Well I got my note 8 on a contract with Vodafone where I get 32gb data a month and 2 years Spotify (I was paying £10 a month for this) for £49.50 a month!
It's expensive but that was the best deal I could find when I compared all the networks.....

What package is that? Don't see it on Voda website, it's much more than that. £50 a month with that thrown in is pretty keen .. how does early upgrade work? 12 months and commit to new 24 month contract?

Hey sorry

I forgot to add that I got 25% off because basically I phoned and asked for my PAC code to move to another network, then the guy on the phone just offered me that price and I accepted!

With most Vodafone contracts now....after 6 months you can buy out the rest of your contract by just paying pff the phone price or trading in your phone, similar to 02's refresh plan....

Even though I pay £50 a month I feel lucky to get that deal tbh because everywhere else for the Note 8 on contract is like £60 a month,,,especially if you want the 32gb data that I need.

Nice one! Another benefit of non-Apple devices, you can actually get a deal!

Enjoy :)

Anyone else annoyed by this sort of thing?

I am on the same update.

I wonder how we all lived before the days of monthly security updates.

Insecure but ignorant of all the issues. But that was then. Android used to have a rep for never getting updates. We should demand better.

I’ve the same security patch. I’ve not had any updates since I activated the phone.

Note8 continues to own the iPhones, this time the X, that RAM upgrade cannot come soon enough for iPhone, dropped a large portion of the apps:
I do think the X needed an extra GB of ram. I remember when the Plus first came out with 1GB of ram. The regular 6 was fine but the 6 plus struggled because of the extra pixels it had to push. I think the same thing might be true of the X. Plus with the true depth camera. It probably needs and extra GB of ram.

Darn :( There's a definite room for improvement for Samsung. For after all, at least September patches should've been fast-tracked as they contain the BlueBorne fix.
Areed....I think the S8 has more current security patches than the Note 8. They are already beta testing Oreo. The N8 must be next in line after them.

I wish that was the case for my S8+! It's probably because I'm on US Cellular. It doesn't matter to me if I'm on the latest patch, but June!

At the same time, not to sound like an Apple apologist, but those "speed tests" are incredibly unnatural because you're putting on fast loads and sizable loads at that. Real world experience matters more because a lot of people will just use basic apps.

Which basic apps exactly? I know a lot of people who aren't heavy users but they differ largely in terms of apps they use, from Netflix, Apple Music to Video and Image Editors etc etc...

So who are these most people and what these basic apps they use?

I always read of people talking about "average users", and I ask myself, in 2017, what does an average user do exactly??? I work with people who you could call"average users" as they don't really care about the latest phones, they just want a phone that does calls and emails, but when looking at their phones one of them is an avid fisherman and so he has all kinds of apps for that, while the mothers have all kinds of games and educational apps for their kids.

Each time I see different people's phones I see different apps for all kinds of things. It seems to me very few truly stick to what they get.

So exactly what is an average user? And can one guarantee they use Call, Email and text only???

I would agree when speaking about those type of tests. But the test that Tsepz posted was more of an one by one, app vs app test. So IMO it was pretty accurate in the depiction of real life usage.
