So yea, there is an obvious improvement on battery life with Oreo.

On screen time improved a decent margin of around 30min more from my usual experience. This is from 100% to 5%, with manual brightness set right before the red marker, and highest resolution.

Stand-by life is much improved and the percentage(reading from AOD info) doesn't drop a percent for hours. At this very moment my phone has been on 72% for around 4 hours and just hit 71%, and that's with AOD on. On Nougat, AOD would cause a 1% to 3% drop every 2 hours.

I never tested Nougat or Oreo stand-by without AOD on.

Don't know if it's Oreo, SE 9.0, or both, to give credit.

Still loving this beast! It never let's me down no matter how much crap I am running :D

I really need to clear up all the junk I have let collect inside of it, there are endless movies, TV shows, apps, games etc... I have collected that I have already watches or tried and never deleted, lol.

Any Note8 users still around or all of y'all already jumped to the S9+?

I’m sticking with my Note 8 until Note 9 release. I could easily stay with it another year if Note 9 doesn’t blow me away. It is such a great phone. No lag or problems for me in 6+ months of sole, daily use.

I feel exactly the same :)

I'm intrigued by the S9 but I'm a Note kind of guy.
The last S series I had was the S7 edge due to the Note 7 debacle.

I'm only upgrading to the S9+ cause I'm on T-mobile JOD. I'll miss the S-pen though. Just today I took six screen off notes. These were fast paced situations I was in, so it really helped out. The Note 9 will be amazing.

I upgraded on JOD with TMO as well to the S9+. But I have nothing but nice things to say about the Note 8...except that dang FPS. That was the biggest reason to jump to the S9+....better placed FPS.

That's good to hear. I might head to the T-mobile store tomorrow to trade my Note 8 in.

I don't have a problem using the fps on the Note 8 other than having to "think" about it beach time but I'll enjoy using a central fps more as I do notice my index fingers naturally fall in that area.
I can see how it might annoy some people.

Honestly, I've been disappointed with my Note 8. Since I've gotten the phone at launch, I've mostly used my Essential Phone and S8 Active as my Android phones while the Note 8 has mostly sat in the drawer. I've taken it out a couple of times, but can only stand using it for a day before wanting to switch with one of the other 2.

Very disappointed as I've generally been a big fan of the Note series, I loved the Notes 4,5, and 7. I think it's a combination of the new spen, design, and curved edges. That super tall body with the curved edges just feels awkward, and I don't like how thin they made the tip of the new spen. Hopefully this year they'll get rid of the top and bottom bezels and improve the spen. I've given up hope on the curved edges, but maybe I get lucky and they release a Note 9 Active.

Rather sell it.

I am looking to get back onto the Note 8 because it has the specs I want. Had a bad experience buying a Pixel 2 off eBay. Gotta wait for the Note 8 or S9+ once they're in my budget range. Though a Pixel 3 is what I really want and maybe something can be made whole so I can keep my Pixel 2 until October.

I was sold a refurbished unit that was supposed to be "new other" on eBay (or at least it was packaged to be a refurb). Didn't include a 24 month warranty like promised. It was missing a 3.5 mm headphone jack to USB Type C cable that was supposed to be included. I was sent a LG charger instead of the Google Pixel 2 18W charger that comes standard with the device. The listing included missing parts and misleading info.

I rather just move on from this particular unit. Rather than get a S9+, I may look for the Note 8 again.

The Note 8 is currently £635 on Amazon UK.

Pretty good price, cheaper than a Pixel 2 XL.

I'm half tempted? That S-Pen I imagine is really cool for doodling and colouring stuff in haha.
Dat Maple Gold too.

It's a big ol' phone, but seems grippable due to not being wide.
What is wrong with me?!!
