Even with that, where's her FaceTime button to video chat with her grandkids. Lol. We overlooked how important that was to her. But we definitely learned that day because she gave us an ear full.
Seems your mum is a tech wizard compared to my Father in Law and why Samsung's easy mode is so good, we just set him up with an old S7 for phone calls and sms LOL

Since we're all making fun of our folks. My dad asked me how to do something on his iPhone a few years ago and here was our text to each other. Excuse his language, lol. He was almost 80 when he sent this, which makes me laugh harder when I think about it.

I'm the green bubble...

Haha. I guess older people don't like change. She went from a 6s (had it for at least 5 years) to S22 Ultra to now an iPhone 13 Pro Max. We thought she'd love going from the 4.7-inch to 6.8-inch screen but apparently she wasn't pleased with how confusing Android was. We should have known better so we got the biggest screen size Apple offered.

Ordered a 1TB Pro Max for my wife and a 512gb Pro Max for my Mum.

Over £1700 in the UK for the £1TB with no other incentives.

The iPhone makes my Fold 4 a complete bargain in comparison. However, women usually do not like Android so I have no choice.
My wife is one of the exceptions. She carried a work iPhone for three years and hated it, and will never own one. She's a Pixel girl through and through. :)

Is everyone still on the July security patch? I am. I have the unlocked version, using on Verizon.

I have been impressed with the camera on the Fold 4.
The main camera on the Fold 4 is superb easily up there with the S22 Ultra & sometimes even beating it, but i reckon this could be down to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 image processing being slightly better than both the Exynos & Snapdragon found in the S22 Ultra.

Yep, international unlocked version and same on the Mrs Flip 4 July patch

One thing I've noticed going of past Flips & Folds they slower to get updates compared to the S series, Android 13 for example will probably drop soon for the S22 series while both the Flip & Fold will probably be a month or so after, and could even drop behind the S21 series before seeing it.

And for reference my Tab S8 was stuck on May patch for months even after a few updates, before they finally caught up with the recent One Ui 4.1.1 update.

Can't say I get overly excited or concerned about it :)

I guess there is a bit of logic to it given there is likely many more S22 owners than Folds or Flips

Do people see the Fold 4 screen crease cracking over time like previous Folds? I'd be all over this on a 12 month upgrade path but I'm not convinced it will last 24 months of heavy use...

My Folds 1 and 2 sold to friends have no issues and I expect the same, given most countries get a minimum free 2 year warranty I see no concern especially as production tested to minimum 5 years

The real concern users should have is how fragile typical glass backs are and especially with Apple how expensive it is to replace, more if I am not mistaken than the Folds front screen and as that is more often than not closed is more protected than any slab phone

Had the 3, nearly got the 4 but a bbc article about how their flip screen died made me decide to pause. (Work handing me an ipad didn't hurt either :))

Hope everyone is loving theirs, the upgraded camera was what I really wished had been in the ZF3.

I miss the ability to pop it out on the train etc and have a decent sized screen, plus Dex when I get to work.

it seemed linus was going to take a selfie then he saw the crease looked bad and quickly moved the angle away. The concept of a phone that turns to a tablet sounds great but i dont think the tech is ready yet and almost 2k for this just not worth it imo

Yeah, it’s your opinion. But millions say otherwise. Obviously, the cost is what funds the technology going forward... people seem to miss that part.

Fold users are getting something refreshing instead of the traditional slab phone... I understand it might not be for you and that’s okay.

I just think the crease is a non-issue and most people that use the phone daily will tell you that and it's not because they're trying to justify the phone it's because really it's a non-issue That's my opinion anyway..
I don‘t know… is it a non-issue? That’s a tough pill to swallow. Because it is indeed an issue that Samsung needs to address going forward. It’s a topic that reviewers will continue to present to the audience because it is an issue… but it all depends on the individual of how big of an issue it can be.

And that’s why I made the comment… it might not be for them. Because that’s the nature of the technology thus far… majority will complain about the crease. But the way I view it as… it’s not a huge issue that devalues my experience with using the larger screen.

Well I think it's going to improve definitely going forward but when I say non-issue I see so many posts by people that are either looking to buy the phone or haven't used the phone or haven't owned the phone and the first thing that comes up is hey I saw that crease man on the screen it looks horrible.. but the point I'm trying to make is every person that uses the phone pretty much has no issues with it when daily driving it.. I mean any phone can use improvement..

What issue ? it does not interfere with any operation or functionality :)

If you are referring to aesthetics and visual appearance then obviously no crease is better, but I do not see that as an issue.

Its not like a notch that actually took up screen area for example and some loved it and some hated it, so that would be potentially 2 issues for some, using the same metrics :D

User preference yes, but issue is a bit of a stretch IMO

This x 100.

I've had every Fold and I've never once thought, "man this crease is in the way and ruining the experience". When watching media, I never notice it. Same with working all day with construction drawing pdfs, emails, excel, sending messages, taking pictures, looking at pictures, playing games (COD mobile mostly). It's just not an issue for me and likely isn't for the large majority of users. The only time I ever notice it is in my office under a flourescent light or really if any source of light hits it at an angle and I'm not looking at it straight on. I do think Samsung will get it to a point of having a less pronounced crease but I'm not sure it would ever be possible to be completely eliminated and I'm fine with that.

My wish list for the Fold line is:
Camera on par with the Ultra line
Slightly wider front display (although the ZF4 is a noticeable improvement)
Higher battery capacity
Can the silly under display camera on the inside screen. I'll take the punch hole for a higher quality camera
Silo for S Pen although I realize that's probably not possible
