Can't necessarily argue with you however my experience has gotten better over the course of today. My initial assessment was wrong: software is fine, it was the placement that created so many fail attempts with the FPS. I've trained myself on the right way to place my finger.

So, yes, I was holding it wrong.

Which means Samsung still has a crappy FPS. However my success rate has increased greatly to the point that I just unlock without thinking about it.
How's the battery,can it last a day?

Depends on usage and what you have installed. FB is notorious battery killer not to mention the constant data tracking they collect on you. One reason why I have deleted this app off my phone. On Android it is much more prevalent vs iOS due to iOS restrictions.

What is a day to you? 7am - 11PM? If you are using the thing all day long playing games and watching videos it may be pushing it. If you are using here and there, emails, text, browsing, etc then you can probably get 2 - 3 days. I took mine off the charger at 6am this morning and with my fairly light usage I'm at 92% after 3 hours. So many factors come into play when it comes to battery life. It will not be as good as the 7+ but not too many phones are. This is totally acceptable to me as I was usually at 50% or higher on the 7+ by the time I put it on the charger at night.

Do you find it a better phone than the S8 plus..?
Better phone is subjective and it depends on your usage. I think most people are getting caught up and want to know which is better but I think it comes down to how the user uses the phone. If you need the Spen then the Note would be a better buy. I just think the appeal to 2 different crowds.

One thing you want to make sure is turned off is Google Location History. People often confuse this with GPS. It's totally fine to have the GPS on, I always have mine on without any battery draining issues. Just keep location history off.

Do you do that for battery life or paranoia over data?

I'm not one of the tin foil wearing crowd. Otherwise my GPS wouldn't be on. Lol. I do it for battery life. Give it a test.

Sorry, I realize using the word "paranoia" suggested I was throwing shade. Not my intention. I wanted to know if there was a battery life related reason and apparently there is. I just switched it off, so thanks for the tip!

It is F*CKING FANTASTIC. Everything about it is makes it one of best in class. Launches quick, focus and pic taking is quick, and photos generally turn out fantastic. Low light is great.

How do you disable Google Location History?

When you hold you finger on the app it will allow you to disable. Some apps you cannot delete, unfortunately until a root comes along.
[doublepost=1504804765][/doublepost]Nice combo. A lot to like.

On what app?

Facebook, Facebook app manager, Game launcher, setup & transfer, AT&T drive mode, direct tv + remote, AT&T call protect, AT&T mobile society are some that I disabled. Disabling pretty much does the same thing except for it is taking up space on the phone.

Just hold down the GPS toggle, and it'll take you directly there. Look at the bottom of the screen, under location service. Tap on each instance of Google Location History and then turn off of the option if the option to do so is available. Remember, you're not turning off GPS, only Google Location History.

Since I use Facebook and call protect I left those alone. Everything else disabled. :p

Nothing more heartbreaking than walking into a carrier store to kill some time while the wife is shopping only to realize it's actually an authorized reseller with nothing but those empty shells of phone sadness lining the shelves.

As far as the battery, after about 13 hours without a charge and paired to my vehicle for 2 hours of commuting plus paired to my new S3 watch for about 7 hours I'm at 54% battery. Not too shabby.

Hey all! Got a question. I ordered the Note8 via AT&T today. Surprisingly, it's already shipped out and being delivered tomorrow...

It is being delivered by Fedex but I won't be home to receive it. Since I'm worried about the package being stolen.. If I schedule a hold at location, will it be available for pick up tomorrow?
