Thanks! I think I’m in the beta but I’ve not used an Android in a few months. Is it an option you have to enable? When I get home I’ll fire up my S6 and check it out.
Once you download the APK and install the app plug-in, the option pops up in the Nova settings

Why would Samsung not even include it? Didn't T-Mobile show how 600 MHz worked on it months ago?

I'm not sure but it was Qualcomm that made the blanket statement about none of the current or recent devices would be capable.

My guess? Qualcomm hadn't finished a chip or it was not widely available and Samsung in their rush to hit before the iPhone (Which they knew the importance of this particular year) hit the market.

It's so ironic that LG got it first lol. I doubt the iPhone 8 will support 600 MHz because of the Intel modem being behind.

That Intel modem is the main reason why my device this year probably won't be an iPhone. I got the most expensive 7 Plus with 256GB without reading up like an idiot. I felt annoyed.

First the Samsung vs TSMC battery life issues with the 6s. Then the battery recall on the 6s (Which I had a device under). Now my shiny beautiful black 7 Plus can't be used on a road trip between two fairly decent sized cities and my 6s can.

It's aggravating. I'm going to hold out until I read, like really investigate, the device I'm buying this year.

Off topic, but is the iPhone 8 supposed to have 600mhz? I've long wanted to switch to Tmobile, but their reception indoors at my hospital is zero, as soon as you step outside it's 5 bars.

Surprised to see a Note 8 on display in John Lewis this morning, so naturally played around with it for quite a bit.

Definitely cemented my want to get this over the S8+, it feels so good in the hand (though it was tethered to the desk so couldn't fully feel the weight). The edge screen isn't really noticeable and way less 'edgy' than my S7 Edge too which I'm glad about. Like on my Edge if one handed I reach across to hit the '1' or 'a' on the keyboard I always press the other side with my palms, that didn't seem to happen on the Note 8.

Can't wait.

I was debating which to get out of the two
Are you buying the note 8 outright?

It depends on if you want the S-pen and the dual camera. The screen is also improved from the S8+ according to display mate but it's debatable if one would be able to notice the difference. The note 8 has 6GB of ram. According to the early hands on this improves the performance of DeX.

If you don't want these features then the note 8 isn't better than the S8+.

Fed ex label created. Delivery is showing as this Tuesday. If this isn't an error, BRAVO Samsung. Can't imagine a better "make good" to Note 7 people than than to get this device into preorder hands over a week before release date. That's pretty cool.

Yeah I will buy it outright on a 0% card I have and pay it off over a few months. Easier than faffing with contracts and/or financing through Samsung Upgrade Program since I want to keep this one a while.

It's about £150 more expensive than an S8+ here but the extra ram, spen and camera are nice for me. Also love the screen, soooo big!

I was reading on XDA that the samsung.com pre-orders were supposed to arrive on Sept 6. I'm in that camp, so I hope it's true! (would love it to be earlier, but doubt it).

It just dawned on me it's probably not as altruistic as I'd like to give them credit for. Apple announces the new iPhone on the 12. Getting preorders out next week starts the 14 day window early. Even without that it's better to get your toy into customers' hands before the other guy. Still smart on their end.

I was thinking about the Samsung upgrade programme
I don't really want to pay like £700 in one go for the phone
Do you think the plan is good?
I was looking at maybe taking out a contract with EE but they are expensive - £50 a month for the S8 plus.....

Samsung upgrade program charges interest unlike the Apple iPhone program which does not.

Personally I'd look into a contract if yours is due up

Not trying to rain on any parades, hell I preordered from samsung.com, so I’m in the same boat as you. But is it possible that some of these shipping aren’t the phones and are just the free items like the 360 Camera, wireless charger or SD card? I mean I’d hope they’d just ship them all together but maybe not?

Wrong. They do not charge interest. See left side below.

Yeah same boat here. Samsung upgrade programme seems ok, but for an S8+ it's more expensive there than on Amazon for example, but at least it's ~£30 a month for 2 years instead of all at once, and you can swap up to the new phone after 12 months. (I'm not entirely sure how that bit works though).

Definitely works out more to get the phone on contract from the networks though from when I was looking the other week.

I don't think that the upgrade program does charge interest, it says 0% like the Apple one. Paypal financing does charge interest though (that is also an option on the Samsung site).

Just checked it now and yes it does....
I was thinking 02 but their network isn't great in terms of data speeds
I can get 20% discount with EE but paying£50 a month seems obsense

Doubt it because Qualcomm isn't being mentioned with the iPhone 8, Intel will be. 600 MHz might work for me, but I will use a signal booster and wifi calling to handle bad signal I guess?
