I'm sure I know the answer but just to get clarification. I have 2 other apple devices, iPad and MacBook Pro.

Would I need to sign out of FaceTime and iMessage from those devices as well to disconnect from iMessage?

Also, if I want to use ONLY my email for iMessage from iPad and Mac, how would I go about that? Remove my number from iMessage? Not sure how to do that.

Yes, if you want to ensure you'll start getting texts, you have to kill iMessage everywhere. I've found that if you try to leave it on for email, what happens is people with iPhones will default to sending you iMessages, meaning you won't get their texts.

To deregister your number go here:

I can't wait to get mine tomorrow..... seriously....some of the pictures people are posting are really awesome.
I got this from another forum...link at the bottom. Some people that have a S8+ and Note 8 are saying the battery life is the same or better on the N8

Come on Verizon or Samsung, where's your BOGO?!? I may not resist the siren call either, especially if the ip8 is delayed or if I can't pre order one. Guess I have to fondle one on the way home from work tonight, as I haven't seen one in person yet.

T-mobile has BOGO.

But no reception. If the N8 had 600mhz capability, and if it was released in my area then I'd consider them....maybe. I heard all the US models had the same exact hardware so if I unlocked the Tmobile variant I could use it on Verizon, anyone know?

yes, if it's like the S8, you just flash the firmware of the carrier you want via Odin. But you'd have to make sure the model you were using was sim unlocked just to avoid any issues. search XDA for the s8/s8+ firmware switching posts. Would likely just have to wait for the appropriate files for the Note 8.

Got excited my John Lewis order was dispatched but when I clicked it it's still processing lol.

Website tried to truck me by saying it's sent! The next week is too long to wait!

Nice! So even with a locked bootloader I can still flash carrier firmwares?

yep. This guide is how to go from carrier firmware to the unlocked firmware for s8/s8+, I'm sure Note 8 will be similar as this was the process for the S7/S7 Edge too. XDA LINK; this guide is how to switch carriers, and it was back early on when the device shipped, so there may be an easier way now, you'd have to do more digging, and of course, wait for the appropriate steps and files for the Note 8: XDA LINK

So I could also get the unlocked version from Samsung and flash the Verizon firmware onto it so wifi calling would work? Great info, I always thought the bootloader would get in the way.

Just looking at the colours that the Note 8 comes in for launch. That blue colour doesn't appear to be available in many places and it is by far the nicest colour.

Although, I have to say that pink colour for Taiwan is amazing! I obviously wouldn't buy it myself (lol), but if I was brave enough (and not a guy, more lol) I would as I think it looks great.

The more I look at the phone the more I like it, and I really disliked the S8 in the end so these are odd feelings I'm experiencing. :p
