Is there a particular best place on the screen to swipe back? I find myself doing it inadvertently whilst scrolling through the gallery etc and yet inconsistently when I actually want to do it.

Edited to add:
It seems to be a thing.

Yet my Tab S7 which I haven't updated from Android 10 performs the gestures flawlessly.🤨

My old Note 10 Plus which I left on Android 9 had the gestures where you swiped up from the bottom of the screen (left or right depending on your settings) to go back and it performed perfectly. There's just something about the front screen of the Z Fold 4 and gesturing to go back which isn't consistent enough.

Again, I ask you. Have you tried using One Hand Operation+? I have it installed to help triggering the swipe back gesture. I've been using it for years and it works flawlessly.

Ah sorry, no. I thought you meant have I tried using it one-handed. Will take a look....

I must say though that I haven't had a problem on previous devices. It must be the smaller size of the front screen, less real estate to make the distinction between me swiping left and wanting to go back.

Does anyone else have any issues wiping the cache partition? When I boot up holding the power and volume up buttons simultaneously my phone just boots to the homepage as usual.

Edited to add:

I had to insert a USB cable and join the phone to my tablet to make the menu appear (as per web research)! How very odd. Never had to insert a cable to wipe the cache partition before.

I decided last night to trade-in my 13 Pro for a Z Fold 4 (but haven't taken action yet)! I obviously missed out on the pre-order deals but BestBuy is offering $300 off the Fold 4 plus $1000 on Verizon trade-in. If I were to go with the BestBuy deal and buy a Watch 5 Pro and Buds Pro separately it would still be cheaper than Samsung's current bundle deal, mainly because Samsung is only offering $595 trade-in value on the 13 Pro. Please share if you know of better deals or offers.

I am definitely getting a Watch 5 Pro and will reluctantly try to sell my Apple Watch 7 LTE. I don't necessarily need Buds Pro as I've read my Air Pods Pro should still work and pair over Bluetooth with Android. I haven't been this excited for a new phone in a long while! Now to find a suitable case as I dislike the Samsung standing cover case -- forces you to choose between kickstand or stylus holder, and then won't lie flat for writing or drawing.

I have the Shieldon leather wallet case coming. I hate the plastic looking cases and I (also) want protection for the front screen & hinge.

Um.. my suggestion is to with Best Buy or some carrier. It only benefits going with Samsung if you have a Samsung phone.

You could also look into the Pixel Watch… that’s on my radar.

Yeah, I know that feeling…. I felt the same way with the Fold 2 (couldn’t put the phone down when I unboxed it lol). I didn’t bother turning it on... mostly interested in the engineering that went into the hinge. But I prefer to go case-less because the Fold is already bulky enough, but that’s me.

I looked up the Pixel Watch but it just isn’t my style. A little too soft/feminine in its design (for me).

I am tempted to go caseless but want a kickstand and slot for S pen.

How is everyone finding their Fold 4 microphones? I find that I cover the lower one with my pinky whilst recording Whatsapp messages but my main concern is the video mic. I am capturing no sound whatsoever when recording video. Any ideas?

Well, for me. When I’m recording video… I tend to do it folded whereas my fingers are nowhere near the bottom or top areas of the phone.

Folded here too. Hands and fingers nowhere near the top of the phone and yet zero audio when I record video. Am I looking at a hardware fault or is there possibly some setting somewhere...

So happy!! Decided to go through Verizon as they had promo discounts on both the Watch 5 Pro and Buds2 Pro that made the cost equivalent to BestBuy. Verizon also had the Beige 512, whereas BestBuy did not. Goodbye 13 Pro.

Curious what kind of deal they had?

$1000 trade-in is pretty typical but Verizon is also giving $150 off Watch 5 Pro and 50% off Buds2 Pro. Verizon $1275 savings versus BestBuy's $1300, but Verizon had the color and storage capacity I wanted and BestBuy did not. In my case, the Verizon store happens to be in the same shopping center as the BestBuy.

Went for a short walk around the neighborhood with both the Watch 5 Pro LTE and my Apple Watch 7 LTE.

Apple reported 1.88 miles distance and Samsung reported 1.9 miles. Both watches recorded 88 bpm average. Psychologically, I perceive the Apple Watch as the benchmark and the Samsung Watch 5 Pro comes close enough for me. Samsung watch is much quicker to detect when I’ve stopped to wait for a car to pass whereas the Apple Watch keeps on recording as if I’m still moving.

Although the Watch 5 Pro appears much bulkier than the Apple Watch, the W5P felt more comfortable on my wrist. The AW7 always felt comfortable too before but the W5P surprisingly settles on the wrist better and spreads the weight evenly. The D-band lock mechanism also provides a nice secure adjustable fit. I thought I would hate it compared to the stretchy and convenient Apple woven band but the W5P really surprised me with how comfortable it was. If anything the A5P made me notice that the AW7 was digging into my right wrist throughout the walk (normally I wear the AW7 on my left wrist though so not an entirely fair comparison). Basically I was pleasantly surprised by how good the W5P is compared to not only past Gear S watches but also the Apple Watch.

You also need to factor its $69 for a battery and over $400 for repair/service and more on an AW Ultra.

The AW Ultra looks hideous to me, as if Hasbro designed it. A lot of bulk for minimal extra display. I know it’s heavier-duty but just not my thing.

This is my band collection… the lock mechanism can be annoying compared to on the Apple Watch. Changing bands were a struggle in the beginning, but I’ve grown accustomed to it now… I am looking to add that new Magnetic D Buckle Sport Band from Samsung to my collection though.

Went on a walk last night and tested the automatic tracking on the Watch 5 Pro. Actually, I plain forgot to start tracking. Fortunately the W5P detected the walk automatically, and recorded the same 1.7 miles as past routes with the Apple Watch 7.

Case and S Pen fold edition arrived today. Case included a tempered glass screen protector. Altogether the Z Fold 4 tips the scale at 11.85 ounces, a full 2.3 ounces (or 25%) heavier than my past 12 Pro Max with screen protector and case (9.55 ounces).

This particular case has a kickstand and slots the S Pen on the right edge of the front screen. It lays nice and flat when opened so I can write without any rocking. Ironically I downsized from a 12PM to a 13 Pro because of weight, but I'm more accepting of the Z Fold 4's total heft due to its versatility. Also, while heavier in folded state, the unfolded state spreads the weight around and it doesn't feel as heavy as the 12PM always did.

I almost went with the Torras slim S Pen case but it costs twice as much, lacks a kickstand, and no front screen protection. The VRS so far is a nice all-around case at a somewhat reasonable price. Only demerit I can see so far is the kickstand doesn't prop the phone up in portrait mode, seems to only work for landscape (either open or folded). The S Pen slot also is a little tight and makes it a challenge to remove the pen but I'm hoping that loosens up a smidgen over time.

Per an Amazon review
All in all there is nothing wrong with the case.
It is simple to get on the phone and apply the screen protection.

The slot for the SPen is a bit Inconvenient and makes it a bit difficult to get to the side buttons.
Do you have an issue accessing the side buttons?

I saw that too before I bought it and was slightly concerned. Probably depends on your thumb size or width.

I used the fingerprint sensor about 20 times so far with the case on and it's not something that registers as a problem for me. The tight S Pen is more noticeable than access to the fingerprint sensor. If I pay attention to it sometimes my thumb will lift the front half a mm or two while pressing the fingerprint sensor and sometimes the edge of my thumb unlocks the phone without causing any lift of the front cover. Basically it's a non-issue for me and I reach for the fingerprint sensor as I normally would without having to make any conscious adjustments.

I am going to see if I can add Magsafe magnet on the back so I can use the phone holder in my car. Just piling on the weight, lol.

The Watch 5 Pro errors when trying to mirror the Z Fold 4's camera. Anyone else experience this and know the fix?
