Completely understand. However, I couldn’t wait to open up mine lol… but did you order the screen protector at the same time as the Fold 4? And did they give you the same delivery date?

For some reason the free case that was ordered with my Fold 4 had a delivery date different from the phone. But still both arrived in the same box. Never used the case… ordered the case primarily for the S-Pen.
Phone ordered from carrier (O2) and the screen protector was ordered direct from Samsung. The free Note pack (S-Pen, case & charger) and ear buds have to be redeemed by visiting the Samsung website and filling out some details. I expect they'll take some weeks to arrive...

Which as advised by FCC this is a meaningless and out of context, its safe period and any comparisons to others is irrelevant, not sure why you are not understanding this
All phones are tested using the same methods so why are comparisons irrelevant? The phone has a high SAR rating. Period.

It may well be deemed 'safe' but it is perhaps less safe than some others on the market. No need to debate it. I own the device yet we need not be fanbois and suggest that it has zero negatives. I would prefer a lower SAR rating but I still bought the phone and I still like it.

I'm getting very decent battery life. Certainly no worse than any brand new Android phone previously.
What are your first impression thus far?

Haven’t used the S-Pen since my Note days… lately been trying to incorporate it daily. Decided not go for the SPen Pro… I believe the SPen Fold Edition is good enough.

First impressions.:

Nice build quality.
The device is a lot smaller and feels lighter than I expected
Really good signal/reception and fast download speeds.
Small front display, however I have got used to it...until I pick up my old phone.
No lag, stutter or freezing.
Fluid scrolling.
Nice speakers once I had tamed the harsh treble using the 'custom' preset in the graphic equaliser.

I haven't got the Note pack yet so haven't tried the S-Pen.

Why you arguing with me it's the FC guidelines and they state this for you I have given you the link I have pasted exerts for you to understand.

"Consequently, cell phones cannot be reliably compared for their overall exposure characteristics on the basis of a single SAR value for several reasons"

You simply cannot draw any conclusion if one phone has a higher SAR than another

This is nothing about being pro Folds and I take exception if you are implying anything to the contrary.

It is the best independent/government advice you can get, not some random assumptions you seem to be making or implying by looking at 2 numbers, that you are expressly advised not to do.

I honestly do not know why you do not understand this, I give up, enjoy your F4 :)

This. I came from the Fold 2 and I could immediately tell the difference.. my fingers cross that this design develops into Oppo Find N copycat. But then again, I’m not sure how Fold users will respond to landscape when its first unfolded because that’s the approach Oppo Find N went with.

I believe that’s the best way we could get a wider display… that provides a one-handed experience because the current Fold implementation has a long and narrow screen. I like to think I have above average size hands and reaching the top part of the cover display takes readjusting my hand. Although, if I had my guess… most Fold users won’t like unfolding and viewing it in landscape compared to portrait.

I read this thread with great interest and am really tempted to get a Fold 4 and switch back to Android. I had the Note 4, 5, 8, and 10+ before switching to an iPhone 12 Pro Max (my first iPhone). The 12 series iPhones were really not good and I had overheating/dimming issues and atrocious battery degradation (down to 83% battery health after 15 months).

I ditched the 12PM and downsized to a 13 Pro earlier this year. The battery life was so bad on the 12PM that the smaller 13 Pro is getting an hour longer SOT than the 12PM. Nothing really wrong with the 13 Pro but I'm getting bored with it and miss multi-window, DeX, and the precision of a stylus. The iMessage thing was never a pain point for me when I had all those Note phones and it would be so easy to switch platforms again, except that I really like my darn Apple Watch 7 LOL. I had previous LTE S Gear 1/2 watches years ago and the distance tracking was wildly inaccurate, to the point that I switched to a Garmin. The Apple Watch gives me the best of both worlds, LTE plus accurate activity/distance tracking. I am a little apprehensive going back to a Samsung smartwatch and can't believe that's my biggest concern about switching back to an Android phone.

The cameras on the S22 Ultra are really impressive and I take lots of photos (easily over a thousand photos during family vacations), but the S22 Ultra feels too much like my old 10+. Camera reviews on the Fold 4 seem very good against the S22 Ultra and even iPhone 13 Pro, according to MaxTech. I wish the Fold 4 had a silo for the stylus as getting a case really inflates how thick the device already is. I will have to check out the Fold 4 in-store as the Fold 3 still felt too clunky for me to adopt.

One of the reasons I got rid of the Note 10+ was the battery couldn't get me through a full day anymore (same issue on iPhone 12 Pro Max). From the moment I wake up until I go to bed, my iPhone 13 Pro averages 7 hours of SOT with maybe 10-15% battery left. What are Z Fold 4 owners seeing in terms of average SOT?

It's all subjective. I can get over 10 hours of SOT browsing the web, making calls and watching YouTube videos. I managed 6 hours of SOT on my first day and that was with maximum fiddling about; downloading apps, transferring files and tweaking settings.

Having said that I got similar out of my Note 10 Plus when it was brand new. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is the outstanding battery warrior if that's your no.1 concern.

I missed something off the 'first impressions' list...
The fingerprint sensor is too low for me. My thumb doesn't instinctively go to it and I have to do a bit of hunting.

This practically sums up of why I moved away from the iPhone to Android/Galaxy Fold.

I never tried the S Gear watches… I jumped on board for the Samsung and Google partnership with the Galaxy Watch 4, it’s been a solid experience. Then there’s the upcoming release of the Pixel Watch along with upcoming WearOS watches from other manufactures.

I know how great the Apple Watch is… but Google is getting more serious about the smartwatch platform.

Tbh, if you felt the Fold 3 was too clunky… the Fold 4 is no better due to the nature of the device.

Does anyone know how to remove the 3 annoying floating.buttons from YouTube? They don't appear on my old phone or tablet so it must be something to do with the Z Fold 4 and I have no idea what!

That’s a Samsung browser thing if I remember correctly. Look in the browser settings for “video assistant” and turn it off.

Well i sold my Tab S8 yesterday just don't need it now i have the Fold 4, this will be the first time in a long time I actually don't own a stand alone tablet & I've had a good few over the years be it an iPad or Samsung Tab S Series.

I've still got my Tab S7 because it has a great screen and speakers, the perfect device for watching TV and films. I find it too uncomfortable/heavy for long web browsing sessions though and the Z Fold 4 is brilliant for that.

If the Z Fold series get a little larger then I definitely see them as being outright tablet replacements. Having said all that I have watched many films on my phones over the years and tablets are in no way essential. I could absolutely live with just my Z Fold 4 and happily too.

How's everyone HomeScreen setup? With the larger canvas could lead to more experimentation or perhaps keep it basic?

Does anyone find the swipe left to go back feature a bit laboured sometimes? On my Tab S7 it's precise and consistent but the Fold 4 sometimes works and sometimes needs a bit of persuasion. Mainly front screen.

Have you tried One Hand Operation+? It could help with consistency...
