The battery life on my Z Flip 5 is really good. Easily lasts longer than my 7 Pro.

One thing I don't like about Samsungs is there's SO many notifications i can't turn off. I get loads about "device care" and when I try to turn them off, I can't. Annoying.

Another weird trait, my Pixel when I tap and hold a notification and click 'turn off' it let's me decide which specific notifications to turn off from the app. Whereas with Samsung it just turns all of them off.

Those niggles aside, very much enjoying using the phone!

Not sure of this is what you mean, but if you tap and hold the notification in the notification panel, you get 3 options....

Then from there, choose settings, and then you have multiple options on how to set that notification.

So as you may or may not know earlier in the week I got the Z Flip5 with Samsung Care+ and 47mm Watch6 Classic for £1022 in total here in the UK.

Amazing price however I sent them back yesterday.

Main reason - the camera wasn’t as good as I hoped. Yes I understand the form factor doesn’t allow bigger lenses etc but I felt it was almost criminal Samsung didn’t do any meaningful camera upgrades especially on the hardware side. They rely solely on the benefits of the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU which I feel is not enough after testing.

So will keep the iPhone 14 Pro until the iPhone 15 Pro Max drops.

Oh well. Build quality of both Flip5 and Watch6 were amazing though. Very premium.

You can turn the notifications off within the individual apps settings. You can also turn tips and device care notifications off.
Yeah but it means going in to every single one. I just find the stock way much easier to manage as it tells yiy exactly what option the notification relates to so you can just slap it off. Its a minor niggle, but frustrating that it's not the same across all Android devices.

Is anyone using the Zfold on Visible?

Edit: the fold5 isn't compatible with Visible not sure what I should do. Either return the phone or switch carriers.
Why don't you try Mint Mobile.. you set up esim really quickly right through the app and test drive it if you don't like it they'll give you a full refund I think in 7 days or something...

I downloaded the app and the only option it gave me was to mail me a trial sim

So tempted to try the flip 5. Someone I know is selling unopened unlocked for $725.
Aaaand purchased. My self control is non-existent. I went with a blue one for $720 BNIB shipped. The guy i know is selling 2 more if anyone is interested. He has black and mint left.

Do I need a screen protector or case for this thing? Not sure if any screen protectors are included or if any non bulky cases exist.

Nice ... I would probably just put a screen protector on the outside one to avoid micro scratches and the inside should already have the factory... When I was running with the flip I went without a case..

I wonder if it's because the phone technically isn't out yet
Did you try to call them ? It's possible though...did you try asking for a physical sim from Visible? Or is it definitely not working either way for them..

I haven’t tried the physical sim yet. I did check the compatibility of both IMEIs and I got the same error.

I think the screen protecter of the Flip 5 causes a blurred 3D effect when viewing from polarized sunglasses. I tried two with the same results.

I also have one non-polarized sunglasses and can see the display just fine.

My flip 5 works on Google Fi no problem. Also the watch 6 classic also works on Google Fi. Both esim activated with no issues.

I was seriously thinking of doing this because I also pre-ordered the 6 classic and Visible won't support that either LOL.

The pre-order also said I would get 4 free months of YouTube premium but that is also not working ugh.
