Jeez the discounting / incentivising started already ... it's unreal what goes on on your side of the Atlantic.
I know if only we got such deals.

We really get very little in comparison!

A DeX dock doesn't attract me at all but oh well.
I'm interested in the DeX dock and for once I've managed to order early enough to get one. At least we get something because most of the time we don't or it's something like a free get VR for the first 1,000 orders. However the US gets spoilt rotten.

I can’t justify spending hundreds of dollars on a phone. I’m looking to upgrade my iPhone SE and switch back to Android, and currently the Moto G5 is looking very tempting. It’s affordable ($230-$300, depending on the storage/RAM and whether you get the Amazon Prime discount), has pretty good specs for the price, and has stock Android.

Always exciting when a new case comes in. Now if Samsung Canada can let us Canadians know what the deal is, if there will even be one. That way I can place my darn pre-order.

That's pretty sharp. I loathe cases but if the black Note is the same fingerprint magnet the black S8 Plus is I might have to reconsider.

T-Mobile BOGOs are worth it for the Note 8? Family member approached me about considering it. May have to swallow my pride if the deal is worth it. So people should get the pre-order bonuses? Gotta open a new line, pay off one phone and use the T-Mobile MasterCard to pay off the last phone? Do you get both phones at the same time?

Tmo customers are already getting their phones shipped. Lucky them.

Yep, they are, but I haven't made a move yet until the 1st. I had an offer to buy the LG G6 for $390 earlier today, but decided to hold off until I see what happens with the Note 8 BOGO someone wanted me to join them in. In that case, my iOS days are numbered. I really have to swallow my pride on the Galaxy because for $495 (splitting the Note 8 cost essentially), I would get 6gb RAM, the 835 processor, a great dual camera system with OIS in both, the S-Pen, the best screen on the market, Iris Scanning, Facial Detection, Samsung Pay, the bevy of features. It will cost me a bit of patience because Touchwiz sucks and I will need to put on Nova Launcher to avoid the lag and possible bog down.

Looks nice. I take it you are getting the black note?

My cases are coming today :)

Won't you guys miss iMessage & FaceTime (and Continuity w/iPad)? Or do you not really use those things? (I know there are substitutes...)
No I'm keeping my 7 plus so I can still use all of that with my iPad and mac. However I'm really looking forward to getting the note in a few weeks.

Definitely black for me. I just like how black suits any occasion.
Gold for me but I do like it that all of the fronts are black. As much as I like white fronts on phones it's been a while since I last had a phone with a black front. I'm looking forward to the black and gold combo. It was really nice on my S5.

At least for me iMessage is disabled even though my main SIM is currently in my iPhone. For me it's no use to have it enabled as pretty much no one (including those on iPhone) contacts me on it and there's less of a chance for my number to get stuck in iMessage if it's not enabled in the first place and one less thing to remember when swapping the SIM into an Android device.

But if you're using the Note for the day, and someone sends you an iMessage (or tries to FaceTime), you won't receive the notification until you get home to your iDevices(?) I thought SIM-swappers generally signed out of iMessage altogether, to avoid this issue..
EDIT: x-post with the above :)

I'll keep my main sim in my iPhone at the start. Depends on how I get on with the note if i want to switch sims. I also have an apple watch but also looking at getting the new gear sport so it will be interesting to see how I can juggle all of these devices. I think if I get the gear sport I'll have to put my main sim in the note otherwise it won't be worth it.

I have another question. Now that android devices are moving to USB C. How does USB on the go work? Do you need to buy a USB C to A adapter to be able to use the USB on the go dongle? Does the feature still work?

Samsung provides all the adopters you need in the box for usb OTG.

T-Mobile launching a BOGO promo for the Note 8 starting friday

AND................. The BOGO's begin...

Although I'm getting an ip8, I personally don't see what the big draw to imessage and facetime are. Google's messaging/video apps work just as well, although they really need to just join them all together into one app. Continuity is nice if you have an ipad companion, I don't so I wouldn't miss it, if anything there are non-proprietary continuity solutions on Android.

Anyone know when the BOGO deal with T-Mobile is good up till? I am on the fence on a possible iPhone 8 BOGO deal that makes it totally worth it as well.
