I disagree.. Chinese competitors (Oppo Find N and Xiaomi Mix Fold 2) have done an incredible job having a less visible crease to the point you hardly see it at all, but the only problem is those phones lack water resistance.
Who cares about water resistance when it's at the expense of having a great big crease down the middle of your screen. Madness.

Many would prefer a crease down the middle of their display in order to have water resistance? Who are these fools? They should get their roof fixed.

In my experience, you really don't notice the crease when using. I personally like the extra protection of the water resistance.

It'll be nice to have both, but for now, I'm good with the water resistance.

The 14 Pro's look great, but still keeping the Fold4. Everytime I open this 7.6-inch screen, it's still a wow moment for me. I love Apple but jeez, it's so difficult going back to a regular phone after using a foldable. It just feels futuristic.

Yeah, that Dynamic Island feature is clever. I didn’t expect that… I seen rumors mentioning Apple is planning on doing something with that pill shape design, but wasn’t expecting that much thoughtfulness.

And yeah, I enjoy Apple devices… still have my iPad Pro and Apple TV. I just don’t prefer to have an iPhone.

I wholeheartedly agree. I'm surprised at the prices for the Pro's. They stayed the same. These are going to sell well.

Um.. I suspect that 14 Plus will get plenty of action at the $899 price point. But not too surprised at the prices of the Pro’s… there were rumors the Fold 4 was going to have a price jump, but it stayed the same.

I’m just happy I scored the 512gb model for the price of the 256gb one.

I think that'll be when I finally start thinking about diving into the foldable world too. I'm not sure how that technology could be pulled off, but it would be really cool!
Cool factor indeed ...it can work IMO .... 007 style

I’ve been sitting back with my 13PM watching the Fold line carefully. I briefly tried the Fold 2 and 3 and they just weren’t ready in my eyes to take over as my daily. But I’m convinced now that the only thing that will take me away from the iPhone is the Fold. I’m just waiting for the outside screen to widen a bit and for software to mature and then I’m all in. I’m really hoping Google don’t bail early on foldable support like they do with everything else. Samsung can only do so much without Google leaning on app devs to support foldable UIs.

Yeah, but when I think of foldables… it’s more so about tablet support. Google is already committed to updating their own apps to support tablet UI. Supposedly, Android 12L helps devs with building a better tablet app. The tools are there… its up to devs to take advantage of them.

There is already a Pixel tablet on the way… their foldable phone is now delayed, hopefully it means they are trying to iron out the bugs.

100% with you. Too comfortable in my walled garden but keeping a close eye on Foldables.

Yep 12L should help Android tablets and Foldables take that next step. Honestly, looking at the Fold now, things are so much better than when it was first released. Even though there are still some experiences that need to be better optimized the experience now is so unique and adds so much value to the device that its hard for me to use my slab devices now. Example, I am a coach on my son's football team. Instead of having a clipboard or notebook on the field flipping through a playbook looking at the plays, I have all the plays on my Fold. Made a folder for them in the Files app and I can either scroll through the files by name of play or if I don't want to take the time to scroll I can type in the first few letters of the play in the search bar and it pops up. If I want to make a change to a route or blocking schemes I can pull out the S pen and draw it on the screen and show the kids. That's obviously a unique use case as most won't need that. Just one of many examples of how foldables can make day to day tasks more convenient.

I'm really excited to see Google and Apple's take on foldables when the time comes. Apple will no doubt have the best hardware and most optimized ecosystem due to how great the iPad ecosystem is but I hope they finally decide to maximize the use of space on tablet devices. Multitasking is so much better on my Tab S8 Ultra and Fold 4.

Obviously the millions that choose the most popular folding smart phones over other oem's

I see only one fool here LOL
Anyone who chooses waterproofing over not having a crease down the middle of their screen is a fool. Purchasing the phone does not mean that you prefer waterproofing over not having a crease down the screen.

LOL anyone who passes judgement like this without owning or using the phone and knowing another's personal needs in a device is a fool. I hardly ever notice the crease in day to day usage. The lighting has to reflect on it a certain way for it to be visible. Looking at it head on you can't even see it. Even playing Call of Duty Mobile on it, the crease never detracts from the experience. I occasionally notice it if I drag my finger across it, but that's it. Even when using the S Pen to mark up construction drawings or sign pdfs the crease does not detract from the experience.

Now, if it didn't have water resistance? That would completely detract from my use case of this phone. I wouldn't take it on vacation. I wouldn't set it on a table in a restaurant. I wouldn't set it on the bar on my patio when I'm having a drink. I wouldn't have it on the sidelines when coaching my kids sports teams. I wouldn't take it on my boat. Hell I even use this thing in my pool. The crease may bother YOU, but to say anyone who doesn't agree with you is a fool makes you look like a fool.

You're completely missing my point.
I'm interested in maybe buying the Fold 4 in spite of the crease. Yeah? However, if Samsung offered me a much more minimal crease in exchange for no waterproofing I would snap their hands off and I suspect that many would too. My last umpteen handsets have been water resistant and do you know how many times I have needed that feature? Zip. Never. How many times have I not wanted a crease down the middle of my screen? Erm, every second of the time that I use my phones.

Would I trade water resistance in order to lose the crease down the middle? In a heartbeat and I suspect that the vast majority would. Only a fool would actively want a crease down the middle of their screens in order to have the least used and frankly next to pointless feature of water resistance. YMMV.

I can't say anyone would ACTIVELY want a crease, however, I think given the choice most people would see lack of water resistance as a complete deal breaker whereas millions and millions of Fold and Flip devices have sold with the crease and they are only gaining in popularity. I understand we all have difference of opinions and the crease may bother you and you don't want water resistance. That doesn't make you a "fool". However, others aren't a fool for placing a higher value on water resistance. As active as my life is, I need water resistance. I've had at least a few instances where it has saved my ass. For instance I had my boat beached at the lake. I have a portable grill I can add to a mount on the back of my boat. One time when I was grilling some fajitas I guess I accidentally kicked my iPhone 13PM off the swim platform into the lake. I guess it was my lucky day as even after consuming many alcoholic beverages (I had a driver) I happened to step on my phone in the sand about 2.5 ft deep in the water. It had been down there at least a couple hours and worked as if nothing ever happened. Again, not a case for everyone, but there are many more people than you think that lead active lifestyles that place a high value water resistance.

OK fair enough. I retract the 'fool' comment. I do think that more people would trade the waterproofing feature in order to not have such a prominent crease down the screen. It's apparently a dealbreaker for many but I wonder how many would find a lack of waterproofing a dealbreaker? I guess we'll never know.

I'm betting Samsung figures out how to get the water resistance without the crease in the next couple versions. From what I've read they have been trying different designs but still not there yet. If they don't do it, Apple will likely get it there. No way they release a high end device with a crease and I can't see them releasing one without water resistance either.

I just received my $200 reward code… unfortunately have nothing to use it for.

Was thinking of buying those Galaxy Buds2 Pro… but um, they didn’t seem like a worthy upgrade for me. And I’m definitely not upgrading my Watch 4 Classic to the Watch 5 Pro. I’m guessing I have to wait it out till December 8th to see if there’s some crazy deal. Because I was thinking about the Tab S8 so could give it to a family member.
