though if they start not having feature parity in the different sizes

Bugged me when Apple did it, and definitely bugs me that Samsung are going to as well. Maybe there's just not enough space to do it on the S9.

Would you prefer white on the front bezel as well? Or just the back being white with a black front like last years S8?
I have black and white Pixel 2 XL and it is white on the back with black front bezels. I kinda like it that way. I would love to have a S9+ with a white back and black front :)

I think it would look amazing with both front and back being white.

I believe part of the reason Samsung make the front Black is due to all the cut-outs for the Iris Scanner (incl. Infrared sensor), Light Sensor and Front camera looking a bit much. Hopefully they find a way to hide all this, although I believe it wouldn't look bad if they place them in a balanced and symmetrical manner.

I've got no doubt the S9 will be an amazing flagship, but I think it's safe to say the big guns were left for the 10th anniversary S10. Same goes for the Note 10. Just my guess of course.

Yeah, we'll probably see a whole new Design for S and Note series in the S10 and Note10, I think that will be the major factor with those phones, same as when Samsung launched the S6 and Note5 with the current design that they have now evolved up to this point.

S7 was a refinement of the S6.

S9 will be a refinement of the S8.

Year after year, it's always a refinement. But starting from the very first Galaxy S, year after year, Samsung has always made a noticeable change to form factor. This will be the first year that won't happen, that is, if the leaks are correct. So my guess is, the big change in form factor will be the 10th anniversary. It'll be the perfect time as consumers will be hungrier for a new form factor, as they just had two years of the same design. Don't get me wrong, the current design of the S8 and Note 8 I feel are as perfect as it gets. Maybe slightly less bezel at the bottom, but that's about it. I don't want that horrendous notch design making its way in. I welcome that small bezel at the top to house the camera and sensors. Just my opinion.

4gb RAM for S9? Pass. Note8 showed that Sammy phones need lots of RAM to run as well in execution as they should in theory based on specs. I’m hoping the S9+ has 6gb of RAM.

Could the S9/9+ and Note 9 be the last "all glass" Galaxy flagship devices we see? A recent trademark filing suggests we possibly could see a metal smartphone from Samsung. Would be an interesting move.

I don't see them moving away from wireless charging for the Galaxy S or Note lines though.....

What are people really expecting when we are getting close to bezel-less designs, there is only so much you can do to a rectangle.
