Whilst it's not worth doing a full write up on the Fold 5 as the only real significant change externally is the slimming down by now removing the gap :)

However when you couple this with the new slim SPen and case the girth is noticeable smaller.

The new pen somehow seems more precise to touch but probably more psychological than actual

Too early to say about endurance or performance but it will obviously be better

BTW The dual sim tray is different to the F4, The F4 was double sided but the F5 is a long tray like the older models and note series. I suspect some will ask why it could not of been an SD card and 1 Sim

Smartswitch has continued to improve IMO and even the sidebars were populated

My Watch 6 Classic 47mm is big over my Watch4 Classic and I am enjoying its use as its noticeably possible to see without my glasses. The bezel rotation is less notchy not sure if that's good or bad

There were some noticeable minor tweaks and changes during the setup of both Fold and watch, all minor stuff but I simply noted had not seen or been asked that before

Will drop some pics later

I'm contemplating going in on Flip 5 512GB for a nice backup ...I can get it for $230ish with trade in of Flip 3 which I don't have ...checking the used market for non cracked phone in good condition around 260ish to 290ish...plus Rakuten brings me around $510-$520

Whoa, Samsung keyboard has come a loooong way since I last used it. I actually prefer it on this phone vs GBoard.

And, the key press sound is actually quiet on the Samsung keyboard whereas with GBoard it's too loud and altering the sound doesn't change anything which is really annoying.

I’m half tempted to go all naked with no case as it feels premium. May even get rid of the flex screen glass protector.

Am I thinking straight? What is the long term durability of these flip phones, this is my first flip.

One thing that’s already concerning me is this device seems to be a link magnet!

The Flip 5 people. Will you be using cases and screen protectors on the flex screen? My early post got lost I think. No responses.
I ordered Samsung flex screen protector with my flip5 preorder. No brainer - Gorilla glass is prone to microscratches. Less breakable = more scratch-prone with all these devices. I have owned Flip 3 and 4 and they are durable little phones but I put mine in slim case to maintain pristine condition.

Yeah I have a tempered glass protector over the outside display and I hate it.
I also bought a clear case to snap on, also hate it.
I think naked or NUT’IN.

Planning on purchasing the GF5 at my local BestBuy on Friday. Have an eSIM in my iPhone. Want to use a physical SIM with the GF5. Is this something a BB employee will be able to handle with ease?

I don't see why they couldn't do that for you.

I don't believe so. It might need to be a carrier employee as they need to convert your eSIM number to physical SIM. if your number was already a physical SIM going to eSIM, BB employee would easily be able to assist.

I'm really enjoying this Flip 5. I'm shocked at how much I actually like it.
The Samsung keyboard is so good. I remember trying to use it a few years back and hating it but thought I'd give it another shot and I can't believe how much better it is.

Also, the camera on this thing is decent! It's still doing its usual vibrant to the max look but I'm impressed with the photos I've taken so far. Here's some...

She had just come back from a big walk and had to go straight in the bath, hence wearing her dressing gown :p.

And this was a 4x zoom shot indoors...

Who'd have thought I'd be impressed with a Samsung camera?!

I think the best combination of case and screen protector would be the Samsung flipsuit case, and Samsung's film screen protector. The case is slim and clear, and barely adds bulk while the film screen protector will give you protection from micro scratches without the thick folder shaped glass screen protectors out there. The nice thing about the Samsung screen protector is that it goes beyond the folder shape of the cover screen. No thick ridges to run your fingers across as you swipe on the cover screen. This goes perfectly with the flipsuit case, that also doesn't have the folder shape front like all the third party cases.
I've ordered the film screen protector, and will also order the flipsuit case for the odd time I feel like using a case. Should've done it during pre-order, would've got a 40% discount. Oh well.

Went in a Best Buy to check out the Flip 5. Fold 5 was next to it but though the screen is nice , I just don't want to carry that thing around lol. Messed with it for 30 seconds, and decided no.

Now the flip 5, I like it. I like Motorola's bigger front screen but the Samsung was nice. Only thing i didnt check on was,.....do you always have to use the back button or can you put it in swipe back mode like on the Pixels?

The Flip 5 finally had a hinge issue at 223k of some sort but appears to still be going strong at 244k now.

Well that's the proper way to open it but others like Flossy like to whip it open lol. That will
put more strain on the hinges. Unbelievable that guy is doing a live video of doing this lol. Good for him but geez man.
