The S-pen on the Note 7 was waterproof as well.
Oh, cool. Maybe I misheard. The official video made it sound like the S-pen being waterproof was new.

One last thing is I'm not entirely sure that Samsung isn't the worst, do other vendors truly take 8+ months to release new Android OS'? I'm genuinely curious as I really only have experience with Samsung in owning an Android phone long term.

Hmm at £869 it's one expensive phone, however it could prove to be an absolute bargain if the iPhone 8 is a grand or more Plus!!!
It looks nice, but for me it's a luxury consumer device now. Still can't wait to see the cameras capabilities! Shame it lacks stereo speakers? Unless I'm missing something?
I'm hoping the S9 will get redesigned a bit to include the dual cameras, better FPS location, and stereo speakers.
This might be the answer to your problems. And Samsung is included as one of the manufacturers.

Yea, that confused me too at first. I guess they recycled that feature as being new, since the battery became an issue before most could even purchase.
Project Treble, coming to a Galaxy Note 8/S8/S8+ near you, in April 2018! By that time, several here would be talking up the S9 and want to move to that.
Show me on the doll where Samsung touched you.

Anybody on the s8 upgrading? You think there's much of a difference?
I don't imagine the new iPhone wouldn't have them when the 7/7 plus has dualYeah I think they missed a trick this year, great designs but those HDR screens are crying out for stereo speakers. Then again we have no idea if Apple will squeeze them into the new iPhone either..

Saw 6.3" announced today. Too big for me as always. I have yet to own a Note.whats the bet
6.5 inches?
Yes and as others have said Samsung's OS is years ahead in terms of features. Then the Android core apps get released/updated through the playstore so that point is moot as well. Then with monthly security updates....what are people missing?
Last year it did. I'm planning on pre-ordering on Friday so I I hope they don't sell out before then.I have never actually preordered the note series but how are they with the preorders? Does shipping time ever start to slip?

Speakers. It would be a step back. Anyway as much as I appreciate the speakers on the 7 plus I can forgive Samsung on this occasion.

Not in the UK, especially after brexit. No, the iPhone doesn’t always cost more. The last few gens of Samsungs costed more than the iPhone spec vs spec.

I wonder if they used the exact same S-pen as the Note 7. Cause I still have two S-pens from returning the Note 7 twice.
Dual camera is looking sweet.
The new S-pen is waterproof, so maybe not?

Where did you see the Note 7 owners can get $425 off? Is that for all people that owner a Note 7? What am I missing? Not sure what to do here. Not really interested because of the larger, taller display and fingerprint reader placement, but as a Note 7 owner I can get $425 off. That's almost too good a deal to pass up.
Those who purchase the Galaxy Note 7 in the United States will be able to trade-in their existing device for a value of up to $425 which can be put towards the purchase of a Galaxy Note 8. Samsung is going to reveal more details about this promotion on its website once pre-orders go live tomorrow. It’s going to release the Galaxy Note 8 globally on September 15.
