Haha! I love it, but damn, hope I never lose it in such a stupid manner.

Who's dropping their Note8 for the Pixel XL 2 then, out with it you traitors!

I am so satisfied with this device, but it's great to see competition bringing out the big guns! 1st I was LG with the V30, now it's Google. Bring on Huawei Mate10, exciting times in Android Land

I need a screen protector asap for traveling. What is the best option to get at the last second? I am thinking Best Buy, Target, Walmart, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc. I just see Zagg's tempered glass one and the reviews are putrid. Should I just go Zagg HD?

Yeah, the tgsp is pretty horrid, 80% chance you'll lose sensitivity, and it has the horrid dot matrix. The pet one is better but feels worse.

I want the Whitestone Dom glass protector, seems the best that I've seen.
It's not cheap though.

Really not much reason to switch. Note 8 has a better physical design, same processor, more ram, better screen, more features. Oh, and the S-Pen, losing the S-pen would be a massive downgrade.

I use the iq shield. It' easy to install and doesn' degrade the display like some of the way install protectors do.

Agreed. Really, the big argument pro Pixel is the software and updates.

Very true!

I love what the Pixel devices do to Android though, they are making it move forward.

I love how every OEM is going the way of LG and Samsung with 18:9 screen ratios, now Google has solidified that move with the new Pixels, tons of content is going to be tailored if not already to that resolution. :)

Wow... so is this a user install, or you have to get them to do it? Do they send all that equipment with it for installation?

How much did the memory card cost you?

Also how do you set it so when you download things it goes to the memory card and not the phone? Or is it automatic?
There are a few apps such as Audible that will allow you to switch the download path to the card but most apps will download to the phones own storage and then you would have to move the files to the SD card.

You do it yourself.
I haven't tried one, but the video looks simple enough and you get two goes at doing it.
You get all the equipment, hence the price I guess :)

I would read some of the reviews on Amazon. The first one on the list I read was very insightful. The guy said he does phone repairs... screens, batteries, etc.. and he had a very difficult time with the install. They include two batches of glue, but only one screen. I don't think you can reuse the screen easily once the glue is all over it and the install gets hosed up, based on his account. He did offer tips to help. I think I'm going to skip the screen protector as I've not used once since the Pocket PC stylus days. Those screens scratched very easily.

I'm quite careful with my phone's, I didn't use a protector on my S7 edge and it doesn't have any marks on it.
Ironically, it did get ruined by the Samsung clear cover but was replaced under warranty.
Don't hold me to it, but you should be okay if you're careful.
I might try one, if I do, I'll try and remember to give you a heads up :)

I’ve got one of Samsung’s clear view covers for my note 8 maybe I should take it off after hearing this.

Not to be an alarmist, but I would until you find out whether anyone else has suffered the same fate.
Most of the scratches we're on both the edges along the entire length. They weren't tiny either, big chunky scratches, almost gauges.
I couldn't believe it, seemed so unreal, how could a plastic cover for this?
I've used the LED cover with no issues at all, so I can't imagine it's from pocket debris.

Luckily Samsung didn't bat an eyelid, gave me a two week repair window so I purchased a Meizu M3s to use in the interim, but the phone was back within a few days, looking new.

So I'd definitely steer clear of this case but they may have it sorted. You'd hope so.

Just wanted some opinions. Which is the better option? Get a Note 8 and keep my 7 Plus or get an iPhone X and trade in my 7 Plus? I am getting 60% of the value of the iPhone X in tradein next year while the Note 8 is $200 cheaper from the get go.
